  1. XIT was at the east end of the strip center; Birraporetti's was at the west end.
  2. actually, I was wrong, 55 would have gotten a save had he finished the game.
  3. It is well-documented that you grew up inside the loop ...
  4. People who live in the Village equate "Memorial" to the Villages or the area zoned to MHS. Many others equate it to areas serviced by the road. I've had people who live in the Kickerillo development west of Eldridge tell me they live in Memorial, and I've had someone who lived in the fancy area east of the park and south of Memorial Dr. tell me they live in Memorial. And we all know the Village po-po would have cited the guy for having his pet off leash before leaving the property.
  5. It all depends on who you ask. Some equate "Memorial" with the Memorial-area Villages. Others equate it with the areas serviced by Memorial Drive. Memorial HS is in Hedwig Village, which puts it within any reasonable definition of "Memorial"
  6. you probably know this, but the folks who live in 77024 believe that the western edge of "Memorial" is BW8
  7. According the HPD press conf, he also has two pet monkeys, which may or may not be with him and the tiger, and which are not illegal if they are under 30 lbs. "Man who leases house in what may or may not be considered Memorial, but which is definitely not Spring, escapes with pet tiger and possibly two legal thin monkeys or two illegal fat monkeys while out on bond for murder in Ft. Bend County."
  8. she is great in Peaky Blinders DL's best role not even mentioned. smh
  9. On the Texans' off-season thread, The Earl of Texas said "Tyrod deal not bad really, but that aside, signings have been generally not bad. I’m surprised at the not badness of the overall quality of the deals. Thought we were in full on tank mode." Interesting that as soon as Caserio starts making not bad deals, DW4's camp significantly slows or stops their social media campaign ...
  10. And to think, just 14 months ago, the Texans had a three score lead on KC in the second round of the playoffs ... I do not want DW4 traded, but do agree that the fastest way for the Texans to get better is to trade him and get a haul of picks/players. But does anyone have any faith that the Texans can pull off a rebuild from a draft, cap, and/or PR perspective? The Astros let people know they were tearing down and rebuilding, and stressed patience. Different leagues and cap rules, I know, but they handled it well from a PR perspective. The Texans are a PR disaster and can't stay out of their own way. As long as Easterby is involved, no one will trust that they will make the correct decisions. At the end of the day, the NFL is a copycat, don't think outside the box league where top 5 QB's just aren't traded. So, Casserio is not going want to step out the box and do so. If DW4 is traded, it will be because of Easterby and the return likely will be insufficient. FWIW, if one sets aside any mistrust and hatred of the organization, cutting JJ and Martin and Duke; restructuring David Johnson; and signing Britt, all are decent moves.
  11. Not sure he'll miss whole year, but he's likely out for a while. I read that the longest anyone has missed with this type of injury was 100 games. With the season not even underway, that likely puts a projected return around the ASG. [emoji1696]
  12. The new CBA is designed to prevent holdouts and trade demands. The NFL does not want to become the NBA. The league wants the Texans to hold firm.
  13. NFL wants warriors not malcontents and quitters. I feel for DW4 because he wants to win, but half-assing it is not the way to go. Fuck Cal for putting the team, the franchise, and DW4 in this position and fuck Easterby for being such a charlatan.
  14. He's under contract. He plays for the Texans or he doesn't get paid. Under the new CBA, if he misses team activities he is fined $50,000/day and the fine can no longer be waived (as was permitted under prior CBAs). If he holdouts, the Texans can seek a return of some/all of any signing bonus associated with the current contract. The only place DW4 has leverage is in the court of public opinion. His agent is the only one employing the outdated holdout strategy and this is the first time he's tried it with a franchise QB. That said, fuck Cal and fuck Easterby.
  15. Not really. This is cut and paste from LZ: "Watt will be 32 in March, has played in just 48 of his team's last 80 games, had 5.5 sacks over 16 games this year & his contract called for him to make $17.5M in 2021. Covid likely to cut total salary cap as well. Why would teams want to trade instead of wait for the cut?" If you trade for him, you owe him $17.5M; if he doesn't want to go to your team, he retires; his destination teams know they can get him for cheaper than $17.5M and w/o losing picks. In isolation, this is a typical football cap saving event that happens with many aging superstars - it just looks really bad to the average fan because of the dumpster fire on Kirby. 55, 59, and 15 likely next.
  16. You are correct. His twitter mentions only "committed", and the Rice FB page doesn't list him as signed. I saw a tweet from Rice at one point congratulating Taafe and the DE from Katy who was DMVP of the 6a-D2 game (and who is signed per the Rice FB page) and referring to them as future Owls., so that must have confused me. Taafe has picked up PWO offers from SMU and Baylor since the game last week. Hard to turn down a free Rice education, but he is likely waiting to see if a better scholarship opportunity comes up.
  17. He signed with Rice on NSD1 Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  18. Although I have little doubt that the Texans would have let Indy march down for a game winning FG
