  1. They supposedly were cracking down on those accounts. CDC sent an email out earlier in the year that they had taken back a certain number of season tickets from accounts showing broker tendencies. The early start time didn’t help and Florida sucks, but the weather was perfect and the team only had 2 home games left. Was just a little disappointing to not see more burnt orange in the stands.
  2. It was on the east side. Someone referenced it earlier but the BYU game last year is the only recent game I can remember with that heavy of an away fan presence.
  3. The upper decks legitimately may have been 40%ish away fans for Georgia and Florida. I expected a lot of away fans the next few years as schools travel here for the first time or first time in a long time, but it’s still pretty disappointing to see the number of season ticket holders selling their tickets. A lot of the same seats around me that were occupied by Georgia fans were occupied by Florida fans today.
  4. No way I’m going here yet. They had to have Hunter play off the ball last year for extended stretches it got so bad and that also really hurt Abmas because he had to take over initiating the offense. I would have loved to see Abmas and Johnson get the opportunity to play together.
  5. It’s pretty important that you win these games by 30+. NET rankings factor in efficiency metrics and we got hurt last year by winning games by 20 that we should have won by 30.
  6. Good to see Pope finally get going at the end. Kaluma has quietly looked pretty damn good through 2 games. 15 and 10 tonight.
  7. Hell yeah, love moments like that for Vinson.
  8. Onyema can not play once conference play starts. We will have to go small when Shedrick needs a breather.
  9. He’ll never be more than an average big man but I do see some small positive differences in Shedrick so far this year. Definitely looks healthier.
  10. Barnes or Beard would have won this one 72-45 for sure. Defense should be ahead of the offense at this point because it takes less time to gel on that end.
  11. We’ll win 90-64 or some such but hard to get excited about the defensive rotations right now and the fact we can’t get Pope going.
  12. Hard to get Jordan Pope going when he picks up 3 fouls in about 3 minutes of action
  13. Onyema never wants to take fouls home with him
  14. Can we get this Dawkins guy in the portal next year? Impressive player for HCU.
  15. On a video on OTF earlier this week, Gerry gave a quick overview of the 2026 in-state class. -Much deeper right now on the OL compared to 2025 -Very weak at DT. Texas will have to go heavy OOS again -Strong as usual at WR. We obviously already have Chris Stewart in the class. -Good at DB. Jalen Lott (James Lott’s son) could be a top WR or DB.
  16. It’s important to him fellas!
  17. Gerry mentioned on an OTF video today that someone in Cook's circle has been in his ear about entering the portal basically all year.
  18. It's funny you should say that because several of those players would have been leaving the program if Pierce had returned.
  19. They committed 24 turnovers in their opener against Iowa State. Iowa State had 16 steals.
  20. Our next 3 games are against teams KenPom ranked (out of 364): 356- Houston Christian 327- Chicago State 364 (dead last)- Mississippi Valley State It is stat padding time and Cole Bott should be checking in with 5 minutes left in the second half in every one of these games. The NET system is set up to benefit the teams who blow out the awful teams (Chris Beard staple) and it will punish you if you win a game by 18 that you should have won by 30. Aside from that aspect, I would really like to see Pope and Larry get comfortable initiating the offense.
  21. $18 million buyout for a basketball coach is borderline insane. IIRC, we waited a week to hire Beard so his buyout would drop from $5 million to $4 million and that was considered a lot at the time. I think there will be good candidates outside of the obvious ones that people always try to will into existence (Brad Stevens, Jay Wright, some random NBA coach, etc.).
  22. Oats has a buyout of $18 million.
  23. Texas kicking the tires on a kicker in the 2025 class, per 247 Texas signed one specialist on scholarship last cycle in punter Michael Kern. The Longhorns added another via the preferred walk-on route in local kicker Spencer Barnett. Now, Texas could potentially be in play to make a move on another specialist in 2025. Iowa kicker commit Scott Starzyk appears to be on the radar as a possible late add. Sources relay to Horns247 that there could be a window of opportunity to flip The Woodlands product as December draws closer. Texas and Texas A&M are the two schools to watch, we're told. Michigan made a run at Starzyk earlier this fall but came up short. One source believes the Lone Star state product would like to stay closer to home. The Under Armour All-American kicker remains pledged to the Hawkeyes at this point, but he's another 2025 recruit worth watching down the stretch if he opens his process back up.
  24. He is on track to be a NBA head coach as soon as next year. Even if you put the fact he played at Texas aside, he is pretty highly thought of in basketball circles. The concern with him would be more of the fact he has never coached in college before so there would be recruiting and roster building question marks. It’s a tough adjustment for a lot of coaches.
