  1. Michigan OL Deep Dig from Dunlap on OB
  2. Strength of schedule won't be an issue this year with that conference slate and the two tournaments we are playing in.
  3. Vegas doesn't do the transitive property. We lost to OSU in 2022, and the next week, OSU lost to Kansas State 48-0; then we were somehow favored against K-State the following week, so surely that line was off, right?? We covered. Vegas usually knows what they are doing. -35 is pretty much right where the Colorado State line closed, and I would guess that UTSA is rated higher than CSU in most places, so the fact the lines are identical shows Vegas, at the very least, has upgraded Texas several notches the first two weeks of the season.
  4. He wouldn't this year for Texas, but their #1 WR Devin McCuin is good. Was a stud in HS coming out of east Texas and caught 42 passes for over 500 yards as a freshman last year. Really, really fast. Maybe he'll portal up after this season.
  5. Might be as simple as Davis and Helm like contact and blocking, and Niblack does not. He seems to be a receiving-only threat that is probably gameplan-dependent.
  6. This is funny because Elko will have to release an injury report this week with the new rules and a SEC game on Saturday. No more keeping secrets or keeping the media on a leash.
  7. Defensive Deep Dig from Dunlap on OB
  8. Eh, I think they are still a bowl team. Traylor will figure some stuff out and they are still better than schools like FAU, Rice, Temple and East Carolina (all on their schedule in the American). Disagree on worst team Texas will play all year. The spread next week against ULM might be around -40. They are horrible.
  9. I like UTSA’s two DT’s (Brown and Evans). Traylor mentioned on an podcast this summer that Evans was offered six figures by some P5 programs to portal. Other than that though, it’s not very pretty. As someone pointed out earlier that 2022 team had 3 P5 level receivers and Frank Harris pulling the trigger. This year the offense had averaged 2.2 and 2.7 yards per rush against Kennesaw State and Texas State. Part of being a good coach is knowing the timing of when it’s time to leave. Traylor should have got out in the last few years. I think he’s a good coach and I’m sure he’ll have a trick or two up his sleeve to try to drag us into the mud for a few quarters but he just doesn’t have the horses this year.
  10. I’ve wondered that too. I noticed Ole Miss also plays 4 straight non con games to open the year and doesn’t have the November cupcake.
  11. I think they just put the backup in once the game got out of hand.
  12. Gerry said tonight that Myron Charles told Sark on Friday he was flipping
  13. I still think their DL is pretty legit. Not many Big Ten teams will have a playcaller and QB like yesterday who can push all the right buttons and scheme around a lot of what they like to do. It can't be emphasized enough how nice it is to have offensive continuity and creativity year in and year out. There was some stat years ago about us cycling through like 8 different offensive playcallers in a 9-year stretch prior to 2021.
  14. 8-4 seems likely for Michigan. Maybe an outside shot at 7-5 if things really fall apart. Their defense will be able to carry them against the likes of Arkansas State, Illinois, Minnesota, Washington, Michigan State, Indiana and Northwestern. USC, Ohio State and Oregon is where they are in deep trouble. Orji must have had the worst fall camp of all time. I feel like their best path to offensive success is building a creative running game around him. There is no need to try to have any real semblance of a drop back passing game with the receivers they are running out there.
  15. Silas Bolden has 1 catch through 2 games and we had to throw our 5-star freshman WR a bone today on an end-around since he hadn’t touched the ball yet and he almost housed it. That’s how good we have it.
  16. I always thought some of the criticism of Baker was odd because these big time DT recruitments often come down to a lot of factor$ outside the control of the position coach. But I do credit Baker with the relationship building part and helping get some of these OOS DT’s to campus for visits. Oftentimes that is half the battle and his job should hopefully get easier as he gets skins on the wall and has a good product on the field to sell.
  17. I had flashbacks to the Arkansas game in 2021 when there was a cheap shot on Card and the OL just stood there. What a difference a few years make.
  18. Michigan players too worried about searching their name on Twitter after the game
  19. Seems like we have enough lines in the water at DL right now to feel pretty confident we will end up in a good spot. If those spots get filled, you are 1 more LB and 1 more CB away from hitting on all the need areas in the class outside of maybe an elite OT. It was an interesting and bumpier-than-expected ride to get to this point but this class has come together nicely.
  20. I remember when LHN first started they had Mack doing the rewind show on Monday, a gameplan show in the middle of the week, and, I think, another show on Thursday. I can't remember if it was Mack or Charlie who eventually said I am doing the rewind show only and that is it for the week.
  21. There would be people bitching that the announcer is slanting their commentary in favor of the team he picked to win, so the stations just tell them to be neutral. It usually works as long as your name isn't Tim Brando.
  22. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The way the QB position has been recruited, we can absorb a one-year miss pretty easily. Also, Dia Bell in 2026 is a stud.
  23. OL Deep-Dig from Alex Dunlap (best game from the offensive tackle position in the 13 years he has been doing the deep dig)
