  1. An article from 2014 is not support for the assertion that BoTh SiDeS aRe ThE sAmE when it comes to children in cages, family separations, or immigration. It is weak sauce to assert that. This is the problem with political dialogue. People pick up fallacious ideas from twitter or wherever about both sides and then get fed weaksauce evidence to assert. Then they regurgitate
  2. In order to “put kids in cages” they are first separated from their families. Don’t converse in bad faith.
  3. This isn’t correct. Biden is and always has been a mainstream democrat. As the party has moved left, so has Biden.
  4. This is a trump talking point. Equating the temporary family separation needed to confirm identities under Obama to the “zero tolerance” near-permanent family separations in the name deterrence under Sessions/trump is gross. Obama let family units stay together during the immigration/deportation process. Trump separated all families across the board. +4000 kids were separated under trump and no one knows exactly how many. Why are people using trump talking points to attack Biden? Where are people hearing this stuff? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_administration_family_separation_policy https://www.factcheck.org/2018/06/did-the-obama-administration-separate-families/
  5. I also kind of doubt. But it would be the mature thing to do and clearly in the interest of continued US democracy (aka removing the authoritarian from office). People on the left need to start demanding it. I’m sure there will always be a faction of the Bernie bros (like bad teammate and other twitter tools) that don’t have the maturity or awareness, but that doesn’t mean all other progressives shouldn’t demand Bernie do the right thing - and soon.
  6. That was spot on. If you are anywhere left of trump and you don’t vote for Biden, you have been duped!! That guy needs to start opening up for Bernie’s speeches.
  7. Trump and his team are scared shitless. Trump is an impeached president because he tried to kneecap Biden. The right and trump have been defending Bernie. Joe Biden is a terrible candidate for Trump and those around trump know it. Biden + recession + pandemic mismanagement + 2019 Ukraine + 2016 Russian collusion + whatever other bombs drop (Saudi transcripts, Deutsche bank, tax returns, irs whistleblower) could all lead to flipping the Senate. That is terribly important. Removing roadblock Mitch has to happen before any meaningful legislation will pass.
  8. Sanders, his supporters, and the Bernie bros need to start cleaning their house. They have allowed this victimhood messaging to resonate. Sanders needs to take a bulk of the responsibility since he chose to run an anti-Democratic party campaign and surround himself with anti-establishment people. Sanders has a big job to do. He needs to get to it
  9. Having a "no compromise" platform is what destroyed the GOP. I am glad the democratic party is soundly dismissing that platform. It is in the best interest of the US.
  10. Mary Louise Kelly interview of Fiona Hill from today https://www.npr.org/2020/03/10/814164958/fiona-hill-on-vladimir-putins-move-to-stay-in-power-in-russia
  11. It’ll likely be a female and it won’t be Warren since the governor in Mass is a rep.
  12. You know that black voters know more about white voters than white voters. How do you know this?
  13. Is this what losing looks like?
  14. Twitter trumpkins have trouble keeping up with their slew of twitter posts. Read a newspaper. Go talk to the guy at the corner store.
  15. Why is a Bernie bro posting WhAtAbOuT Obama twitter posts during the Trump Crash of 2020?
  16. Thanks man. How about you close the twitter account and quit squawking trumpkin talking points?
  17. Sounds like you were offended by it when Hillary said it. Weird. Or maybe you picked it from listening to trump at a rally?
  18. Why are there so many fake lefties here touting trumpkin talking points? This shit is straight out of Fox News and breitbart. Close your twitter account. Read a newspaper. Go talk to a person in your community.
  19. People will be better informed and have better political takes if they delete their twitter account
  20. Why does trump’s talking points align with Bernie bro talking points?
  21. The plan is to wrap up the primary, secure a solid VP, get Warren and Bernie to endorse Biden. Focus the TV ads, social media blitz, etc. on 1) the ineptitude and corruption of trump, 2) proposed structural changes to strengthen elections, end gerrymandering, campaign finance reform, end dark money (HB 1), 3) the need to expand healthcare coverage... along with whatever else happens to poll well.
  22. Any signs that Bernie has pivoted? That he listened to Ezra Klein and decided he needs to work with others that aren’t 100% with him on every issue? Getting Warren’s endorsement would have been a meaningful start. Any changes in messaging?
  23. I think the fact that Hillary lost in 2016 may have hurt Warren unfortunately. The odds seem high Biden picks a woman as VP and if the win, it would do well at increasing the odds a woman will win the Dem nominee after Biden.
  24. AOC appears to have realized it was the wrong approach. She reached out yesterday with a tone of coalition building. Bernie’s campaign might have realized it was the wrong approach. They are pushing out adds tying Obama to Bernie. Is it too late to pivot? Would his online supporters even listen? Is is even possible to pivot in a meaningful way for a guy who’s entire career has been about applying a litmus test and alienating others? Bernie is a populist - just like trump. Are people saying they don’t want another populist? I think Ezra Klein is correct. Bernie is just running the wrong campaign.
  25. I spent 6 months jousting with Bernie supporters then voted for him. I'm a strange guy. No worries. I've seen others express similar feelings.
