  1. I like them but not sure for someone my level, they are worth the price...especially the wedges. I am sure some people can tell the difference in the wedges but not me. I am a little weird about golf though. This game is something I have put a ton of money and time into and still about an 18 on my course.
  2. That’s kinda what I meant by I think he got a good deal at 10k over. I wouldn’t think the GTS would pull that kinda premium. I just got rid of the Panamera GTS from a lot of pages ago on here and it dropped about 40k in 2 years. But, that’s a Panamera and not a 911. ps, for those of you that said a Panamera was a terrible dad car (i think goofy and g650)...I’m not saying you were right. But, certainly not saying you were wrong either. Cool car but about as practical as a 911.
  3. Pricing is nuts now.. A buddy of mine just paid 10k over the original sticker for a 2018 GT3 with 6k miles and certified and think he got a pretty decent deal. He is in Austin and car came from a South Carolina if that makes any difference.
  4. I went from Titliest AP3's to fitted PXG's 311's last year expecting a significant improvement and, while they are more forgiving, it was a nominal increase in my game at best.
  5. All that said, the blue car posted earlier that gets her in November is a manual and I will be at least 2 seconds around COTA slower because of it.
  6. For daily driving where you go from aggressive to relaxed depending on the circumstances, I can see G650's point. But, for track purposes, which is where the PDK shines. Your goal/intentions, almost always, are to have it in the right RPM/Gear for that speed. That's where the PDK shines. On a track, I never touch the paddles unless I want to short shift and it is always in the proper gear. But, unless maybe it's raining, you are always going to want to be in the power band. It also does drop from 5th to 2nd many times seamlessly as well.
  7. I can only help on the GT3's for the 991. For that, the 4.0 certainly makes a big difference in the 991.2. As far as PDK, it is relatively bulletproof, never seems to be in the wrong gear and much quicker in a straight line and around a track than the manual. But, the manuals seem to hold their value better and they are fun. Depending on which version you are looking at, front axle lift is pretty nice. I don't think you get launch control (which I have never used) unless you get the chrono package. Other than that, options don't mean that much to me so I would just stay away from the base model 991.1. Wife has that one and while it's still a Porsche, it doesn't drive or feel like one.
  8. This is where I was coming from. This answered it. While a lawyer, I do corporate insurance shit and know jack shit about criminal law.
  9. Just to be clear, I am very happy with the outcome. IMO, he got what he deserved. But, from a legal defense standpoint, for the criminal law folks out there, why didn’t he take the chance to take the stand and at least try to defend himself? He had to know this wasn’t going to work out in his favor. He could have gotten up and said something like “I have been working these streets for a long time, they are very dangerous, if you let up for a second you get killed, I was nervous, did not want this to happen, very sorry it did, blah, blah blah”.
  10. Where can we bet on whether he's still alive for sentencing?
  11. Couple questions for you experts. First, if I moved in this house in August of 2020 and just filed my homestead exemption this week, will they retroactively apply the cap? Second, just using round numbers to make life easy, if I bought it for 1M, the appraisal came in this year at 750k when it was appraised at 400k last year but I could sell it for 1.4 in less than a week, I should probably skip all forms of protest, correct?
  12. When the 992 gets here the 991 with PDK is likely going away and I am really going to miss that transmission. It’s up shifts and downshifts are glorious.
  13. Lots of reasons. Brake fluid sucks, cleanliness, clogs between uses, changing of different brake fluid between cars and cleanliness (I know I said that twice). It's much easier to just unscrew it and fill the reservoir a few times while doing the flush than deal with the above.
  14. Yes, they make the job much easier. Protip, don't put the fluid in there, just use it for pressure and disconnect and fill the reservoir directly when it gets low.
  15. Just speaking my opinion and experience, the 991's are far superior to the 997's. I had a 997TTS and 997 GT3. The GT3 was great but the TTS never felt like it was connected to the ground. Granted, it was fast in a straight line. But, always felt loose. Given the choice, I would take the 991 C2S or GTS any day over the 997TT.
  16. Lol, my wife actually wanted me to get her this car....Hard Pass!
  17. Not really a lambo fan and never thought I would like them but they were very impressive to drive on a track. Still wouldn't buy one though.
  18. You know what, that's the car that got t-boned by someone running a red light and for some reason insurance didn't total it. When I got it back, the turbo's didn't work and then they had to put new turbos on it. The flash and exhaust was after that. Certainly understand that motor was supposed to be bullet proof so could be residual from the wreck. The car was never "right" again after that so traded it in (same dealer as above and knew about the wreck). /csb
  19. Do you track yours? That’s what they blamed it on. It was a long time ago but i had an exhaust put on it and flashed it myself. Within 3k miles (a decent amount track) had to take it in. it was was the dealer in Houston that replaced them. Main part I recall (this was back in 2010 ish) is the car wouldn’t start, they either had to drop the engine or remove the inter coolers to get to the plugs and the bill was 5k. To be fair, I easily could have had them do something else while they were there though but don’t recall. After that car, haven’t modified one since other than exhaust.
  20. If you ever bring one down to COTA, let me know and I will meet you.
  21. Hah, it’s really what you want is a pretty open question. For a daily, I would go 911 turbo (or something in that line not including GT cars other than the GTS) panamera GTS or Cayenne GTS. I like the GTS’s over the the turbos because you feel the road better and not as much sway. From my understanding, it’s the same motor but with the turbo not turned up as much and has a different transmission. As far as modifying, Porsche engineers are kinda good so, other than maybe an exhaust, I would stay away from that. They are also expensive to fix and work on outside of warranty. I did flash and put an exhaust on a 996 turbo. Worst idea ever. Burned through spark plugs in 3k miles which was a 5k fix.
  22. Atta boy! The man has arrived.
  23. Congrats! That’s awesome. The Porsche options certainly add up quickly. I bounced back and forth between black, gentian and shark blue for awhile and finally came up with, it’s a GT3, it needs a color so black was out and the gentian looked more elegant and didn’t belong on a GT3 (also I could get the wheel stripe, interior stitching and seatbelts in shark). IMO only, the C2S can carry whatever color it wants (except maybe yellow because in my messed up head that is reserved for very high end cars not including the GT3). For options, the front axle lift, at least on a GT3, is pretty mandatory and will probably be nice on a C2S. Are you at Porsche Austin? If so, was told mine arrives in November so we would probably be on the same boat.
