  1. Turned out to be a good card. I’m a fan of Jiri, happy he got that win. Pereira is just not a good matchup for him. Gotta find someone else. Merab’s gas tank is unreal. Umar looked good until he gassed. Really good fight. Islam is just a machine. His fight streak company is impressive - Jones, Anderson, Mighty Mouse. That’s good company.
  2. Just because it’s not a secret doesn’t mean it’s not soft
  3. Bummer about Arman. Got my hopes up for 2 seconds that Do Bronx would get the call, but Moicano gets the shot.
  4. Same. D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is such a great villain. Can’t believe they wasted him in echo.
  5. No. PK is such a good dude that he was willing to make it work for the good of the team. But Lake screwed that up (which he did early and often). When Petersen stepped down and UW promoted Lake, I was cautiously optimistic because PK stuck around. But Lake was such a douche that he couldn’t find anyone from the outside to coach the offense and then PK noped out. I enjoy reading the evolution in the “what would you say you do here” thread where people finally come around to “oh, we do have a top 5 DC”.
  6. Holy cow, this. Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?
  7. Finally got around to watching this. I loved the original NBC shorts and stayed away because I didn’t think that could translate to a series (let alone three seasons). I was so wrong. This series was fantastic. ”I’m trying to build bridges here!” ”You couldn’t build Jeff Bridges.”
  8. Batman Begins is the best movie in Nolan’s Batman trilogy Reservoir Dogs is Tarantino’s best film.
  9. Like a lot of others, Porky’s. Other one I haven’t seen mentioned was Fast Times. I was probably 7 or 8 when I saw that for the first time. Pretty much any horror movie on premium cable. Whoever called out Dark Night of the Scarecrow, wow I had forgotten that one. I don’t remember much about it, but remember not being able to sleep after watching at a friend's house.
  10. The BIG has done a hell of a job of protecting their legacy members. These jackhole refs actually came back and reviewed one in Michigan's favor last week against Washington after the next play had been run. The penalty disparity for the west coast teams is noticeable as well
  11. I heard someone say they should have had the Stranger end up to be Saruman. That would have been great as we see him doing good things and fighting evil, and then we see his corruption later. I get why they made him “Grand Elf” but would have been way better if it was Saruman.
  12. As my kids are now older, I’ve seen fewer of the newer ones so for me, it’s Ratatouille (an amazing movie, not just for an animated one), Incredibles and Wall E. Opening montage in Up is amazing, but the rest of the movie is just ok for me. Toy Stories are fine.
  13. I’m in SoCal (OC) so I’m not sure I’m going to be able to help with specifics on MDs. I will say, we interviewed 4 or 5 and had a lot of questions regarding how many procedures they’ve done, would it be them personally or a fellow, rates of recovery, nerve-sparing process, etc. I knew I didn’t want radiation therapy unless it absolutely looked necessary. From what I understand (by all means, do your research), RT is hard on you and mutates the tissue in the area such that if you do have to go in for a subsequent surgery, then there’s little chance of salvaging anything (particularly nerves) so “function” is highly unlikely and incontinence is highly likely. My thought was the chance for best outcome was surgery first and then RT if necessary. If it can be a help to you or anyone else, I’m happy to share anything here about procedure itself, recovery, lingering effects (“function”, incontinence), things I didn’t expect, etc. So feel free to fire away as questions or concerns arise.
  14. With today’s performance, there are a lot of UDub fans that’ll escort Jedd out of town.
  15. Praying for you JR. I also went radical prostatectomy via da Vinci at 48. Gleason score of 7. My Decipher genomic test came back that I had a more aggressive type so glad we were on it early. 9 months post surgery and I’m pretty well back to normal. Happy to share any of my experience if helpful. Feel free to ask away here or shoot me a DM.
  16. I know the usual suspects on YouTube are crushing this, but I’m enjoying this season. They need to tighten the storylines though. For example, unless Theo ends up being the Witch King, just clip his storyline. Also I’m not sure I need the political intrigue in Numenor either (but I haven’t read anything beyond the Hobbit and LOTR so perhaps it’s super important). Still hoping the Stranger isn’t Gandalf, and this Dark Wizard isn’t somehow Saruman. The one thing that stands out that really bugs me is Galadriel’s overly breathy voice with the rolling of her R’s.
  17. Yeah I hate to bash a Gaucho, but Evans no business being an Olympian. Not new news, but USA Volleyball (or whomever) needs to figure out the qualification process.
  18. Praying for you Gourmand. I was in this spot about a year ago with an elevated PSA (at 48 yo). Did another 30 days later to confirm, then biopsy (not gonna lie, it sucks). From there it was figuring out treatment options and interviewing MDs. I am now ~7 months post prostatectomy. Happy to share my experiences if helpful.
  19. Caught the last 2/3’s if Rushmore early this morning. Love that movie. This may send me on a Wes Anderson binge. “I’ll take punctuality.”
  20. I was in a bikey gang. It was me and my brother Graham and my dad, Gordon. Dad was the leader, Graham found nice places for us to ride to and I was the guy who looked after the bags.
  21. I think you’re referencing Panorama and, if so, wholeheartedly agree. We had a great lunch there and the views are fantastic. Random food item. Ducked into a place in Milano called Mamajuanas because it was late and close to where we were. Dominican/South American place. Some of the best fried chicken I’ve had. I was certainly not expecting that.
  22. Wrapping up two weeks in Italy (fly out in the morning). It has been a busy couple of weeks. Started in Rome (Trastevere). Saw all the “major” stuff - Vatican City, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. it was busy obviously but thankfully not too hot yet. Next was Sorrento - probably the favorite of the youngers in our group. Charter boat to Capri (couldn’t do Blue Grotto as wave action made it so slow that we would have been waiting for hours). But we got to swim in a few spots and had a good lunch at Panorama on Capri. Also charter boat around to Amalfi and Positano. This was an (expensive) add on, but a lot of fun. Did Pompeii and Herculaneum from here. I liked this more than I thought I would. Again, thankfully not too hot. I can’t imagine doing that with July/August sun beating down on you. We did a quick spin through Naples so probably not representative, but based on our quick run-through, I liked it the least of the big cities. Next was Florence and we stayed right down town in the tourist area, but I thought it was great because it made everything easily walkable. Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, etc. One day train to Lucca and we grabbed bikes and rode to Pisa. This was a ton of fun. Nice bike path along the Arno for the most part. We returned on a more direct path. Cars were conscientious of the bikes. Day trip to Cinque Terre. This made for a long day but the area is beautiful. Would consider a night or two here to hike the trail between. Wrapping up in Milan. Definitely a different vibe here but I like it more than I thought I would. Staying near park where Castello is and that is great. Day trips to Lake Como (weather not great which put a damper on it) and Venice (squeezed it in). I was expecting worse from Venice, but we really buzzed through the St Marks area and then just meandered the streets away from there and we really enjoyed it. Amazing country to visit, and I feel like there’s so much more to see and do.
  23. Yeah, unfortunately it’s hard to sugar-coat this one. When I walked into the room, the speculum that I recognized for ultrasounds during my wife’s pregnancies was there and I thought “nah, they have to have something else.” (Narrator: they don’t). They take twelve cores and evaluate each. Taking the cores is minor as by now they’ve hit you with the anesthetic. I’d liken it to being lightly snapped with a rubber band. It’s not fun, but get it done. As said in a few posts above, this is one you can get at early. Don’t put it off. And the Decipher test may not be offered by your urologist, but they’ll order if you ask. This will tell you how aggressive your lesion is and can help guide treatment. If it helps, I did NOT want radiation therapy unless absolutely necessary. Thankfully, my lesion was well contained in the prostate so surgery was easy choice. We “shopped” for a surgeon we felt good about and came highly recommended, with vast experience with the Da Vinci nerve-sparing procedure. Remember you can always add a dose of RT later if needed, but RT mutates things such that it makes subsequent nerve-sparing surgery extremely difficult if not impossible. I’m not an MD so take my opinion with the appropriate grain of salt, but thought I’d share a brief view of my thought process.
  24. Awesome to hear! My first bloodwork check at three months came back undetectable as well. How are you doing on the recovery side? Particularly “control”? I’m pretty good for the most part but definitely prone to leakage when active. First time post surgery doing jumping jacks was hilarious. And then there are times I’ll just randomly leak. Those are frustrating to say the least.
  25. Was given the nickname Looney Tunes as was an OG in a gang that included Gerardo, AC Sanchez and Malachi.
