  1. Please no to this. That’s what they did to Texas World Speedway (which was awesome) and what I hear they are doing to MSR Houston (which is also awesome).
  2. Agreed. This is the first time I have done it and won’t do it again.
  3. MOV_7847.mov They are kinda good. And that "aeeeeyah" you hear is aforementioned 2 year old.
  4. From that map, it looks like the Biergarten is at T1 which is close to the main grandstand. T-12 from the main grandstand is a bit of a hike. But, they do have shuttles between the two. About to head out now to do the grid walk with my 2 year old...bless me.
  5. As long as the tickets get issued the same way and seated tickets, you should be able to open the COTA App and transfer just that day to whoever you want.
  6. I better check that out. I was going with the assumption that since he is 23 months, he doesn't need a ticket. If he does, it will be me with a friend in tow.
  7. Finally ran across reasonable tickets for T15 last night so looks like I get to make it after all with little man in tow. What could possibly go wrong with taking a 2 year old to a F1 race, lol.

Welp, there goes $200 so it can sit beside the Lego RSR and GTS RS.
  9. Probably could have spelled that out better. I meant I imagine if the GT cars aren’t going that far above sticker, an allocation for a C2, C2S, etc shouldn’t be difficult. If you are in Austin, hit me up and will connect you with my person.
  10. Not sure what flavor 992 you are looking for but just checked out autotrader and there are a couple GT3’s that don’t seem to be going that far above sticker (besides one dealer on crack).
  11. Great info. I’ll check them out. Thanks.
  12. It has been conceived. Should be fully grown in 5 more days. Pretty cool to watch the progress and hope you can actually track the ship close to live.
  13. Those and T1 are a little annoying for sure. I even scrape the front bumper in the esses. Still manageable but annoying.
  14. I do. This one is “nice”. The one on the way (that I check the status on every day) is a couple of notches above “nice” …only saying that because we are in this thread.
  15. You would think that but I just got pulled over on the way home from COTA a couple weekends ago with numbers on the side of my car still and the cop immediately said he was giving me a warning and thanked me for pulling over in a safe spot. Then again, I am white in one of the whitest areas ever and was driving a “nice” car (no racist). I posted about the other time I got pulled over in a track car on the speeding ticket thread and same thing. I think they think, ok 70 in a 55 is no big deal for this guy. /CSB
  16. That's ridiculous. Every year I have done upper T15 for like 650 with COTA calling me asking to buy instead of me calling them. This year when I did think about buying tickets they were already sold out. I imagine that's more "drive to survive" more than Covid but who knows. This world is nuts.
  17. This. Why would you negotiate against yourself when you are not the one requesting the sale. Show them the two appraisals (that they should have paid for), tell them to make an offer, if you like it, take it. If you don't, don't. You are in the driver's seat here and with a law degree from UT, you should be able to handle that diplomatically to where if the deal goes through or not, everyone should still remain family.
  18. Well, my Dad (who is bigger than yours) says it was Verstappen’s fault. So, there.
  19. Also, let’s be honest here. This penalty probably has more to do with the outcome than anything else. Had he re-entered and they just bumped and continued on, it’s very possible nothing would have happened (although I still believe this fell on Verstappen). But, he landed on top of Hamilton’s head. I get your inconsistency argument but sometimes it’s subjective and it is what it is and they send messages. Especially with this increasingly heated rivalry.
  20. Go read the stewards review posted previously. That was Mercedes argument in this instance. Had the situation been reversed, they would have argued the same as Red Bull. It’s not rocket surgery.
  21. I’m saying exactly that. If the situation were reversed he would be arguing Max should have left him room. Fairly certain any driver would do the same.
  22. Totally agreed. IMO, Verstappen and Hamilton have two different driving styles. All things equal, both work and are fast but Max's usually wins and crashes more often. If you ain't first, you're last. That said, I do think Max is the quicker driver. The rain races kinda prove that for me.
  23. lol, of course he said that since it benefitted him that day. If you ask him the same question about Sunday, he would most likely change his tune and say Verstappen wasn't level with him (I never said he wasn't a whiny self-serving baby) so it was his line and he should have backed off (actually that is pretty much what they argued to the stewards). Good thing drivers aren't stewards. I would imagine the regs address all these scenarios but think the link above is a good summary of them.
  24. I didn't see him dart across until after the blend line. Had he crossed that blend line, he certainly would have received a penalty.
  25. Just for discussion, I feel this is true but it depends on what "alongside" means. Does it mean a nose, halfway, wheel-to-wheel? It depends on the circumstances. Here is a good write up (I didn't bother to read that actual regs): https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/the-rules-of-racing/ Most relevant part here is: "The guiding principle is that the driver on the outside should be at least level (front axle in line with front axle) with the driver on the inside to have a claim to the racing line on corner exit. Depending on the type of corner and the cars involved, either the outside or inside line may be quicker through the corner, meaning the driver on the outside may gain or lose ground from corner entry to corner exit. It is relative positions of the cars at exit — not at entry or apex — that is therefore crucial in judging these cases. If the driver on the inside is behind at corner exit, they must leave space for the driver on the outside. If the driver on the inside is ahead at corner exit, it is the duty of the driver on the outside to back out or take evasive action to avoid a collision." At no point was Verstappen level with Hamilton in that corner. So, the late brake was cool and all. But, when it failed, he should have bailed left.
