  1. Looks like we are also playing the umpire crew today
  2. Hahahahaha what??? why even have review if you don’t get it right?
  3. Not sure why we are trotting Schuessler out there to catch a weekend game against a team that loves to run. If Galvan can’t catch 18 innings of baseball in a day at 20 years old that’s a problem.
  4. Petraitis got a prediction to Cal from an On3 national guy. Seems like the search may continue for a 4 and 5 to complete the roster with Garrison visiting Arkansas this weekend.
  5. Petraitis crystal ball to Cal from On3 national guy
  6. If it’s hanging on by that much of a thread, it’s over anyway. Can’t keep hitting on 17 and expecting a 3 or 4 like we’ve done the last month on Saturday and Sunday.
  7. He is a good arm. The blowup outing against Pitt he is still trying to recover from stat wise. Has a 3.86 ERA in conference play. Not an excuse, but just adding some context.
  8. Have we thought about maybe the team doesn’t know they are allowed to win on Friday?
  9. Probably fortunate it was only 3 considering we gave them 6 outs
  10. That hit the dudes foot. Only way it takes that bounce.
  11. These shadows are going to be extremely annoying
  12. Will be interesting to see the crowd tonight. Secondary market tickets are going for $10 including fees. I still can't believe they moved that series to Arlington in 2022 so they could help the program make more money.
  13. Bobby with a story on Worthy on OTF As many of you know, Xavier Worthy had the drops in the latter half 2022. Well, I was the first media person to tell folks after the season that he had a broken hand during that time frame. Texas did not want the news out lest it change how some opponents defended them. Some said that the injury was fake - merely an excuse for Worthy having the drops. But facts are Worthy was wearing a soft cast most of the second half of that season, not just around the facility but also to class, etc. But this part is where I think things get interesting, and also reveal a little more about who Worthy truly is. So, let's talk about how the injury actually occurred. Worthy was so pissed after a game that season, one where he actually had a good game but the team lost, that he punched a locker in the locker room. No, not the smartest move he's ever made. You could even call it immature. But this is where many fans got the notion of who Worthy is wrong. Anyone who ever second guessed him as a prima donna who only cared about stats, etc., it kind of speaks to a different level of intent that not many people were aware he has. He's intensely competitive. Winning means a lot to him. Now, Worthy is not the perfect receiver. He's relatively thin. He has good hands, but not great ones. He wasn't always the easiest to deal with off the field. But when you talk to people who have coached him or played with him, to a man they all talk about how hard he goes in practice. There's never any doubt about what he was out there to do when he steps on to a football field, for a practice or a game. He was out there to get better and to win. So congrats to Xavier. I truly believe he became a better player at Texas and I also think he matured greatly along the way. Last night was culmination of many things coming to fruition in the best way possible.
  14. I think Gerry has told the story several times that Gary recruited Brooks as a safety out of HS and was one of the only people to tell Brooks and his dad that is where he saw him long-term. He obviously had Guilbeau committed at one point too at TCU
  15. Not sure if weird is the right word, but it felt like Jordan had a weird career path here. I remember him playing corner against Bama in game 2 as a freshman in 2022 once Jamison went down and he seemed like someone the coaches trusted early. Then he was moved to nickel and rarely heard from again outside of special teams. I thnk it's been mentioned before that Gary Patterson kept telling the staff to move him to safety.
  16. Gerry with a Brandon Garrison update BTW, looks like Brandon Garrison will visit Arkansas this weekend - as of today. That's not the most comforting news for Texas, OU or OkState. We shall see what happens.
  17. We gave up 17 to UT Rio Grande Valley a week ago. Can’t take anything for granted with this group.
  18. Gasparino is going to be special. All the tools are there.
  19. We’ve reached the point where I hope Duplantier comes back next year for his Covid year.
  20. I’ll maintain my stance that the increase in velocity is the main thing that is hurting him. When he is 89-91 he is at his best. 92-94 the sinker flattens out and he loses it.
  21. Nope. Should be back. Belyeu, Gasparino, Borba, Galvan, Schuessler, Kennedy should all be back. We’ve returned much worse.
  22. Porter Brown had built up more goodwill than O'Dowd but I am quickly running out of hope. At least he is still walking at a respectable rate. I don't know what you can do at this point other than cross your fingers. It's game 42.
