  1. Across the board cuts suck donkey balls. Public administrators and lawmakers need to go through the difficult process of deciding which capabilities and services can be cut.
  2. Have you thought about the 2nd and 3rd order effects of something like this? Not sure there are enough auctioneers and buyers to liquidate these assets. Talk about flooding the market and seriously depressing asset prices lol. Do you think these estate values are held in money market accounts or something? Also, Im not sure Costa Rica and Belize could deal with the increase in millionaires trying to immigrate from the US. On the other hand your plan might make farmland affordable again. Especially when it has to be sold.
  3. Marriage is one way to get sponsored for a green card. But you have to apply, get a background check & medical exam, pay about $1,000 and do an interview. We have a process.
  4. There wont be any tanks or brads.....just rolling stock from what I understand. The logistics and potential for damage makes the track vehicles a no-go. Plus they'd leak fluid all over the place.

    Tax reform

Also from your Link: Maybe the tax cuts have yet to help or hurt revenue. It will take time to tell.
  6. To be fair it looks like the actual deficit will fall short of projections for FY18. Not great of course but better than expected so far. Also, so far the tax cuts have not had a negative impact on revenue. https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/fsreports/rpt/mthTreasStmt/mts0418.pdf The first 4 months of CY18 totaled $1.236 trillion ($361B, 155, 210, & 510) compared to $1.186 ($344B, 171, 216, & 455) for the the same period in CY17. Thats a 4.28% increase. I used the CY for comparison as the tax cuts started in Jan rather than Oct. The projected deficit for FY18 was $832B. 7 months thru FY18 and we stand at $385B which would trend to about $660B for FY18. Not great but better than projected.
  7. Meh….people being fed up with a certain party in power is no big deal. If I randomly (lol) pick the 104th congress as a starting point it appears that the voters get Lefty fatigue much faster than Righty fatigue. Pub Control of both houses: 7 times / 14 years (104th, 105th, 106th, 108th, 109th, 114th, & 115th) Dem Control of both houses: 2 times / 4 years (110th & 111th) Split: 3 times / 6 years (107th, 112th, & 113th) Pub Control & POTUS: 3 times / 6 years Deb Control & POTUS: 1 time / 2 years The dems look like a great alternative until that freak show actually gets in charge.
  8. “Starve the Beast” might actually work out for the pubs. Assuming: 1) our debt problem will not be addressed until forced upon us and 2) a 1 for 1 exchange of tax increases and spending cuts will likely be required to pass anything significant….along with some currency debasement to inflate the problem away. It’s better to have your anchor set far to the right before this happens. That's a theory anyway.
  9. How much longer can RBG last? Im beginning to think she is the undead.
  10. Hopefully rec use will get approved in the near future. I'm sure it will take a few years to prove that the devil is not behind MJ use.
  11. Meh....that's kind of sloppy way to view the situation with Kushner's security investigation. The definition in the form confuses a lot of folks. The interviewer sometimes will try to explain this so corrections can be made. This is not unusual in any way.
  12. For some reason this reminds me of when William F. Buckley passed. I knew then the right had lost something they couldn't replace. Unfortunately the same will probably be true of Krauthammer. Hang in there Thomas Sowell.
  13. Can the groups/families be detained together under current law/regs? Is catch & release the only way to not separate them?
  14. I could be wrong...it happens...but I thought those allegations were based on finding out that he made "anti-trump" comments in text messages. Not that he told another colleague that they would "stop" Trump from becoming president. Im sure they will look at it again.
  15. Strzok falls under the "further restricted employees" category under the Hatch Act. Not sure someone would try to stretch those text messages to somehow mean that he used his "official authority or influence to interfere with or affect the result of an election" Im sure someone will look into it though.
  16. When convincing a group of people to see an issue from my perspective....I always find some ceremonial/traditional event of theirs and piss all over it. Always works for me lol. Many of the remaining people we need to convert to support criminal justice reform are the one's that get offended by this type of stuff. Great cause but really shitty tactic.
  17. Don Beyers tweet apears to suggest that since the FBI did not adjudicate the clearance that it couldn't have been done by "career" personnel. That is simply not true.
  18. At least I've been through the process multiple times....that doesn't mean I know everything about the process. It's based on a "whole person" concept to determine trustworthiness and is very subjective. However, there are plenty of interviewers, reviewers, investigators, etc that have rating chains set up to be free from the influence of high ranking merit employees and especially appointees. Move on to another conspiracy.
  19. The "White House" is not DJT. It is an organization that has plenty of career/merit employees that operate outside of POTUS's influence. lol
  20. This is kind of confusing. The White House organization has merit employees. Not all 400 or so employees are appointees. Security issues would fall under the Office of Administration.....i think.
