  1. Nothing like trying to hire someone to cover a sport when the season starts in 6 days
  2. Gerry said Tramon Mark had a rolled ankle and didn’t participate in the scrimmage. Sounds like he may be questionable for the opener next week.
  3. Well his daughter picks out cool balloons for our recruiting events!
  4. Gerry said he went for 31. Said Texas led by as many as 17 and won 79-75.
  5. Do you really think a coach is ever going to publicly rip into or heavily criticize a player to the media? He told us everything we need to know by pulling the guy in the biggest regular season game this program has had in probably 15 years. We’ll see if he’s able to continue to scheme up stuff with one arm tied behind his back.
  6. Last thought here but that last Vandy TD drive was such classic prevent PK. Twice in that drive we asked our two edge rushers to sit back and spy??? Then on the Broughton targeting penalty it looks like he was trying to spy (backed up at the snap). On the TD play they brought in Vasek for his only defensive snap of the game? Him being out there didn’t matter but just thought that was weird all the way around.
  7. I’m not saying he’s getting fired. I’m just saying the frustration level will grow. He wasted an all time offense last year with a Heisman winning QB because the defense was all-time bad and a lot of LSU fans I know are still pissed about that.
  8. LSU should be 4-4 right now. They got absolute gifts against South Carolina and Ole Miss. The honeymoon is over for Kelly in Baton Rouge and if he loses to Bama in two weeks it won’t be pretty.
  9. Guilbeau. Yeah, that was the oh shit moment where he realized taking a normal angle wasn’t going to cut it. It got much better after that.
  10. Rewatching the game now. -I know it infuriates @BurntOrange&White but Michael Taaffe is going to play in the NFL. -We probably lost about 50 rushing yards due to stupid holding penalties, several of which were iffy at best -Pass pro was more of an issue than run blocking to the point above. Rough few weeks for Cam Williams. -The 1H sack where a guy ran free between Conner and Majors was definitely on Jaydon Blue. -This RB group has in the bottom half of the SEC. If a play is blocked for 4 yards, they get you 3 before tripping on a blade of grass. They also are guilty of contributing on a couple of the holding penalties where they needlessly ran around their blocking. -Best game Trey Moore has played all year. -Pavia’s first run went for 18 yards (TD). His next 15 carries went for 49 yards. Completely controlled his legs. -Not going to the portal for a punter was egregious. We win this game by 17 if Ryan Sanborn is on this team. -Warren Roberson needs to be removed from special teams until further notice. 3 penalties in the return game in 2 games.
  11. The one in the first half where the guy came right between Majors and Conner, I wonder if they thought Blue was picking up that man. It wasn’t like that was a delayed blitz or a well disguised play so I have a tough time believing two guys like 70+ starts between them just let a dude run free right between them Blue ended up blocking no one and the guy flashed right in front of his face if I remember correctly.
  12. Why am I not surprised you can’t count
  13. Jelani McDonald is going to be a dude. It’s nice to finally have a talented and coherent secondary. No more Jerrin Thompson and Kitan Crawford running around aimlessly.
  14. I mean, that’s why they call it an average. I also think our RBs have incredibly low IQ. A few times they ran around a hole and basically assisted in a holding penalty getting called.
  15. How many drives did Vandy truly stop us without the help of a penalty or INT? 1 maybe 2? Some of the calls were BS but it’s infuriating to see this veteran OL do stupid stuff.
  16. I hope the bye week helps him deal with whatever he is dealing with but I’m not holding my breath. I think there is about 40% of the playbook we cant use right now, which is beyond frustrating because we should have put up 450+ yards and 35+ points today. People will blame the running game but our two RBs combined for over 4.6 yards per carry. The holes were there for large stretches.
  17. Craig Way interviewed Terry yesterday. A few interesting things he mentioned was we were +18 in the rebounding battle against TCU and he thought Jordan Pope had some Max Abmas in his game as a scorer. One thing he said he didn’t like was the number of fouls we committed.
  18. This is one of the worst QB classes I’ve ever seen, which is part of the reason why he’ll still declare and get overdrafted. That is what NFL teams and dumb GM’s do nowadays. Maybe it would be good for the guy to go in the 3rd round and go to a place where he can sit and watch for a few years since the dude has been rushed every second of his life since his junior year of high school.
  19. Team notes from IT
  20. FCB with a few notes
  21. I was encouraged by what the defense showed Saturday but we definitely benefited from some key drops. I was also puzzled that we seemed surprised by Georgia’s screen game when that is a Bobo staple. They seemed to be targeting Guilbeau quite a bit when they had to have a play. Teams also must see something on film for the flea flicker to be continually dialed up. That was the 3rd or 4th time we’ve seen it this year. Overall a winning effort but I think we can go to another level. The offense and special teams definitely dealt them a shit hand.
  22. His agent was on an Austin radio station yesterday and said Ewers was meeting with a coach during the availability.
  23. No. The offensive plan, especially in the first half, was horrible and the supporting cast around Ewers was bad. We made some good adjustments in the second half but good schemes and stuff on a whiteboard doesn’t beat Georgia. They haven’t lost to a school not named Alabama since Covid. Our great players and great playcaller needed to be great and too many guys we depend on (Sark, Ewers, Wisner, some of the OL) came up well short. I think Arch could have bailed us out of some stuff but we still lose that game and his stat line wouldn’t have looked pretty having to try to evade that pass rush.
  24. He also said Xavier Worthy was fine all of 2022 and it comes out he was playing the second half of the year with a broken hand. He is never going to publicly admit someone is playing hurt. That puts a huge target on their back for opposing teams. A buddy of mine who knows a GA said there were conversations on the headsets about making a QB change well before Arch actually got inserted into the game. The leash is definitely short.
