  1. OK, I fucked around and am now finding out.

Got into a 7/1 ARM at 3.25% in Feb 2016.  Obv that means the rate goes away 10 months for now.

Didn't refi when times were good, because OBVIOUSLY should be able to do that anytime!

Recommended strat here? Reading through the thread, part of me is tempted to just wait for the bounce-down, but obv have some fear of cataclysm where it just never stops and is like 9% or worse in Feb 2023 and then it's welp city.

Current balance is 248k, last year's tax appraisal was 550, this year's is 825 (fucking lol). Current credit is >800. Some cash was taken out with the Feb 2016 loan.

Selectively berating people is disingenuous horseshit as well.   I’d say you duck dicks for breakfast because you’re a Sooner, but that’s more of an affirmation.   I wouldn’t berate you for it though.

What a crock of shit. We selectively berate people all the time. Sometimes it's warranted and sometimes it's not. A theatre berating someone for bringing a box of junior mints is an asshole. The same theatre berating someone for bringing in a full meal is not an asshole. Someone wearing a mask when it is not required has absolutely zero impact on anyone else. Someone not wearing a mask when it is required does have an impact on other people.

I've not berated anyone for wearing a mask or not wearing a mask at any point. But considering consequences when deciding on the reaction level isn't "fluid ethics" as was stated, and it was in fact disingenous horseshit. If someone is going 15mph over the speed limit in my residential neighborhood where kids are playing, I might in fact get their attention to slow the fuck down, and then actually drive 15mph over the speed limit on a wide-open interstate in good conditions. That's not hypocritical or "fluid ethics", that is just considering all circumstances in evaluating behavior.

Just like Serak correctly points out, if I wear a mask around you it literally harms you not an iota. People not wearing masks around others do negatively impact others, as masks do in fact reduce the spread, even if not as much as would be hoped for. But even a 0.5% reduction does add up when you're dealing with large numbers. If I'm an immunocompromised cashier who processes 4,000 people a week, yes if all of those people wear masks it will make a not insignificant impact on my risk level, especially over even longer periods of time.

Buddy received a burger minus the meat patty recently, so basically a Whatabread.

This happened to us a couple weeks back at the Temple one. What the actual fuck? The only two times in my life I've heard of someone getting a burger with literally no burger, and they are both at Whataburger in the last 60 days?

First time experience at Zavala’s. They were super nice and friendly. Food was very good. Brisket texture was great, seemed slightly under seasoned. Got the Pizza Pepper and Brisket Sausage, both good but not unmissable. Brisket poppers were greaaaat. Sloppy Juan taco was super tasty and great value. Nanner puddin also on point.

  5. Assuming my flight is on time (lol) in the morning I’ll be at Zavalas when it opens. Will report back.

Looking forward to hearing! Planning on both Zavala’s and Hurtado this weekend.

Anyone who knows: If we get to Hurtado at 1030, when should we expect food?

  6. I’d prefer to target getting value since the parlay of him having a flush draw and it coming is pretty remote. If he has a flush draw 1/4 of the time he’s going to improve to a winning flush 5% of the time.

But not saying I hate the idea or anything.

  7. What a dickhead card. Given there is 520 in pot and he has like 600 behind I don’t think I’m willing to fold turn, due to combo of we can hit if he has straight and he could get it in bluffing or semibluffing. So I’m gonna target making a bet that he is tempted to call with 99 or TT etc. I’d bet 160 which leaves a half pot jam on river.

Alopecia is literally baldness but there are nine different forms of it.  Jada Smith has alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that results in unpredictable hair loss.  In her case, it was coming out in patches, leaving other places with hair. Like this:

Sure, fine. It's not creating health concerns, and if she is actually self-conscious over the situation, they are worth high 8 or low 9 figures, preeetttttaayy sure it could have been addressed without anyone knowing.

Looks like HornPhD and my dad (Deadhead Faja) have locked the money spots. If Kansas beats Nova, PhD wins and if Nova wins, pops wins. GG all!

This is not accurate.  Deadhead has locked a money spot. HornPhD will get the other unless Villanova wins the natty in which case Bartles would be in 2nd place over him.

  10. Does all this analysis actually go through y’alls head live, while making a decision? If so, I don’t want to be in the same vicinity as you and a deck of cards.

Most of it is in the prep work and being used to certain situations, rather than recalibrating from scratch every hand.

  11. He said he was aggro, he was on the button, and we were UTG.  I think its a spot to provide some variance to your 4 bet range that is not AA/KK or AK.  A 5 bet will always suck when you are at the bottom of your range.  If you fold though, you lose a little more than you do if you flat and lose.
With regards to what you do after the flop if he just flats - you play the remainder of the hand out of position just like you would have done if you just called the 3 bet.  You are super cautious of AA/KK being slow played.  With the 500 pot and 900 behind your continuation bet should be in the range of $300.  It's not an easy spot, but the alternatives aren't great either.

Agree with all of this logic. Wasn’t meaning by my post that I wouldn’t necessarily 4b here, just describing in a vacuum when I would want to 4b vs flat. I do prefer a polarized 4b range rather than linear so adding the A4s/A5s works better than adding strong hands that are ahead of the 3b but way behind the 5b. JJ is right in the border.

As far as playing just like if we flat tho, the pot is much smaller with a diff SPR so that will affect things a lot. I would base my cbet size on the flop texture but would very likely be a lot smaller than 300.

Also agree that there are no great alternatives and this is another example of how OOP just sucks.

  12. I don’t think folding turn there is weak, it’s def a close shitty spot. Nice session!

I like 4b pre if opp is really squeezy and agg preflop, or if he’s good and the original caller of your raise is terrible (since the 3b is more likely to be light), or if one of you is shorter so you’re fine just getting in pre. Without these we can get in some super gross spots. Obv getting 5b will suck ass, but so will getting flat called. Say we go 220 and he calls. Now there is almost 500 in pot and we have 900 behind. An overcard will come 1/2 the time. Are we giving up all of those times? Just committed to get in no matter what?
