  1. This one was dicey for a little bit
  2. We were in it for Root and Arkansas came in and blew everyone else out of the water with a NIL offer.
  3. Bicep, which is a little concerning, but beggars can't be choosers. Talent is there.
  4. So, are these the appropriate vibes right now positionally? QB- Good RB- Good WR- Good even with 0 commits TE- Good if Townsend falls our way OL- Fairly good with Brooks and Fasusi in the balance Edge- Good DT- Not good. Need to hold on for dear life with Brown, get DJ Sanders and then pray for a couple of flips? LB- Avreage with Barnes and potentially Cunningham, but Pettijohn trending away is tough CB- Below average. Chester is solid, but no Brew or Anding means back to the drawing board S- Average with Phillips and Tilmon, need another good piece to bump it up.
  5. An edge class of Jackson and Orogbo certainly wouldn't suck
  6. Kennedy was committed to A&M as a sophomore in HS and was essentially let go when Schloss took over. So I don't think he was too interested in going through that again at Texas.
  7. If you think a “big domino” tweeted by a national writer is an off-field assistant following the head coach who hired him, I got some ocean front property to sell in Arizona. Texas is going to have to work hard to retain their good players. That is what happens when you make a coaching change. We aren’t immune to that.
  8. 1 for 1. And I like where we are with Patton. Unsure on Kilen right now
  9. Played for Texas, worked under Augie and lives, breathes and sleeps Texas baseball. He knows all the former players, HS kids, coaches and has connections out the ass. All due respect to Carli Todd who previously had that role, but to have a true baseball guy in the ops role is a big deal.
  10. Let’s see what the roster looks like August 1. This team as currently constructed with no Thomas or Flores is not close to hosting.
  11. We are going to get some good players via the portal and I expect us to be competitive next year but this thing is still somewhat of a rebuild considering the roster imbalance and lack of overall talent 1 through 40 on the roster as things currently stand. I think I’ve said that before so obviously not breaking any news It didn’t help that A&M played til literally the last possible day of the season and a lot of portal guys were off the board.
  12. Galvan is questionable to return as well, although I think he prefers being at Texas but was another Longley guy.
  13. The thing I can’t quite understand is where Belyeu would even slot in at A&M. Laviolette, Grahovac, Sorrell and Schott should all be back next year and play the OF.
  14. The domino Kendall is referencing is Max Belyeu. Him and Longley were close and he has family ties to A&M. Texas is trying to put out the fire.
  15. Pretty sure the P5 coach being hyped up as coming on as an assistant is Jason Kelly at Washington. Was the pitching coach at ASU with Earley and spent a year at LSU before getting the head gig at Washington.
  16. I'm not sure if he desires to be an on-field assistant and I'm also not sure if Schlossnagle would green light someone as an on-field assistant who has never recruited off campus.
  17. OTF posted a note about it but there a strong support staff hire coming. Will help in multiple areas.
  18. He was committed to Texas under Pierce. Just doesn’t have social media so no one knew it was public.
  19. -We have not lost anyone of significance left. Galvan, Whitehead, Grubbs, Belyeu, Schuessler and Gasparino are probably the only guys I would lose sleep over if they left. -The two A&M decommits are class of 2025, so won’t be on campus until the 2026 season.
  20. Yes. Then give him an open checkbook to get the current players back and see if he can stick it to mean ole Schlossnagle.
  21. If A&M hires Earley, they will also try to get Caleb Longley to join the staff to "stick it to Texas", and see if any players come over. Earley and Longley coached together at Arizona State and are good friends.
  22. It’s not that complicated. This is the type of attrition you expect with a coaching change. The dude hit .209 last year. I’m sure he was in line to improve as a sophomore but he also probably isn’t trying to engage in a battle for his spot after starting 40 games last year. This is no longer David Pierce managing this roster man. The harsh reality is there are 20 Dee Kennedy’s in the portal. We like to get attached to our own players because we want them to succeed but the old saying of “they will bite as a pup” still applies to about 90% of guys. For every Jalin Flores breakout sophomore campaign, there are 50 other guys who dont break out. Flores also had much more pedigree and tools to work with.
