  1. I tell the “kids” I hire to do this and they’ll retire before they’re 45. I also tell them to eat out less and put that extra money to trying to max out their 401k. I warn them to do the house thing before they have kids because I don’t think it’s possible to do it consistently after that. Assuming our kids move out in roughly 8 years, if I have the energy, I may try to convince the wife to start doing that. I’ll be 52. Well see.
  2. This and a 12 v battery to go with your solar panel. https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Wanderer-Amp-12V-24V/dp/B07NPDWZJ7/ref=asc_df_B07NPDWZJ7?mcid=e4c515f6f693328bad1ed488b75fb972&hvocijid=1021299970672362581-B07NPDWZJ7-&hvexpln=73&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=721245378154&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1021299970672362581&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027739&hvtargid=pla-2281435178338&psc=1 Went in to tractor supply for a salt block and they got the wife on an impulse buy. Mother’s Day gift. To be fair, we didn’t end up with a goat
  3. Nice. The Renogy solar charger is pretty cheap and easy to use. You could probably get a battery and charger for under $75. Apollo's sister Artemis (on the right) is finally becoming a little more social.
  4. Welcome to the rebellion I’m trying to think what to compare that too. A tv version of the opening of Saving private Ryan?
  5. I’ve been at the same place for a little over 17 years. We moved in December, my drive became 66 miles that was always 1:20 minimum but plenty of 2 hours each way days. I really thought I could tough it out but it wore me down. Tomorrow is my last day. I’m leaving at noon. I’ve been there longer than I’ve been anywhere in my life. I start my new job Monday. Just a weird mix of emotions from excited to regret to terrified. Not sure I’ll sleep tonight.
  6. Any chance this is a plot to get them to admit on the record to pursuing those aggressive anti consumer tactics using reverse psychology? &nbsp
  7. Have to get about 900 more lbs of sand to finish the ground. Going to install some solar lights and fans. The small cage will be to get the new chick acclimated to the flock.
  8. @Spaulding Smails These are our first 2 turkeys. We got them as the third “batch” along with 2 Easter something’s and 3 silkies. Even though they were all 3 weeks old, I assume because they were so large, the chickens chic thought they were their moms. They tried to snuggle under neath them, did the thing where they try to hop on their backs, and generally screamed their heads off if the “turkey mommies” were more than 3 feet away. That set were kept together for the last few weeks in their own coop. As of last night, we finally have almost all the chickens in one coop. We’re just waiting for the last Cochin (2 weeks) to get a little bigger. Our 2 turkeys don’t seem to wander any more than the chickens. They do seem to try to get higher up at an earlier age though. They also have been protecting the chicks they were raised with from the old chickens as well as they can @High Plains Drifter our silkie went broodie at the same time we put our ayams in the incubator. We ended up giving her 3 of the 12 just to see how she’d do. When they hatched we slowly gave her all the chics. Granted 10 may be on the edge of being too many for 1 silkie, but it has been great. We didn’t have to use a heat lamp and she’s helped introduce them to the yard earlier than we might have otherwise. She’s also the queen bitch now. Also her chicks are more tame faster than the motherless chicks because she taught them first thing to come to us when we say chick chick chick.
  9. i think most people thought the same and wondered how Ahsoka, Ezra, and Kanan were going to die.
  10. We’ve got 2 turkeys, 3 Cochins, 4 silkies ( hopefully 1 is a male, 5 that will lay green and blue eggs, and 10 Ayam Cemanis. Only 3 are egg laying age, should have 3 more laying early June and the rest in August. Apollo is the male turkey and he is very tame.
  11. Just got back. Was very good, and a little different as someone pointed out up thread.
  12. The font on the website seems to have gotten somewhat smaller. I adjusted the zoom up all the way to 200 and it had no effect. All other webpages load ridiculously large now at 200%. Not sure if I changed some setting on surly or if you did. On an iPhone, yes I’m over 40, yes I need glasses, but something still changed.
  13. Shingle Dutch gable. Don’t have a picture currently but will work on one.
  14. @UTPhil2006 @ROFL BOX anyone have any recs for Seabrook area?
  15. Any noticed health improvements?
  16. Yep. Holy shit.
  17. Speaking of, I feel like we should get a Saw cameo or maybe even plot line? No?
  18. Salt and paper snd that shits delicious. Didn’t realize I missed this until now
  19. That was fucking awesome. Enjoyed the punisher / DD interactions. I like Marvels dad.
  20. I bet you’d give the same advice to Germans in the late 30s.
  21. Went Sunday. We were there in time for the 330 but it was practically sold out so we waited for the 4. Had a great time. Also, my kids never watched Lilo and stitch, but we all want to see it after the preview.
