  1. I hated all the hogs when i was on a lease in East Texas. After moving to Arkansas to hunt i never see any. Not sure if its the mountains or the bears but they are few and far between. I miss having a chance at one.
  2. The Hornady 143g eldx seems to be the round of choice for the 6.5. The debate always goes back to shot placement and round selection.
  3. Had i asked better questions that's what i would own.
  4. I’m a relatively new hunter and only own the 1 rifle. When I was getting ready to purchase the gun I asked multiple people what I should get. Most answered “if I was buying a gun now I’d buy a 6.5”. What didn’t get said was they all owned multiple other calibers and it would add to the collection…not start it. I should have asked better questions.
  5. Great entry with no pass through. All energy was delivered on impact and he took literally 0 steps. Cleanest I’ve had one lay down but I typically shoot a 6.5 cm.
  6. 30 yards. Arkansas changed black powder season to alternative firearms so we can use straight wall cartridges. This is the perfect gun for the creek bottoms i hunt. Can't wait to get it back out and get a bit longer shot.
  7. My 1st Arkansas buck. Came in working a scrape line at 7:45. Lever action 357 worked really well. Nice entry with no pass through. All energy delivered and he laid straight down.
  8. Maybe they will finally decide heroin and cocaine are less dangerous than marijuana? The reps wont and I'm tired of driving to Oklahoma for weed and Louisiana for casinos. And before you say just gamble in Oklahoma i hate buying $2 beers and paying antes to suck so bad at blackjack.
  9. Which one of them doesn't believe marijuana is more dangerous than cocaine? That's who I'm voting for. If you stand on that lie you cant be trusted with anything.
  10. I hunt a weird valley in a dense creek bottom that gets dark early. Ive heard gun shots well before and well after possible for me. I have a gravity feeder at spot that i bow hunt.
  11. I'm at 8am and 4pm in prep for a 7/3 feed after time change. Too lazy to actually just go change it.
  12. The last game i watched in its entirety had Zeke playing center and getting destroyed shortly after Dak yelled "here we go". Now i just come to work and laugh at the people still dying with this team each weekend.
  13. Not the greatest quality with my phone but I watched this guy for an hour. That branch is 27 yards and will be cut for gun season. The pic is as close as he got. IMG_3924.mov
  14. First time we’ve seen this one on camera. That feeder went in Saturday.
  15. Doesn’t take the bears long to figure out they are being hunted. After opening weekend haven’t 829efec0-18a5-49b6-8046-ac428e13928b.mov had one on camera. The deer come back almost immediately when the bears leave. 200 pounds of corn dumped on the ground was gone in 2 weeks. Put 150 pounds on the ground Sunday and will be back Friday. 829efec0-18a5-49b6-8046-ac428e13928b.mov
  16. I understand both of those points. Some mornings that pop up feels damn safe tho.
  17. I have an unnatural fear of big cats in the dark and snapping turtles when i cant see my feet in the water. What part of Oklahoma are you in? I'm 20 minutes east of Broken Bow and am hoping you aren't close to me. Yes im aware there could be others. The old timers say they havent seen one in 10+ years around our place.
  18. A dead head I found. Took pic with my phone.
  19. Those guys are hunting a better herd of deer too. When we left east Texas a couple of year ago some of my friends went to the Childress area and spent more money. I wanted to chase some bears for awhile and then fell in love with the place. Edit: Because of the bears year round feeding is impossible. They are a destructive group of animals.
  20. Arkansas archery opener this coming weekend. Still have multiple active bears coming in. Bear season technically opened this past weekend but family and their 25th wedding anniversaries kept me home. Someone up thread mentioned joining a lease late. I'm on 1600 acres in southern Arkansas and the locals complain about pricing quite frequently so most of my lease is Texans. $700 a gun for year round access. We almost always have an opening or 2. Out of state license is pricey so it offsets some of the cheap land. Please dont tell anyone thats a slapass but feel free to have someone reach out if interested. Gillham Arkansas is closest town. 20 minutes east of Broken Bow for a different reference point. IMAG0083.avi
  21. I mostly sim and roster build. I've found you get much less shitty simming outcomes if you go into the game and sim from there versus just advancing the week from the main menu. It doesn't fix all the cheesy sim stuff but it helps.
  22. It might suck for those that love the Indian Ocean but could help with our drought conditions.
  23. 1e6d0ca8-9602-49c0-8465-4fdbce11115b.mov Figured out how to better upload the videos.
