  1. Nicole doesn’t understand why Northern Illinois isn’t above Notre Dame in the rankings. They beat Notre Dame on the field!!!!
  2. Nahlin said there are two more visitors they are expecting (outside of Phillips and Fasusi) that they’ve been asked to keep quiet for now.
  3. This is a pretty good RB draft class, especially compared to last year. I just don’t see how Blue is more than a 7th round/UDFA guy right now. Maybe he is cool with that and ready to get his pro career started. I get that for a RB. He doesn’t play special teams, struggles with ball security and doesn’t have much production compared to many of the other guys coming out. His calling hard will be his speed but is that enough to get him drafted? I know some will try to make the Keilan Robinson comparison but that dude was a special teams demon. I wouldn’t be upset if Blue does come back but there will definitely be RB attrition if that is the case. You would have 7 scholarship guys at the position and at least 4 of them would be expecting to see meaningful carries in 2025.
  4. Rivals updated their top 250: Jonah Williams- #15 Jaime Ffrench- #27 Lance Jackson- #33 Kaliq Lockett- #51 KJ Lacey- #71??? James Simon- #106 Daylan McCutcheon- #109 Graceson Littleon- #123 Josiah Sharma- #146 Elijah Barnes- #171 Nick Townsend- #184 Myron Charles- #185 Nick Brooks- #186 Zelus Hicks- #234 Smith Orogbo- #235
  5. It’s funny how perception works. This has been Ole Miss’ conference journey: -Loses at home to a horrible Kentucky team -Plays South Carolina with Sellers playing through injury -Loses to a horrible LSU team in a game where they had a 96% win probability at one point in the 4th quarter -In a 16-14 game at home halfway through the third quarter against the worst Oklahoma team in 25 years -Smoked Arkansas in a game where Taylen Green got hurt and Ja’Quinden Jackson didn’t play -Beats Georgia at home So they lost to two bad teams, played two backup or hurt QB’s, played with their food against OU and got up for one game against Georgia and all of a sudden they are now a lock for the playoff. Of course add in their non conference slate of Furman, Middle Tennessee State, Georgia Southern and Wake Forest. It’s funny how in the eyes of some, winning one big game apparently excuses losing to two horrible teams.
  6. Gerry is really harping on this NIL representation component of the Fasusi recruitment that favors A&M.
  7. I think you are referencing one of the girls on staff that I see in the background of a lot of TV sideline shots. That is not Loreal. https://www.linkedin.com/in/kyrah-mccowan-54402314?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=ios_app
  8. Nobody quit on him. We were all rightfully leery of a guy who isn’t really built to run between the tackles a bunch, looked banged up prior the Florida game and is averaging a fumble about every 40 touches for his career over 3 years. Blue and Wisner both getting 15ish touches a game is the sweet spot for this offense. We need to stop pretending we have a bellcow RB on this team who needs to touch the ball 20+ times.
  9. I was thinking about this the other day, but seeing what coaches do after that final regular-season game will be interesting. With signing day the following Wednesday, there is no way you can do in-home visits for everyone in your class and the guys you are trying to flip like you could in previous years.
  10. The time for a change has come and gone, IMO. Sark could have easily trotted Arch out there to start the second half against Georgia and seen where it took us while using the injury excuse for Ewers to shield him a bit. With two regular-season games left and a CFP berth literally at our fingertips, it just isn't worth it to potentially blow this whole thing up, especially with the media shitstorm that would come with Manning taking over unless there is injury or Ewers really just has a total collapse where he hands the ball to the other team 3 times in a half or something along those lines. I will give Sark a little credit for learning from 2022 and not just continuing to have Ewers bang his head against the wall. He has adjusted the offense to a version that I'm sure isn't what him and the staff envisioned, but we can still get where we want to go when at our best. It's still hard for me to comprehend how bad Ewers' feel in the pocket has gotten. He was never elite, but it damn sure never looked this bad at the end of last year or the beginning of this year.
  11. Parker Thune (OU Rivals mod) on Fasusi “Yeah, he’s expected at Texas this weekend and let’s just say the vibes are not great. Not great at all. And needless to say, if he were to decommit, that might have a major ripple effect with this class. He’s too good and too prominent for that not to be the case. This came as a shock to people in the Switzer Center, too, which is never a good sign.”
  12. Anyone know when the first NET rankings come out?
  13. Nahlin put in a RPM for Mbatchou to Texas. 60% confidence.
  14. Fasusi visiting Texas this weekend per OTF. Going to A&M next weekend
  15. Texas commits in the new On3 rankings: Lance Jackson- #3 Jonah Williams- #15 Smith Orogbo- #31 Elijah Barnes- #34 Kaliq Lockett- #36 Myron Charles- #58 Jaime Ffrench- #66 Graceson Littleton- #73 Daylan McCutcheon- #78 Nick Townsend- #105 Josiah Sharma- #161 James Simon- #200 Zelus Hicks- #295 Ricky Stewart dropped out of the top 300. KJ Lacey dropped to a 3-star.
  16. The only thing that gives me slight pause in this game is the fact that Kentucky played Murray State last week and had a bye the week before. So they will have been prepping Texas for 3 weeks. It shouldn’t matter, but I’m sure they will have us well scouted with a few curveballs ready to go.
  17. 1-10 FCS Murray State sacked Brock Vandagriff 3 times on Saturday in a game where he only played the first half.
  18. Suchomel said Michael Fasusi told him he might come in for the Kentucky game and Texas is “coming at him every day.”
  19. He’s a solid player but the veer and shoot QB’s have a track record of not translating super well to the NFL because it doesn’t include a lot of NFL concepts. It’s a sexy offense for stats but there is a reason Arch was never seriously considering Ole Miss.
  20. Did he? Not exactly how I interpreted it but you are probably right that he wouldn’t be posting about it if they weren’t a real threat. The talented receiver is on his official visit to Florida this weekend. He's also with his quarterback at Mandarin (Jacksonville, Fla), fellow four-star Tramell Jones. Like seemingly every other state of Florida player he's a recent FSU de-commit. Florida is almost certainly going to flip Jones. I'd RPM him to the Gators if I gave a s***. The Gators are a genuine threat. Jacksonville to Gainesville is a short drive and in addition to very likely having Jones on the way the Gators have DJ Lagaway at QB. Lagway isn't exactly a magnetic personality but he's a good dude and serious talent. We've often compared Ffrench's recruitment to Ryan "Sleepy Ry" Wingo. That recruitment had a very aggressive instate threat Texas had to overcome. Ffrench is still on his OV to Florida. It's set to end around 1:00 today. I promised you guys flips. Ha ha ha ha
  21. I won’t let having to watch Case McCoy and Tyrone Swoopes cloud my vision of what I expect from a 3-year stater who played in the playoff last season. I think that is part of the problem. People won’t let go of the past. I remember 3 years ago when people said “well you have to start Ewers because he can throw the deep ball and it opens up Sark’s offense” and the dude has completed like 3 true deep passes in 3 years. If it said anything other Ewers on the back of his jersey and he turned in the type of performances he did against OU, Georgia and Arkansas, every single person in this fanbase would be against him.
  22. My guess is we are operating with about 60% of the playbook when he plays like he did today. That won’t be good enough on his off nights in the playoffs, even if our defense is elite. He is a third year starter. My bar is a little higher than “please just don’t turn the ball over!”
  23. The dude has over 30 starts in his career and people still feel the desire to handle him with kid gloves. He’s a big boy who would be the first to tell you he needs to play better. A third year starter at QB should be elevating an offense at a place like Texas. He shouldn’t just be along for the ride or having to be put on a joystick by his playcaller. There were Texas QB’s in the past who didn’t get half the leash Ewers does in his third season from some in this fanbase just because they are still stuck on his HS rating and some beautiful passes he threw in a spring game and against Alabama a year ago. This team is good enough to win the national championship and we need our third year starter to be more than a game manager to get there. That ain’t asking for too much.
