What do you order at Whataburger?
I can get it. When the HBCB came out, my initial reaction was FUCK YES SOUNDS AMAZING, but every time I have gotten it, it just doesn't come close to what the sum of the parts should be IMO. I wouldn't turn one down if placed in front of me, but BOB and taquitos are superior, as was the true king, sausage egg & chz on a jalapeno cheddar biscuit, may he rest in power.

$25 NCAA pick every seed contest
Cross-posting from Gamboool board: OK, we are back in on this, we had 14 entries last year, hoping we can fly by that this year. PM me to make picks and get payment details. LFG! You select one team on every seed line (so a 1 seed, a 2 seed, a 3 seed, etc etc). You also pick a wild card team who is NOT in your original selections. So you will select 17 teams. The scoring is 1 point for a win in the 1st round, 3 for a win in the 2nd, 5 for a win in the S16, 7 for a win in the E8, 9 for a win in the F4, and 11 for a natty win PLUS the team's seed is added to each win. So you get 2 points if your 1 seed wins in the first round, and 15 if your 14 seed does. The First Four play-in games don't count, so for example you could pick the winner of Pitt/Miss State (either before or after they play in the First Four, totally fine for one of your picks to be "Pitt/Miss State", but can't pick one of those teams and earn points for the play-in win. $25/entry, must pay and make selections by tipoff Thursday. I will share the Google Sheet with everyone by end of day Thurs and will post my own picks in the thread before tipoff so everyone knows I didn't just wait for the best picks.

OK, we are back in on this, looking forward to having a more efficient spreadsheet haha. The First Four play-in games don't count, so for example if Pitt vs Arizona State is a 12 seed play-in game, you could pick the winner of Pitt/ASU (either before or after they play, totally fine for one of your picks to be "Pitt/ASU", but can't pick one of those teams and earn points for the play-in win. $25/entry, must pay and make selections by tipoff Thursday. I will share the Google Sheet with everyone by end of day Thurs and will post my own picks in the thread before tipoff so everyone knows I didn't just wait for the best picks. 2023 Poker in the Rear
What was your fourth street card? Assume it wasn’t the suit of your AK? I don’t hate folding with two people pairing middling door cards with an ace also dead for your two pair draw. Reasonable chance at least one of them made trips, especially if they aren’t complete morons.

Drive-By Truckers
I have a pair for the show in Austin on March 24 at the Paramount. Aisle seats in Orchestra Right, row U, seats 1-2, easy access to beverages, etc. $120 for the pair which is what I paid. Super sad to miss, but my kiddo got a movie gig in Miami, and happy to miss for that.

New SEC divisions and pods thread (Page 38 starts recent discussion)
Definitely requires much more maintenance and precision to not overshoot the runway. Way more straightforward being housed by 1045 starting at 7, esp if you're willing to have booze in the parking lot rather than all beer.

Exactly. When it's at 11 you get uncrowded fair from 745-915 or so, and then again after like 6. When it's at 230, there is no uncrowded fair.

Guess it depends what you want and what you're looking for. I really enjoy having time at the fair when it isn't packed out elbows to assholes. They open the gates early when the kick is 11, and we get to the Fair at 7, drink in the lot, and are inside by 8, grabbing corny dogs and fried butter without wait. OTOH, at the 230 games, the gates don't open early, and every shitbird is there by the time stuff opens resulting in long ass lines and hot annoying days. Then after the game when it's 11, we can chill for a bit as people disperse, then enjoy more of the fair in reasonable crowds. But when 230, people hanging for a couple hours after the fair have everyone still onsite until 8-830, and it's much more crowded even until close. Plus 11-230 is a less hot window in the actual stadium than 230-6 is. Now, if you just want to go out and get shithoused Friday night and be able to sleep til noon, I guess sure, but I can do that any day. I wanna soak in the fair on OU-Texas day.
