  1. I'm not the PFF guy, although I did read that the center graded out higher than Majors. I believe @Hiphopopotamoshas PFF info
  2. Two sources told Horns247, Sarkisian has interviewed Ohio State assistant defensive line coach LaAllen Clark to work with the Longhorns' defensive ends. Clark was the defensive ends coach at Southern in 2022 before joining Ohio State as a graduate assistant in 2023. Clark, who played defensive end at Grambling State and Northwestern State, began his coaching career at Prairie View A&M in 2019. He is originally from Baton Rouge, La., and has an excellent reputation as a recruiter, especially in Louisiana. As the CEO of LC Performance, Clark has trained current and former NFL defensive linemen, including Ed Oliver of the Buffalo Bills, Jeffrey Simmons of the Tennessee Titans and Danielle Hunter of the Houston Texans. Texas posted a job opening for an assistant coach more than a week ago, and it's now clear Sarkisian would like to add an assistant to help develop the team's defensive ends - a role defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski has handled each of the last four seasons. Recent NCAA rule changes allow for on-field coaching from members of a football staff previously restricted to only designated on-field coaches. This allows for more flexibility in staff utilization and specialized coaching roles across teams.
  3. Already has a pick in for Tennessee. (edit: nevermind, that was for Pendleton, the other OL who entered yesterday)
  4. Gerry said yesterday he was thinking Turntine would end up 6'3.5, around 305 pounds.
  5. Sounds like Frank Haith is our next coach
  6. A few junior day updates from Gerry: -Turntine not making it in due to a family event. Expected back in Austin soon. -Amari Latimer has a basketball game so won't be able to attend -The speedster Burroughs out of Florida can't make it to a conflict his mom had. Will be on campus at some point this spring. -This DB from Georgia will be coming in https://247sports.com/Player/blake-stewart-46135434/ -In-state RB is coming in who has picked up A&M and Ole Miss offers recently https://247sports.com/Player/izayah-lee-46146554/
  7. I think all the 9.95 sites have mentioned at this point that they don't feel the 2026 in-state class is as strong as some previous classes. Should make for an interesting cycle with our willingness to go out of state. Seems like OL and DB should be able to be filled with largely in-state guys if we choose. DT and LB seem like they will involve some big boy out of state battles if we want to hit our needed numbers (3-4 at DT I'm assuming and hopefully 3 at LB).
  8. Ryan Wingo is WR1. I think Moore could turn into a solid player but he was pretty much just a guy last year. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. His blocking ability was appreciated considering what we got out of Bond and Golden in that area.
  9. I don't think I ever thought to myself once this season, "Man, we need to involve DeAndre Moore more". 39 catches as the 4th or 5th pass-catching option in the offense seems about right. Hell, it felt like 75% of his production came on those wide-open fake screen wheel routes where there wasn't anyone within 10 yards of him.
  10. Rivals released their final top 250 for the 2025 class No.11 Justus Terry No.16 Jonah Williams No.19 Kaliq Lockett No.29 Lance Jackson No.45 KJ Lacey No.48 Jamie Ffrench No.71 Kade Phillips No.94 Daylan McCutcheon No.106 Michael Terry No.110 James Simon No.127 Graceson Littleton No.151 Josiah Sharma No.167 Bo Barnes No.192 Nick Townsend No.194 Myron Charles No.196 Nicolai Brooks No.241 Smith Orogbo
  11. Ohio State On3 mod said he would not be surprised if Carnell Tate explored the portal in search of a bigger payday and being WR1 elsewhere.
  12. Beat the Aggies Saturday and the path to the tournament becomes much clearer.
  13. Several jobs posted on the UT website
  14. That's the way I've always understood it. The script is used during normal game flow and down and distances. You obviously aren't using your script if your first play is 1st and 10 from your own 1 or you face a 3rd and 25 on your first possession. Teams and players also know the 3-4 bread-and-butter plays for certain situations heading into a game (4th and short, 2 point conversions, low and high red zone, shot plays, trick plays, etc). You've heard Sark say several times something to the effect of "Milwee and I decided Friday night that the first 3rd and short we are running X" or "we've had that trick play repped and ready for 3 weeks" or whatever it is.
  15. The 'it hasn't happened in x years' argument would be a lot more convincing if more coaches did it. How many P5 coaches are good enough to be calling their own plays right now? 4? 5? So yes, by simple math, the odds are not in their favor. No one has done it since Jimbo Fimbo is also a really fancy way of saying if your name isn't Smart, Saban or Dabo, you probably don't have a title in the last 10 years. Again, I'm not totally against the idea but if the reasoning is doing it just because other people did it, that is a poor way to operate.
  16. Recency bias is a thing. Everyone sees what he did in one game last night and suddenly forgets that in the previous 15 games, he averaged 2.5 catches for 31 yards. His best football is ahead of him and he is a good player, but if he was from Bozeman, Montana and we didn't recruit him out of HS, no one would be wishcasting his transfer to Texas.
  17. Is the Day the first coach in history to be fired by half his fanbase then win the title a month later?
  18. After he was uber aggressive in the first half with his 4th down decisions. That was one of the worst turtle mode decisions I’ve ever seen.
  19. TD % was significantly better. Overall redzone scoring took a nosedive because our FG kicker decided to turn into Nick Rose.
  20. Running 9 times in a single drive tends to impact your ability to do basic QB things the rest of the game.
  21. Millett and Jordan were let go from their letter of intents back in the summer. Powell was a fall casualty along with Casey Cummings, Seth Werchan, Brandon Bertsch and Walker Polk.
