Lots of great pics in the last couple of pages. We went mid-July. Mostly touristy shit in the city but did one day to Rattlesnake Ledge. Thanks once again to Surly for helping plan our trip!
Market and Great Wheel. Also not pictured the big fancy Starbucks for the wife.
Rattlesnake Ledge and Snoqualmie Falls
Space needle, Chihuly, Mariners/Astros..
Ferry to Bainbridge and Japanese Gardens
Didn't take too many food pics. Wife and I left the kids behind and did a date night at Shaker and Spear which was excellent. My teenage girls just had to eat at Biscuit Bitch once they heard there was a place called Biscuit Bitch. Serious Pie was damn good, but the are really fucking serious about their pizza prices. Never had a $200 bill for a pizza lunch for 6 before.
Smothered pork chops with rice.
First sear both sides.
Then saute some onions and garlic and make a quick gravy roux
Add some chicken broth and milk and braise chops while gravy thickens.
And fin..
I'm not sure what to make of that either. It seems that you can just pay $2500 to have seats in the middle of the students and if nobody takes that deal, those will be the visitor seats?
As a kid I always liked the bbq chicken my dad and uncles would make. Homemade pit had no fire box so the fire was built off to the side and would shovel the coals as needed directly under the meat. I guess the technique part is the mop sauce. Saute onions and maybe bell peppers in some butter, then add more butter, a little vinegar and Worcestershire, and some salt and pepper I think. The mop was in the freezer from last time.
The pit had a busted thermometer on the lid with no cover over the needle. They would tell all the kids that it was to control the heat. Fire's getting hot, better turn it down a bit, followed by pushing the needle to a lower temp. Once you were old enough to realize they were full of shit, you got to help convince the younger cousins.
Neg away for no money shot. In all honesty, it was falling off the bone when I went to slice it. Maybe I went a little too long but it was pure meat candy either way.
