  1. While I'm relatively new here, I have a feeling this has been debated before. At least for me, Texas doesn't seem nearly as passionate about it's sweet tea as the Southeast.
  2. He's still alive (and probably reading this). Texted him today and he is right. Sweet tea is not a Texas thing. Brisket, yes. Sweat tea, no. That belongs to Alabama, SC, Georgia, etc.
  3. True. At least from the documentary. I was more making a tongue in cheek joke about the women being his downfall.
  4. Due to my suckyness/boredom/toughness of the course I play, I have a lesson once a week. A few weeks ago a dude led an entire conference call while intermittently hitting a shot. Then, last week, another dude just sat there and chatted on his ear buds while chilling on the range. I think everyone should adopt AGC's rules.
  5. It's not how fast. It's that they never stop, run like a drunk old man and use their forehead to feel out everything.
  6. That also brings up, people who talk on speaker phones in the airport and talk on the phone on the driving range. I think I am just surly this morning from being cooped up all weekend chasing a 14 month old.
  7. My original response: "So, if we say "y'all better axe somebody" for long enough, it's ok? Axe is also a huge pet peeve. No racist.". Then, I realized how hypocritical that statement was. Either way, saying/typing/reading Nor'easter still annoys me.
  8. 1) it arbitrarily shortens two words to sound cool but actually sounds stupid 2) it's actually harder to say/type than the real words 3) I get agitated easily at stooped things.
  9. The word "'nor'easter". It's just dumb.
  10. Missing the pulley bone too. That seems to be my families favorite part. I don't know why since it's really just the front part of the breast. But, to each their own.
  11. Is Jaspers still open and good? That place used to be awesome back in the day.
  12. Got back into it 2020 as well. Joined a club, bought some new sticks and taking a lesson once a week to improve. Broke 90 a couple times but can still easily throw out a 100 if the driver isn't cooperating that day (not the most forgiving course that generally requires a well placed tee shot). Probably playing/hitting balls 3-5 times a week so hopefully will start to get it under a little more control.
  13. I tried the first time I made a roux and burned it. Now that I have a better idea how to make a roux (didn't realize how serious they were about that whole constantly stir thing), I am sure it would be great.
  14. It sucks. Too much cushion.
  15. Not meant as a humble brag but probably is CSB time. I got a little too in the brown water during the first/middle part of Covid (changed that habit now, thank God). Have been interested in ordering the new GT3 since it was mentioned. Dealer hits me up about a month ago and let me know when it is time to place the order. Mentioned to the wife (no pics) that I was going to pull the trigger on it and put down the deposit. Her response; "Babe, you paid the deposit in June". Checked my email/texts...sure enough, managed to complete an entire form with the deposit back in June...No recollection. Good part is my drunk mind made the same decision as my sober mind, lol.
  16. An electric Cobra just sounds oxymoronic. But, then again so does an electric Hummer. So does cars going 0-60 in under 2.5 seconds. I am sure I will come around eventually and accept that as the new reality. But, it's going to take a bit.
  17. Can't wait for the release of this bad boy. Probably going to be the last of the naturally aspirated GT3's so should hold it's value like a champ. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a34779787/2021-porsche-911-gt3-prototype-revealed/
  18. At least in my opinion, this is a no brainer. The 991 platform is head and shoulders above the 997. I haven’t looked it up but imagine the C4S is quicker too.
  19. Went fishing yesterday morning. So, tacos for dinner last night.
  20. This is a kick ass tortilla soup recipe and is very easy. End result looks very similar to Etexhorn above. https://www.averiecooks.com/easy-30-minute-homemade-chicken-tortilla-soup/
  21. I use a version of this recipe for Gumbo and always turns out great". https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/216888/good-new-orleans-creole-gumbo/ Usually have shrimp, crab and sausage in there.
  22. From the rose colored glasses point of view, haven't really followed when the GTS with the 8 cylinder comes out or if it is already out but I would make sure you try that one too. We had a 14 GTS and got rid of it for the current model Turbo and I think I liked the GTS better. The Turbo is definitely faster. But, the GTS sounded better and drove much tighter. The Turbo is a little wavy and feels more like a grocery getter than a Porsche.
  23. For the last two trucks I used the metal retrax one and loved them. A little pricey but rolled easily, looked good, was durable and didn’t let water through.
