  1. They promoted some other dude (name escapes me) to take Glasscock's Director of Player Personnel position. Harris bypassed that spot and went straight to the top of the pyramid when the GM role was created. Harris' current position seems to be more geared towards the overall management of the recruiting team, strategy, and knowing and dealing with the deci$ion makers as opposed to sitting in the film room watching portal prospects like a player personnel person might. The roles of GM and DPP seem to be pretty different. Now, is Harris fit for either of those roles? That is a fair argument.
  2. Sims is way better. Once you get past the obvious names (Charles, Wynn, Williams, Brown), Sims is who they should be focusing their flip efforts on. A Sharma/Charles/Sims 3-man class would be acceptable in my eyes with a 4th guy if it makes sense or just use that spot for the portal. The 2025 DT class was never going to be the solution for the 2025 DT depth chart. The portal was always going to be the primary source in plugging those holes. But a solid 2025 DT haul would be a good first step in trying to get us out of the cycle of seemingly needing 4 quality DT's every damn year out of pure necessity.
  3. It should have been an immediate red flag when Ketch flipped his prediction from A&M to Texas on Sanders two days ago.

  5. I’ve heard the mental eval for Sanders is questionable at best, but we backed ourselves into a corner with the results of other DT recruitments and had to hope for a wildcard recruitment to go our way. Lots of eggs in the flip basket of Myron Charles.
  6. Why? Guy was a total JAG which is why he ended up at Nevada.
  7. Baxter and Blue complement each other well. I’m glad Blue showed something after I shit on him after the Wyoming game, but he has still never carried the ball more than 10 times in a college game and is not an ideal between the tackles runner. I sure hope he isn’t touching it at Bijan levels.
  8. There is no way this is happening because surely they aren't that stupid but I'd like to think that all the funds they had to divert to baseball to try to clap back at mean ole Texas is hurting their NIL for football. A far more realistic view is the staff Elko put together is just pretty average on the recruiting trail across the board and that is why they are seeing average results.
  9. I keep forgetting about Jay'Vion Cole. I would hope he can pass Holmes at some point. I'm sure we will see hockey line shifts week 1 in the secondary as they throw guys in the fire. It should be a decent test as the only thing Colorado State can do competently is throw the ball.
  10. Correct. So he's going to try to balance both in the spring after enrolling in January, likely won't play summer ball anywhere as he tries to establish himself on the football field, then likely won't pick up a baseball in the fall as his head swims from being a freshman football player. The path for this ending well is extremely narrow, and this doesn't even factor in the position question mark on the football field with him preferring safety but probably being a better fit at LB.
  11. There are so many red flags in this thing. So now he is going to enroll 6 weeks before the college baseball season starts after playing HS football all fall and try to participate in spring football practice at the same time? So, his freshman year in baseball will basically be a throwaway year, which is a great way to start as someone who is going to try to play both sports at a high level in an era where you rarely see anyone do it.
  12. That travel note is interesting. Galveston to Baton Rouge: About 4 hours 45 minutes Galveston to Austin: About 3 hours 30 minutes Galveston to College Station: About 2 hours 30 minutes Galveston to Eugene: Lol
  13. Not according to Gerry. Baseball in college this coming spring while doing spring football.
  14. It's a decent non-con schedule overall when you factor in who is in the Legends Class (Saint Joseph's, Tech and Syracuse), but there isn't much middle ground between Q1 opponent and one of the worst teams in the country. 4 of the 5 good matchups are away from Moody. No one will get up for that home schedule outside of Uconn but I guess they don't schedule for fans and it's better than last year's non-con home schedule that featured nothing.
  15. You logged into the wrong account @JFKFC
  16. More interested in what they recommended as the "don't miss" local establishments
  17. That doesn't bode well for his chances of being a baseball contributor this year (and maybe ever at Texas). He needs development, and he ain't getting it standing around with the walk-ons during football practice this fall.
  18. I heard he was much more impressive on the mound than with the bat at that tournament, which is interesting because you usually hear more about him as an outfielder. Something that raised my eyebrow is that he tried out for the Area Code team this summer but wasn't selected, and pro scouts put that roster together. Maybe he just had a bad day at the tryout but that is typically an event you need to play in if you are going to be a slam dunk high school selection.
  19. From what I know about him, he is more tools than production right now. He doesn't/hasn't played a ton against high-end competition, and when he has, his bat has apparently been really shaky. But he can really run and is up to 93-94 from the left side on the mound and that will grab the attention of any team. MLB teams have really shied away from investing heavily (day 1 type money) in high schoolers with his type of profile in recent years. I think a 50/50 chance of him making it to campus sounds about right currently, but it honestly may come down to what sport he prefers because the number of guys who play both at a high level in college is basically zero and I don't see Jonah Williams as Kyler Murray. And if he prefers baseball, that might bring the draft more into play because he could be willing to sign for a reasonable amount.
