  1. One of the two best mascots in college sports. Due is simmering about something. Maybe an abscessed left molar.
  2. Interesting - I saw the seasons on Netflix but looks like shenanigans and now on HBO Max. Will have to get my shit together and figure out where I am. Fat asshole mean guy, and bald less assholey mean guy.
  3. Old Man Syndrome. It was better when the teams didn't change so frequently. Three of the four Purple People Eaters were together for 10 years. (Right when I started watching football). Purple People Eaters were the defensive line of the Minnesota Vikings from the late 1960s to the late 1970s. The term is a reference to a popular song from 1958, the efficiency of the defense, and the color of their uniforms. The motto of the Purple People Eaters was "Meet at the quarterback."[1] Defensive tackle Alan Page, 9 Pro Bowl selections (1968–1976), NFL MVP (1971), Pro Football Hall of Fame[2] Defensive end Carl Eller, 6 Pro Bowl selections (1968–1971, 1973–1974), Pro Football Hall of Fame[3] Defensive end Jim Marshall, 2 Pro Bowl selections (1968–1969)[4] Defensive tackle Gary Larsen, 2 Pro Bowl selections (1969–1970)[5] Larsen was replaced in 1974 by Doug Sutherland.[6]
  4. This thread makes me think I get over my team's misfortune pretty damn fast. I generally get ragey and WFT!!! for a day but by the next day I'm thinking I can't wait until revenge. Will save "heartbroken" for dogs and unrequited first or second crushes. But the Colt injury v. Alabama -- makes some sense.
  5. Well, hat's off to you. The trumpy folks who pollute my social media feeds didn't watch either. So you're in good company.
  6. I think you just made my point. Some people are willing to put 100% of their effort into a lost cause. When that happens, it's worth watching, even if the results aren't achieved. I thought the Dems did a nice presentation, and I learned the names of a couple of folks who I didn't know who I thought were good "impeachment lawyers". (Joe Neguse, for instance.) Sometimes something is worth viewing just for the craft. I understand they lost, but you went off indicating there would be no reason to watch it.
  7. Because most lawyers would be moderately interested in the process and presentation. It was repetitive, but given that some of the work product from the Dems didn't completely suck, it was somewhat encouraging.
  8. The Notebook (2013-Hungary) Not a happy movie. Recommended by one of you lot I think. Very very good.
  9. Thought this was terrific, although didn't like the way they drew out the last scene. But really enjoyable.
  10. Miss Bala (2011 original Mexican version) I thought this was pretty good. Straightforward Baja Cali cartel story based on true events (Sinaloa beauty queen). The lead actress isn't a beauty queen, but the story works.
  11. I actually thought this guy was Castor on cocaine before I realized he was someone else.
  12. Holy shit, great point. Trump's argument is that he can simply do again what he did.
  13. Speaking of legal stuff, every time Pat Leahy speaks, it sounds like a dying declaration hearsay exception.
  14. They didn't even ask the ex-President to come testify!
  15. Shoot, I thought it had and they declined to answer it.
