  1. Another series highly recommended are the Matthew Scudder novels by Lawrence Block. They begin with The Sins Of The Fathers.
  2. Your Mom culturally appropriated my hot tamale just last night...
  3. If you have to order, these are perfectly fine. Texas Tamale Co – Texas Tamale Co.
  4. Has anyone mentioned Pound Town 101 yet? Cuz many of your Moms have been attending my class.
  5. Connolly’s Charlie Parker books are an all-time favorite. Begins with Every Dead Thing. Bill Pronzini’s Nameless Detective is another. Starts with The Snatch. John D. MacDonald’s Travis McGee novels as well. Begins with The Deep Blue Good-Bye. All 3 series completely different from the other. Hopefully, you’ll find something you like.
  6. Research Back Door Roth IRA. Profit. Thank me later.
  7. You can't contribute directly to a Roth, but you can rollover INTO one, right?
  8. But you're gonna bitch about it anyway, huh? Username definitely checks out. I'll blow my lines all I want, and I'll thank you to stay out of my private life, you prevert!
  9. Cocktails were great, service was great, seafood was great. Been there 3 separate times and never had a bad time. Shit happens, though.
  10. The Historic New Orleans Collection has an interactive Notre Dame exhibit until March. Was pretty damn impressive.
  11. You probably got more than what you wanted...but for date night with your girl, I'm gonna say Nonna, Ostra, or Otro / Domingo. Good panty-dropping places...ha!
  12. I’m gonna assume you’re flying solo. Weather depending, head to either Esquire or Otro balcony bar (why not bith?). Have drinks. Admire scenery. Evaluate targets. Have food at either, or get a serious meal at Domingo. Relocate to Ostra. More drinks, scenery, targets, and possible munchies again. Slightly staggering to Waxy O’Connors at this point. Repeat full protocol as necessary. Munchies and drinks at Boudro’s at this point, if you’re sober enough. Before you crawl into the Menger, pop into Pat O’Briens. Repeat full protocol. Ask for Lin. She’s fun. If you’re an absolute glutton for punishment and wanna run previous protocols once more, end up at Durty Nelly’s, but beware…you have overshot your hotel at this point. Where you sleep at this point is completely unknown. Have fun!
  13. If he’s walking that way, I would say Domingo instead. On your own? Or with a chick?
  14. Mrs. irth is too busy being a 1%er to assemble furniture.
  15. I feel the same way about the Public Rec Every Day Pants
  16. I had the same problem with my Polywood patio furniture. 18 boxes and 600# total. I’m a handy guy, but it still took 10 hours of labor and beer drinking to unpack, assemble, break down, and dispose. Was quite vexing.
  17. Very rustic and full of great ingredients. Big thumbs up from me!
  18. I would posit that you've never had good corned beef, then.
  19. Are you keeping track of his comments on your spreadsheet?
  20. Not suggesting that at all. Why can't I make both? I have a good friend (misplaced Texan in Atlanta) that makes the best brisket (repeatedly) I've ever had. Mine is a consistent close second.
  21. Buya Ramen. Go for the cocktails…stay for the soup. Tell Brunch I said “Hello!”
  22. Some of us do. And have for years. I’m sorry that you’ll never know the joys of transcendental Beef.
  23. Doesn't everyone?
  24. Equally creepy and fun. Bit of an Evil Dead 2 vibe. I liked it, too.
  25. It was a real winner. I made a white queso and even threw a few fried eggs on top.
