  1. Pete Nakos (On3) mentioned this regarding the Branch brothers “The brothers have an existing NIL deal with the Jordan Brand, which is something to know as their recruitment ramps up.”
  2. I am a little bummed to not see Air Force on the schedule.
  3. I know we are all happy that Davis was able to carve out a role after barely playing a lick his first 3 years, but as often as we find ourselves in 12 personnel, he just doesn't do much. PFF has him as one of the worst run blocking TE's in the country (go back and watch Arch's TD run against A&M and it's hilarious to see Davis with the opportunity to block about 4 different guys and he didn't touch a single one) and we know he doesn't offer much as a pass catcher.
  4. I'm sure Joey and the Double Eagle bros have convinced themselves they must push all the chips in. A joke of a non-conference schedule next year while avoiding four teams that finished in front of them in the standings this year. All that means probably means another 8-4/7-5 season loading. https://fbschedules.com/2025-texas-tech-football-schedule/
  5. *The Arch package. I'm not asking Arch to run QB power 5 times a game. But the threat of his legs should open up more options in the redzone, which is probably what this offense needs since we aren't very good at just straight up mauling people in the run game and have a QB who struggles when the field gets condensed and he has to throw guys open more.
  6. I don't disagree, but when they tried something new against Kentucky by throwing in Gibson in the third quarter of a non-blowout, he immediately put the ball on the ground. The Arch package seems far more likely to be a redzone answer than asking Gibson to traditional run game stuff at this point.
  7. So Dartmouth is the layup weekend. Santa Clara is a middle of the pack WCC team. SOS won’t be an issue this year. The other thing that sticks out is no double midweeks.
  8. Sounds like you do understand why we abandoned him. Same reason Jaydon Blue has received 4 total carries the last 2 games. 3 fumbles in 68 career carries for Gibson is about as bad as it gets. Maybe he’ll be good in time but outside of his garbage time carries against Florida I haven’t seen anything the last 2 months to say he should be seeing the ball more outside of the occasional short yardage carry.
  9. Ohio State- Julian Sayin Bama- Austin Mack who came with DeBoer from Washington or Ty Simpson. Assuming Milroe doesn’t come back. Miami has to be transfer I would think. Same with ND. USC is another one I would assume is in the market. Is Riley going to feel comfortable rolling with Maiaiva in what might be a hot seat year? Will Michigan want a one year stopgap guy before Underwood takes over?
  10. I would actually like this pickup for A&M. We will see if they can get him the ball. Averaged over 21 yards a reception as a freshman.
  11. Can’t remember which but one of the 9.95 sites said last week that the Nansen connection isn’t as strong with Davis as the defensive lineman from last year that we brought in.
  12. Maybe Mitchell saw the Zac Swanson interview
  13. Alright I’m not even going to pretend I wanted Mitchell back this time
  14. Moved up 20 spots in NET this past week from #64 to #44. Auburn- 1 Tennessee- 2 Florida- 5 Kentucky- 7 Bama- 10 Ole Miss- 22 Mississippi State- 24 Georgia- 26 A&M- 28 Missouri- 29 OU- 41 Texas- 44 Arkansas- 47 Vandy- 54 LSU- 64 South Carolina- 99
  15. The question has to be asked, is this team better without Tre Johnson?
  16. It sure would be nice to not have to watch 2023 highlights of our third year starter. He doesn’t suck and he isn’t the lone reason we lost both games this year, but is it too much to ask that our 30+ game starter be elevating the team and covering up some mistakes instead of just being a bus driver? It’s the same standard I’ll hold Arch to in a few years. We shouldn’t still be having to cling to 2022 and 2023 highlights of our starting quarterback.
  17. Lee Hunter (UCF DT) visiting next week, per IT
  18. A&M thought they had Jaylon Braxton locked up and he announced for Ole Miss
  19. So was Maalik Murphy’s Auburn visit just a leverage play in their attempt to get Arnold? He visited before Arnold did. I know it’s been talked about before but I’m beginning to think that guy isn’t getting very good advice. Duke immediately upgraded after he left and now he is stuck in this game of QB musical chairs that seems like it could easily end with him quarterbacking a G5 team next year.
  20. Quotes from Bouwmeester on picking Texas via 247. Mentioned working with Kern and helping develop him.
  21. Gerry made a good point yesterday regarding DT. We are only playing 4 this year (Collins, Broughton, Lole, Norton). If we get the right 3 guys in the portal we will probably be deeper at DT next year because Sharma/Charles/Terry will be more ready to be in the rotation as freshmen than January or Hills this year.
