  1. Gerry said tonight that if the tournament is missed this year it is “very dicey” for Terry. Reading between the lines and knowing the relationships he has in the program, that is his nice way of saying Terry would be gone.
  2. Louisiana will be interesting this cycle with where LSU is at. There is that DT we like as well out of Louisiana who named us his leader a few weeks back. The 2023 cycle seemed to be a wake up call to Kelly and LSU when quite a few high profile guys left the state. They have done better the last two classes at getting the dudes they want. Hiring a competent defensive staff probably helped too.
  3. Speaking of legacies, Kaydon Finley is apparently going to be at Notre Dame next weekend. Was at A&M last weekend. I’ve said it before but WR is going to be interesting this cycle. I’m assuming the number is 3-4? Already have Stewart committed and I’m sure we will go big game hunting for a guy or two.
  4. Confirmed for Junior day, per OTF. One of the top WR’s on the board https://www.on3.com/db/naeem-burroughs-157245/
  5. I think it was Bobby who mentioned a few months back that last offseason Gideon was a finalist for a couple of P5 DC gigs. I believe Mississippi State may have been one of the schools he mentioned, but I can't remember the others.
  6. 2024 salary and when their contract is up: Milwee- $600k, contract runs through February 2025 Choice- $700k, contract runs through February 2025 Jackson- $700k, contracts runs through February 2025 Flood- $1.3 million, contract runs through February 2027 Banks- $1.15 million, contract runs through February 2027 Kwiatkowski- $1.8 million, contract runs through February 2027 Baker- $550k, contract runs through February 2026 Nansen- $900k, contract runs through February 2026 Joseph- $825k, contract runs through February 2025 Gideon- $600k, contract runs through February 2025 Becton- $550k, contract runs through February 2026 I assume the guys with contracts expiring will get their new contracts approved next month at the BoR meeting. I think the rule is anything over $1 million in total contract value has to be approved.
  7. OB this morning I was told Texas’ Brandon Harris will become one of the highest-paid general managers in college football. One source said Harris will be paid more than $500,000—a significant increase from the $264,500 salary reported by USA Today in December. Additionally, multiple members of Sarkisian’s support staff will receive raises. Expect the specifics to be revealed in February when the Board of Regents meets (February 19–20).
  8. Kyle Shanahan was the Falcons OC when they played in the Super Bowl.
  9. I can’t believe that Arkansas AD still has a job after some of the moves he’s made over the years. They completely bailed out Kentucky with the Calipari move.
  10. We will have to wait the entire month of March in silence as the guy takes his team to the championship game before leaving the next day
  11. 4 of the 5 conference games have actually seen us be very competitive for about 70% of the game before getting completely outclassed the final 8-10 minutes. And the one we were largely uncompetitive in was Auburn, which we came back and made competitive. We have the talent to hang around in most of these games but lose pretty much everywhere else and eventually that shows.
  12. Kent had some good suitors and was ranked in the top 10 in the country by KenPom for effective field goal percentage, true shooting, and offensive rating. I expected more than 4 points and 2 rebounds a game.
  13. What a disappointment Kent and Larry have been.
  14. There’s no way this is the same Onyema who has been on our team for two years
  15. A&M started 3 lefties during certain stretches last year. Prager, Sdao and Lamkin.
  16. Interestingly, the 4th quarter scoring has followed a different trend 2021- 5.8 (90th) 2022- 7.0 (62nd) 2023- 9.1 (15th) 2024- 6.7 (75th)
  17. I wasn’t thrilled with his defense last year but I also think he ran out of gas towards the end of the season. He was miles ahead of Schuessler as a defender. They also seem to like the freshman catcher Cole Chamberlain so I don’t think the leash will be super long if Galvan does have issues.
  18. 3rd quarter scoring average 2021- 8.9 points (15th) 2022- 7.6 points (27th) 2023- 7.1 points (39th) 2024- 5.8 points (65th)
  19. The names he drops in his farewell post could be some foreshadowing as to where he might end up. It was a bit of bummer when he made the switch years ago from recruiting to doing more team beat coverage. I always thought the recruiting stuff he brought to the table was great.
  20. 3 left-handed starters would be something after not having a lefty who threw harder than 87 MPH last year.
  21. D1Baseball's projected starting lineup and rotation. Kendall Rogers and Schloss are pretty close so my guess is he is getting pretty good info.
  22. The QB sneak is definitely in the playbook with him. Ran (or tried to run it) it 4 or 5 times this year with him under center (CSU, Miss State a couple of times, Clemson). Ewers sucked at it (the few times we tried it last year) and was so fragile this year that they didn't trust him to take hits. It should also probably be noted that you need a good center when executing a QB sneak. Majors was only in there for a few of the attempts, so it's tough to know if he was good at it or not, but we need to hope his replacement is.
  23. Jim Rome is still around? The surprise of the year.
  24. It seems some on here are banking on Arch running around and saving us like Klubnik or Leavitt and I think they are in store for disappointment. Wasn’t the thought during his recruitment that they ruled out places like Clemson and Ole Miss because they didn’t want Arch to be a battering ram or hero ball QB? The Manning’s didn’t send him here to be Sam Ehlinger and I was honestly pretty surprised we used him in the role we did this year but that probably speaks volumes to the short yardage/redzone issues and it was such a specialty role. Some of the stuff he did against Georgia the first time was him just being a young QB facing Georgia running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Now that he is the full time guy it is going to be hammered in his head to avoid big hits and scramble to throw. His mobility will be nice and likely open up the playbook a little bit more and I’m sure we will mix in some QB run more often than we ever did with Ewers, but those expecting him to regularly register 10 carries a game are probably going to be screaming after games about why we “didn’t run Arch more??”
