  1. John Blake was 1-2 against Texas. The bad loss to Texas back in 1998 forced him out. Gary Gibbs was 1-4 against Texas and they pushed him out at the end of the 1994. season. Unlike Texas, OU will not take losing to their archrival lying down.
  2. While I am not happy with what has happened last week, I am confident that the team can win all of its remaining games provided that leaders on the team come forward.
  3. The difference in that time and this one I hope is that there not be any UT fans out there trying to negatively recruit against Coach Sark like they did against Coach Akers. That will not happen again as long I am living. That is why the drop off occurred. That and the fact that there was cheating and dirty recruiting going on in the SWC at the time. I remember that when I reported for UT football back in 1984 as a student manager the overall lack of high quality talent in the 1984 recruiting class. The collapse in the 1984 season occurred because of a locker division between the offensive and defensive. By the time I caught onto what was happening, it was too late. I apologize to all Longhorn fans for letting that happen.
  4. RIP Bam Bam IMHO, Steve McMichael was one of the most intense UT players I ever saw live. Texas fans forget that he kept future All American and Lobardi Trophy winner Kenneth Sime RIP on the bench for 2 years. They also forgot that he was the backup place kicker for UT as well. Subbing for Russell Erxeleben back in 1977 against bear and aggy, Steve McMichael scored 14 points that included 2 booming 48 yard FGs.
  5. Ah yes, the offensive coaching genius from Groves, TX. The one coach that Mack Brown made a millionaire because he was afraid some other school would poach him. No thanks, Greg Davis has taken years off my life with some of his playcalling.
  6. Considering that 50 years ago, OU was rewarded a MNC by the AP Poll even though they were on probation and banned from any bowl appearance. AP Poll's position was that they are not in the business of policing college football.
  7. That would be absolutely crazy. Do people think that Coach Sark is going to leave? I'm sure that aggy and sooner would be delighted as well as those in the UT hating press. Then again, Mack is back in town
  8. I agree with you about the rule. That is something that you will need to take up with the Big XII. You and the other former PAC 12 programs will soon find out how bad the football(and basketball) officiating really is, Utah has already complained about it. I Know that ASU will have issues in the future.
  9. I watched the Big XII Championship game and did not think that the Shamari SImmons hit on the ISU QB was not targeting and did not warrant ejection. Just my honest opinion.
  10. There are a lot of so-called college football fans out there that go bat shit crazy in their hatred of UT. Never totally understood it. Maybe they aspire to be dumber than sooner or aggy fans.
  11. Yes, they do, Teams like aggy and ou play "politics" with UT is those sort of situations too. They know that sports writers and columnist both locally and nationally will naturally take their side. They will write columns or state opinions that tries to tarnish UT's image. That is the difference between UT fans and the others.
  12. Amazing what a mobile QB can do to this Georgia defense.
  13. That last Georgia playcall reminded me of that shovel pass we did in the 2010 BCS National Championship near the end of the 1st Half. Completely and utterly dumb.
  14. After looking at the helmets, who does Baylor think they are? Oregon?
  15. So far Alabama is showing why they lost to OU.
  16. Bobby Burton naturally forgot to ask Mack that if he loved UT so much then why did he tell players to go elsewhere in December 2013.
  17. Please, oh please 8 lb. 6 oz baby Jesus ...keep Mack away from the UT program
  18. I don't envision this part happening as long as Chris Del Conte is in charge. But if Del Conte ever leaves and UT gets another Deloss Dodds type AD the watch out.
  19. I agree . This could be a terrible hire for UNC. They were not wrong in getting rid of Mack though.
  20. The question was asked "why did Fred Akers brought in to replace Darrell Royal?" The main reason was because of his earlier ties to Texas football. He was considered to be one of Royal's better recruiters. Matter of fact. Coach Akers recruited a lot of the 1967 UT class that is still considered to be one of the best in the school's history. (The myth that Royal was just recruiting players to keep them from competing against him started with this class).Coach Akers was considered to be an up and coming coach that would fit the new image of UT. He also brought in a new updated concept of defense to the equation. He also hailed from a school that absolutely hates Texas(Arkansas). While he was friends and former teammate of Barry Switzer, Coach Akers understood the meaning of the OU game. He would never invite Barry Switzer to speak with any Teas team like Mack Brown did. one time. When Mack did that, it was like him spitting on Coach Royal's face. He knew how Coach Royal felt about Switzer.
  21. Hailing from North Dallas, I agree that SMU is not really a religious school, It's more a drunken rich frat boy school that used to have some really obnoxious fans especially during the Mustang Mania days, IMHO, they live in a bubble over in the Park Cities. It was really unbearable during the Mustang Mania days when they were obviously cheating and the local press did not seem to care. With that said, I have to give the Mustangs their due tonight. They fought hard all night against a very bad start. Yes, they should be a playoff team.
  22. Very important response from SMU, Question is...can they stop Clemson's offense?
  23. 14-0 Clemson,,what? This has all the makings of a blowout right now
  24. Just watching this College Gameday always reminds me of the old saying: Aggies are God's way of telling us that he all wants us to laugh and be happy!
  25. Mack Brown is great in restoring programs just don't ask him to win championships. He doesn't know how. Nor is he willing to make the changes necessary to win them. It was flat out depressing that Mack appeared be satisfied in having OU take over the Big XII.
