  1. At this point, we aren’t talking about impeachment. We are talking about a failed impeachment that mobilizes potus’ base
  2. The house votes. It goes to the senate and fails. Do the Dems get constitutional medals? That is all that would happen except potentially provide fodder and fire up trump’s demagoguery and increase his odds of reelection. I don’t see how that is necessary. Removing potus from office should be what is considered necessary.
  3. Yes. The assertion is that impeachment by one party that fails will harm that party at the ballot.
  4. At this point, it is only a political question. Mueller has provided enough evidence for multiple counts of obstruction. No one is refusing to do it because it is scary. The GOP is refusing to do it because reasons - their base doesn’t want them to, they are squarely in potus’s corner - all political reasons. The Dems shouldn’t do it because it will decrease the odds of holding potus accountable at the ballot box - political reason.
  5. Impeachment is a political question. If the GOP wants to hold potus accountable, then impeachment should be done. If the GOP doesn’t want to hold potus accountable, then the public should indicate their displeasure at the ballot box. If the Dems move to impeach without the gop, it will fire up potus’s base and decrease the odds that potus and the GOP will be held accountable at the ballot box. The proper position at this time for the Dems is to hold hearings, disclose information to the public, and investigate trump’s finances. Moving to impeach without the gop is a dumb move
  6. This is a common misconception from folks with minimal or no experience in government or public service and who absorb excessive amounts of right wing media. The GOP’s selling point is that the government can’t do anything, so vote for them so they can prove the point
  7. It’s like opening all your windows so the mosquitos get in your house. Then closing the windows and sleeping outside
  8. Why stop at Devos? Rick Perry. Wilbur Ross. Ben Carson. Mulvaney. Herman Cain. Stephen Moore. Javanka. Anyone who thought a real estate developer/tv personality would drain the swamp is an idiot. Anyone who still thinks trump is draining the swamp watches Fox News
  9. The judge knew what it was. Where is the problem? Is your issue with the warrant of Carter Paige PhD? Read up on him. Guy had foreign tool written on his forehead. Are you mad that a journalist released it and you consider it misinformation? It was described as unconfirmed raw intelligence by the folks that released it to the public. Where is the problem? Are you a bastion of true factual information and this where you are taking a stand? If so, open POTUS's twitter account. #bothsides
  10. Everyone knew it was unconfirmed raw intelligence. No problem with that
  11. What if he was hiding campaign finance crimes where he conspired with his attorney to pay off a porn star and a model to hide his affairs during the campaign?
  12. Read the wiki page. Bernie lost fair and square and superdelegates didn’t block him. If you make an assertion, back it up. How is losing a primary the same as being blocked by the Dems? How do superdelegates have anything to do with Bernie being blocked by Dems? What concept are you attempting to articulate with negative reps? Explain yourself rather than acting emotionally with negative reps
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries Bernie lost the primary. It is simple. He didn't get enough votes. He wasn't blocked. He lost. Bernie bros have a bad rep for this kind of stuff.
  14. The report identifies and analyzes 10 episodes of concern in the obstruction investigation: - conduct involving then-FBI Director Comey and Michael Flynn; - the president’s reaction to the continuing Russia investigation; - the president’s termination of Comey; - the appointment of a special counsel and efforts to remove him; - efforts to curtail the special counsel’s investigation; - efforts to prevent public disclosure of evidence; - further efforts to have the attorney general take control of the investigation; - efforts to have White House Counsel Don McGahn deny that the president had ordered him to have the special counsel removed; - conduct toward Flynn, Manafort, and a redacted individual (likely Roger Stone); and - conduct involving Michael Cohen. Each episode includes a detailed set of factual findings and then analyzes how the evidence maps onto the criminal charge of obstruction, which requires (1) an obstructive act; (2) a nexus with an official proceeding; and (3) a corrupt intent. The critical point is that in six of these episodes, the special counsel’s office suggests that all of the elements of obstruction are satisfied. In the cases of Comey’s firing, Trump’s effort to fire Mueller and then push McGahn to lie about it, and Trump’s effort to curtail the scope of the investigation, Mueller describes “substantial” evidence that Trump intended to obstruct justice. Only in one instance—concerning Trump’s effort to prevent the release of emails regarding the Trump Tower meeting—does the special counsel seem to feel that none of the three elements of the obstruction offense were met. https://www.lawfareblog.com/what-mueller-found-russia-and-obstruction-first-analysis
  15. Hillary’s primary flaw was that right wing media, talking heads, and Fox News lambasted her for decade so that people just assumed Hillary = corruption, even though there isn’t any evidence. also the whole both sides are same narrative falls completely apart as soon as you compare trump with Obama. They are a reflection of their electorate
  16. The only barrier that blocked Bernie was getting less votes in the primary.
  17. There was also a crime that directly implicated Trump. The investigation found evidence with Cohen that there was a campaign finance conspiracy with trump being individual 1. That was spun to SDNY.
  18. I was only really referring to the conspiracy with Russians with the Dems using until election. The obstruction item is a separate deal that should also be vetted and may be labeled a crime. Combine that with Individual 1’s campaign finance violations there me be several “criminal” acts by POTUS.
  19. Since we know there won’t be impeachment cause GOP, the game shifts to Dems using the report, hearings, etc. to rub the GOP’s face in this until the election.
  20. Imagine this sentence: "The woman's efforts to have her husband killed were mostly unsuccessful, but that is largely because the hitman who the woman hired declined to carry out orders or accede to her requests."
  21. I haven't seen anyone saying this. I'm not on twitter though
  22. It’s not a conspiracy theory that trump's Secretary of State labeled Wikileaks as a hostile intelligence service. Or that mueller described Organization 1 in the gru/guccifer indictment. Or that mueller described Wikileaks as coordinating the timing with Stone. Those are all facts
