  1. $389 at Total Wine in the Woodlands. So smooth, that it almost ceases to be Scotch. A very sweet after-dinner sipping concoction. Was a one-time splurge, and there’s certainly nothing bad about it, but I will stick with the Balvenie 21 in the future.
  2. People who use the phrase “lighten up”. Usually, they’re the ones that started shit in the first place.
  3. Dousing, huh? Feel free to shank yourself. Just busting balls...
  4. Also posted this in the "listening right now" thread. Fresh out of the mailbox from 20 Buck Spin. The Chronicle just did an article on Nate as well. I hope that his new Texas home treats him well. https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2020-10-16/spirit-adrift-album-review/ https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2020-10-16/spirit-adrifts-nathan-garrett-lands-his-astral-metal-rocket-in-bastrop/

    Post Rock

I'm more of a Metalhead, but these guys are considered Post Rock. A few albums under their belt, too.
  6. Fresh out of the mailbox. Enlightened In Eternity, the 4th full-length platter from this ever-growing savior of Doom. Austin Chronicle just put up a review and article as well. https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2020-10-16/spirit-adrift-album-review/ https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2020-10-16/spirit-adrifts-nathan-garrett-lands-his-astral-metal-rocket-in-bastrop/
  7. He can go the fuck back to St. Louis, then...
  8. Username does not check out...or does it...?
  9. I use the Moppin' Sauce quite a bit on Chicken and Ribs. Love that stuff!
  10. It’s the only BBQ sauce that graces this house, and even then, it gets used sparingly. There’s hardly a need for sauce with my cooking, but I do use it when making Burnt Ends. I also thin it with Coke and use it as a mop baste on grilled Chicken or Pork occasionally. What’s your problem with Stubb’s? That dude’s a legend.
  11. The linked article from 1973 was an interesting read as well.
  12. Too hungry to do some fancy slicing and picture taking, but here’s the gist: Lightly-toasted Bread. Bottom bread smeared with Stubb’s Spicy. Piece of Aged Swiss. Some Holmes Sausage links, heated up for meltiness of the Swiss. Some of my Pulled Pork tossed in my Mustard Slather and heated up. 2 American Slices to melt on top. Mayo on top Bread. Lunch, some mindless TV, and random laziness on a Tuesday.
  13. Go to Freiheit. Thank me later.
  14. Is PIBC still around? Been gone 5 years.
  15. I like it, too. In a blind test with standard Elijah, though, I preferred the Elijah. Can’t quite blame them for profit-taking a bit, but doing away with the HH6 seems like a crime.
  16. Tater says “what?”
  17. Cross-posting in the Bourbon thread, too: One of these was $19. The other was not. One of these is approximately 6 years old. The other is not. Both bottles were the last of their kind in the shelf. Only one was in a locked cabinet. Both of them are delicious, though.

Both of them are delicious, though. Fairly expensive haul at The Woodlands Total Wine, along with a few cases of beer for restocking the garage.
  19. Username totally does NOT check out.
  20. As long as you’re not overloading the outlet/breaker, I can recommend these.
  21. The elder statesmen of the Bay Area rock scene, playing alongside Heart, Eddie Money, and Sammy Hagar in the early days. Respect must be given. Especially in this goddam household. God bless Dave Meniketti.
  22. When my wife (no pics) and I got married and bought our first house, I had to insure her violins separately. I had no fucking idea. Some of them are Paesolds...? I don’t know shit, but they sound awesome to me... Just a humblebrag (I guess). Carry on.
