  1. Yeah the 7am-745 window is due to consuming vodka in the parking lot haha. Also the food vendors state that they aren't open until 8. I don't need to go into the fair until corny dogs are available for purchase. Are you saying that they are selling corny dogs and beer at 715?
  2. Fair no open at 8 when 230 game, so no you can't just go in. Normal fair open time is 9 for parking lots and ticket booths and 10 for buildings/food/etc. They modify it for 11a kicks but not 230 kicks. And at 10 for the 2017 game it was absolutely butts to nuts trying to get anything. I will have a beer and a Fletcher's in 12 days at 8:02 AM, same transaction in 2017 took 20-30 minutes. NOPE.
  3. Disagree. When the game is 11, they open the fair at or before 8, so you can actually get there before the crowd hits. When it's 2:30, everything opens at 10, and all the crowd and heat are already there. We get to the parking lot at 7, drink til 745, then head in and get 90 minutes or so of cool weather, short lines, and space to wander. It's glorious.
  4. New space at The Lodge is really, really nice for anyone who hasn't made it out. Played Flight 1D of their $1125 1.25M guarantee Main Event Friday. Great tourney, super structure (I'd replace the worthless 100/100 with a 300/500/500, but still). Good dealers, really comfortable, etc. Chipped up consistently all day, winning tons of non-showdown pots and making a couple of good thin river calls. But went 0/3 on all in pots, and can't win that way. First one, I defend BB headsup with AT, flop T74, turn T, get it in, he has 44 and we can't find a T, 7, or A. Second one, dealer accidentally exposes one of my cards, a five. With the replacement card, I now have AA. Get it in pre vs QQ, Q in the window. Literally the only exposed card I saw in 7 hours, if it doesn't happen, I obv just fold pre, when it does happen I have a HUGE spot with massive edge for a giant pot, instant fucked. Third one, get TT in pre vs AK, flop T54, turn 2, river 3. Obv a flip when it gets in, but seriously fuck the fuck off.
  5. Glad to hear he didn't give in to the pressure! We are going to the fair the night before the game in addition this year, to be able to try more stuff without being totally miserable, and hopefully less crowd, so we will be sending him plenty of business.
  6. haha we had about $140 in coopins from 2019, so now we have $280 in coopins.
  7. reelgood.com is another good one, and you can make an account and choose what services you have for a customized list of what you have, what's coming, leaving, etc. And yeah, I watched the subtitled Train to Busan, not dubbed.
  8. Also love Babadook.
  9. Sequel is good too. The third one is meh. A fourth one is en route.
  10. Quarantine is an American remake of [REC] and is also solid, but [REC] is way better.
  11. Nice! That's my wife's top pick off the list, so we will be hitting it up for sure. Looks great!
  12. BTW, Henry, One Cut of the Dead, and The Love Witch have been covered by Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder, which is always a super fun and interesting watch.
  13. More new food items here (no idea why Fried Frito Pie is on this, it's been around for years, and it definitely fucks, so get it if you've not before): https://bigtex.com/plan-your-visit/food/new-food/
  14. I don't know how it started, but my dad and I would rent movies when I was a kid and I loved picking horror movies. I can remember being like 8 after watching The Exorcist and being sure I heard something clattering in the attic and seeing the face of Pazuzu in front of me. Anyone else out there who loves horror, Shudder is super worth it, and Tubi is free and has a very good selection of horror (ads, but not grotesquely intrusive).
  15. I've seen about 1/3 and had about 1/3 on my watchlist, and will be adding the rest, thanks for this! The ones I've seen, can confirm are very good, and definitely second the recommendation of watching Train to Busan if you have not.
  16. I’ll be at WSOP/Venetian/Wynn Nov 14-22. Also playing the Lodge main next weekend.
  17. I remember reading about a bad beat jackpot that got borked similarly. Something like board is 9TJdddJx. JJ and 78dd get it in. OMG bad beat wooooooo! Except river was Qd and now 78dd isn’t playing both cards womp womp.
  18. Masks not going to be required while seated at table at WSOP.
  19. This. I looked at Turo for a Vegas rental, but either a $75-100 delivery fee to have the car at airport, or I have to Uber/Taxi to where the car is, then drop it at the end, then Uber/Taxi back, which was adding the same $75 and added inconvenience.
  20. This would say positive if you had been infected.
  21. Had the same experience described here. Made account 24 hours after draw, not available, email arrives 10 minutes later with results. 2nd Moderna on 3/31, no infection antibodies, spike protein 1782. 44yo.
  22. No, which is a big part of why they required vax. They previously adjusted the rule on “close contacts” to only include unvaxxed. So now the dealer will be out but the players can continue unless symptoms.
  23. Heh. I even tweeted I thought the deal with Pinkertons and Bijan was badass. He seems like a great kid. Doesn’t hurt my feelings any.
