  1. TCU might be playing for their postseason life today. A loss would mean a 14-16 finish in conference play and I don’t know if the committee is taking a below .500 team in the Big 12 even with a solid RPI.
  2. That 2020 pitching staff featured 3 starters who were taken in the top 5 rounds of the MLB draft, Tristan Stevens and Cole Quintanilla in the bullpen, freshman Andre Duplantier throwing nasty stuff pre injury and several other arms who were throwing well. They probably would have won more than a few games in a regional.
  3. I think the guy they are starting tomorrow will be a lefty (Evan Shaw)
  4. Craig Way said the splits on Lanthier were skewed heavily towards lefties. Like 50+ point difference.
  5. O’Hara is in the same bucket as Lummus. His numbers don’t reflect how lucky he has been.
  6. Fair or not, Porter Brown has a track record and even when he isn't hitting he still works counts and walks at a pretty good rate. Most freshmen will ride the rollercoaster during a 55 game season, so there is merit in plugging Brown in there from time to time for extended stretches. What game was it where Borba dropped the pop-up at 1B? Game 1 of OSU? Probably not a coincidence he got some time on the bench after that. Brown also had that 3 walk game against OSU then went 4 for 10 in the UCF series. The O'Dowd thing is just a matter of picking your poison at this point. I don't think he or Kennedy can hit at an average level right now. You just stick one in the 9-hole and cross your fingers. Kennedy has more speed and defense but I understand the thinking of maybe O'Dowd heats up with the bat for a game or 2 and randomly runs into one like he is prone to do.
  7. Tech has officially mailed it in for the season. Allowed 18 runs through 6 innings tonight to Arizona State.
  8. I thought for sure that RF was going to make a diving catch knowing our luck
  9. There are maybe 8-10 games a year that are actually decided by in-game decisions/strategy/personnel choices. Most of the others have too wide a margin or there isn’t anything super complex that comes up. This one tonight was one of those 8-10 and losing that one for being too slow to pull Lummus would have been a tough pill to swallow. Glad we found a way.
  10. Such a gritty group. That is one of the one better closers we’ve seen this year and he doesn’t record an out.
  11. Can’t count on Boehm to bail you out every close game that shouldn’t be close. He ain’t Superman.
  12. Pierce did that same crap at OU where he tried to sneak outs out of Lummus before bringing in Dre to put out the fire. Thought he would have learned his lesson.
  13. You saw this Lummus outing from a mile away. Close game in a series opener in the 7th inning, there are two guys who should touch the ball for us.
  14. Lummus isn’t good man and we keep doing this to ourselves.
  15. I just don’t get it regarding Lummus.
  16. His eyeblack is usually really good
  17. Do not bunt with Brown below him please
