  1. Drew Kelson and Wadlington both said on YouTube postgame that the goal line sequence is extra hard to swallow because they felt up to that point it was one of the best offensive gameplans we’ve had all year and we made a lot of good adjustments on the fly considering the hand we were working with (No Golden for 3/4ths of the game, Bond disappearing again).
  2. He got hurt on his one play. I couldn’t believe the broadcast didn’t even bring it up. I’m assuming concussion because the training staff took away his helmet.
  3. I don’t think there is any doubt he had 2023 OU PTSD during that sequence. I knew we were in trouble when the first down run got stuffed. For whatever reason, whether it’s personnel, play style, Sark, whatever….this team just hasn’t been very good/efficient in goal to go situations. I was sitting there nervous our OL was going to get enough push. The pitch play was horrible. I 100% understand him not wanting to just pound it up the middle again but literally anything else but tossing it a RB catching it on the 9 yard line in that situation.
  4. Like OU last year. “HOW CAN YOU RUN IT UP THE MIDDLE 3 TIMES YOU STUBBORN FUCK!” It was a horrible sequence of plays tonight. Not a good moment for him but he ain’t the first good playcaller to have sequences or plays he wishes he had back.
  5. That’s what the article said Texas was recruiting him as
  6. 1st down pass rate in the last 4 games: 48.7% 2nd down run rate in the last 4 games: 48.9%
  7. Of all the things to list as reasons we might lose, this might not make the top 100.
  8. Bud Elliott (who I normally consider pretty level headed and informed compared to the other 3 idiots on the podcast) said earlier this week he would trade Quinn Ewers for Sawyer Robinson or Tyler Shough
  9. I feel like every Porter Moser season at OU has followed the exact same script
  10. Grubbs barely did anything in the fall (workload management from last year and I think a minor injury) and Whitehead was recovering from his offseason surgery. Maybe Grubbs competes for a Sunday or midweek starting role but I think there is a chance both end up in the bullpen. No disrespect to the kid, but the fact Howard didn’t transfer or wasn’t pushed out was one of the more surprising moves of the offseason. They must see something they like but goodness it’s hard to forget his final outing last year where he walked 5 dudes in a row when we were up like 14-1.
  11. You know who people were mentioning a few years ago and has seen their stock plummet? Jerome Tang I didn’t realize how bad KSU is this year after missing the tournament last year.
  12. I think he would have been fired in 2020 if the postseason hadn't been canceled. If I recall correctly, we were on the bubble and were set to play essentially a play-in game against Beard and Tech (also on the bubble) in the Big 12 tournament the day the season stopped.
  13. We have to share that $14 million with our conference members. The buyout is minimal and considering where the roster will be after this year with no Tre Johnson coming in out of HS, the writing is on the wall. This is a pretty straightforward situation.
  14. If a president is having to be heavily involved in a sport like basketball, you have the wrong AD.
  15. An article the Statesman posted a year ago had Terry's buyout at around $7 million, so it won't be much.
  16. Chris Jans at Mississippi State would be another obvious candidate worth exploring, but he did get fired from Bowling Green in 2015 for being recorded smacking a women's butt at a bar after a game.
  17. Wow 7th is pretty high. I’d probably have us more in the 12-15 range with some of the pitching question marks but the lineup is certainly top 10 quality. We have 22 games against teams in that preseason top 25, including 7 of our 10 SEC conference series (A&M, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, OU, Auburn)

  19. I never really understood our interest in Marvin Jones Jr., so the fact he ended up at OU seems like a win because he hasn't been a good player.
  20. I get we are going to shoot for the stars and hiring a guy with 1 year of D1 experience would be nonstarter for some, but damn I think McCollum is a stud. He is an offense guy too. Buzz Williams said a few years ago when McCollum was still at the D2 level that he was one of the best X’s and O’s coaches in the country.
  21. Obviously it’s a requirement on the internet that any basketball coaching search always start by mentioning Jay Wright and Brad Stevens, but I’d prefer we not pursue a guy in the portal and NIL era who got out of coaching 3 years ago because he didn’t want to deal with the portal and NIL.
  22. Ben McCollum is going to turn this around!
  23. That’s impossible to do in the portal era of college basketball. We all thought Shaka did this and 2 years later were playing in the Elite Eight.
