  1. Old gf of mine is a bar manager there. I pop in to catch up with her when I’m there. Place is always a little shittier than it was the time before.
  2. I figured I would start with the casino, piss away the mortgage, buy drinks for hookers, etc. An interesting bar or food rec would not hurt, though. Would prefer divey locals joints than the touristy stuff. Nice to know the hotel is decent. Thanks!
  3. Bumping this. Gonna be stuck in Bossier City at the Marriott Courtyard on the boardwalk for 3 days next week. Looks like I'm sandwiched between a casino and an outlet mall. I'm usually pretty savvy at getting out and exploring on my own, but does anyone have anything interesting to get into there?

Another thumbs up for the Dickens Inn here. Very nice place to hang out and goof off. A bit premature to get excited about, but we are booked for the holidays. High-rollin' in First Class from DFW to LHR on Thanksgiving Day. Three week stay at a flat in Wapping on the Thames. Gonna soak up the Christmas season, see some shows, and...I dunno yet. But...we're booked! Woohoo!
  5. Things I had to Google while reading this thread. Aerial America Modest Mouse Fuck it, man...I'm still cool. Always have been. Just turned 52 and settled down quite a bit, but I'm still the sociable, mostly extroverted, hard-rockin' guy that I've always been. Raised on proper manners with a decent education that I've only barely utilized. Mostly did things my way and also learned from my mistakes. I have friendships that have lasted decades, my hobbies have always been the same, I still dress the same, still (apparently) have sex appeal, married to an adorable nerd who's way too good for me. Despite my ever-declining opinion of mankind, I genuinely like people, and they seem to like me, so...I must be doing something right. What I don't give a fuck about: changing pop-culture trends, television, personal drama, and society's growing narcissism. But yeah...I might be THAT dude banging my head to Whitesnake in the grocery store. While I'm picking out that perfect brisket for the weekend...
  6. A balmy 38 here. Killed a last splash of Weller 12. Killed a last splash of Eagle Rare. Cheers from Lufkin, farkers!
  7. Ab Fab (Absolutely Fabulous) with Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, and Julia Sawalha...great show.
  8. You didn’t really clearly state anything. “I’m all app’d out” seems like a bit of a beta response. I’m sorry you’re so goddam sensitive on a message board. And I’m sorry that don’y really wanna try that hard to find your (evidently) beloved British shows that you’ve never seen. How much googling did you have to do for that response? Triggered much?
  9. So...you really don't want to watch any of those programs, you just wanted to bitch about BBC "AMERICA" and their pandering to Americans. How dare they? You could also spring for a better cable package that actually includes the BBC and BBC News, instead. But you probably won't, because that would be, yet another, solution to your problem. And you wouldn't want to have one less thing to bitch about, would ya?
  10. Dunno if it’s been mentioned, but the recent Jimmy Johns commercials are really becoming unnecessarily unhinged. It’s good that Brad Garrett is getting a paycheck, but what’s the point of it all?
  11. Seems like you might've been spending too much time with your "friend" instead of your wife. Also...what fucked up community are you living in? I'm fairly rural, and I still have most of my wits about me.
  12. Picked some up at $1.75 a few days ago. Sold at $5.35 yesterday. Not gonna make me rich, but it's nice to have a fat % return.
  13. I’ve read it. All my friends have read it. Most of my family have read it. I probably know 30 people who have read it.
  14. What kinda features does a $2500 recliner have?
  15. I ate many a Super Taco on my tailgate, watching the Hildebrand traffic go by. Mostly, was hungover and trying to fortify for a golf round. Ah, to be young again.
  16. How large is your traditional IRA (if you feel comfortable sharing? If it is not terribly large, you roll it over, pay your dummy tax (if you can stomach it) for not doing it sooner, and then begin to annually make contributions to roll over like you mentioned above. Yes, the pro-rata issue sucks, but...that's gonna be how you get started. Absorb that tutorial I posted...it's designed to handle your exact situation.
