Some was Snapchat but some was texts. Cop deleted it all. He also said that their sexting was just flirting, not planning to fuck that night.
-
The text said it was still happening in Feb but there was no evidence as to when it stopped.
Also I think the conduct meets the elements of murder but also could meet the elements of manslaughter. The act of discharging the firearm there could be reckless. She may have taken an intentional act while recklessly believing she had a defense. -
He said he thought they stopped having sex by end of 2017. Pros showed him a text that he then agreed indicated they were still having sex in Feb 2018. Did not say they were still having sex in Sept. A contradiction/misstatement but not a glowing smoking gun.

I would like to see pictures or video of the hallway. Defense claiming that the apartment numbers are high up and Guyger being 5’3” didn’t or wouldn’t easily notice them.
Me too. But even if you have to look up, if those are the only possible way to know what floor you were on, wouldn’t any reasonable person do that? -
Defense argument contradicts itself. It can’t simultaneously be impossible to tell what floor you’re on and also reasonable to not take .8 seconds to look at the elevator or apt numbers before walking past 16 doors just to find out you’re on the wrong floor. Wouldn’t that suck to walk all that way when you’re OMG SO EXHAUSTED YOU GUYS FORTY HOURS IN ONLY FOUR DAYS ALSO SHE WOKE UP EARLY TO WALK HER DOG.

I could see them trying to get 3 SEC teams in this year, and I’m not joking.
Only in the very unlikely event that you have a 13-0, 12-1, 11-1 scenario. That’s almost certainly not going to end up happening and if it does, they would all have pretty solid arguments and it might help expand it a bit. -

I haven't actually raised there with A-2. Typically, i do the weak call. But I have been watching some poker teaching videos lately and it seems they want you to raise A-2 there as a bluff and raise enough where you narrow it down to one caller. With 5 limpers can anyone really be that strong there, unless the original limper is trapping? Don't you have a good chance at taking down the pot with a C-Bet? I guess what I am getting from the videos is multi-way pots are bad.
Multi-way pots are bad if we don't have a good hand for multi-way pots (suited aces and small/medium pairs are wonderful hands for multi-way pots).
At some point, we are just investing way too much to win what is currently a pot of less than $10. So we open to $30 and get one caller (and yeah, I see people limp behind hands like 88, AJs, AQo, even AK, all the time because they "wanna see the flop first.") Flop is K75r. Good c-bet flop! But now we are betting $25-35 more, so now we have invested 30-40 big blinds with A2, no pair, no draw, for what exactly?
Raising bigger makes a bit more sense to me in a tourney, where the blinds/antes are much more important to win. IMO, the value of A2s in a 300 BB deep cash game isn't stealing $10 or bluffing someone out of a headsup pot when we have the worst hand, it is stacking someone in a $1000 pot because we get flush over flush.
-
I was wondering what people think of this preflop raise amount. what should be the purpose of a raise there? should it be to weed out the field and try to get heads up in position? or should it be to build the pot in case we hit something? i would think with 5 limpers and two blinds we would want to raise to like $30 and try to get heads up with someone who is overcalling after limping.
$30 is way too big with A2. A2 is barely favored over a random hand. It’s getting murdered by a range that is calling a 15x raise.
Also if we are raising A2 we are raising a ton of hands. We can’t be raising that whole range to 15x.
I took the $12 as a raise to pot sweeten and give us the initiative, which is valuable. I would limp behind instead, but $12 seems fine to me also.
I would limp because I do wanna raise a bit bigger ($20ish) and will be doing that with a tighter range. -

$2/2, sitting w $600.
5 limpers to me, I make it $12 w A2dd on the button. Blinds and two limpers call. $60 pot.
8d 5d 4s. Checks to me. I make it $25 and only BB calls. $110 pot.
3h. BB is a cocky Indian in his late 20s that is waiting for a $2/5 seat to open up. He’s run his $300 buyin up to $700 while waiting. He and I also have a fair amount of history, with him on the winning side of most of it. He’s usually very splashy, so I pick my spots with him but have historically picked poorly! He checks and I bet $35 w my straight and flush draw. He slowly slides out a $100 stack.
Do we call or raise?16 hours ago, Lurch said:I’m inclined to think reraising is OP, but I acted too hastily and just called, looking for him to bet again on the river. $310 pot.
Qh. He does indeed bet, this time $175. Call, minraise to $350 or jam the full $465 remaining in my stack?
I think the turn is suuuuper close. If we could reasonably jam, that's good, but jamming is too big, and reraising without jamming is going to look monstrously strong, so I think calling is best.
On river, jam >> call >>>>>>>>> minraise. Same thing, minraise looks soooooo strong. At least a jam can be missed diamonds, but you aren't ever going 350 with missed diamonds. Also, I think his call range isn't much narrower (hell it could be wider!) to a jam, so get max value.

Open MP to $10 w Q9s. Only BTN (old quiet Asian dude) calls.
KJT rainbow. I bet $10, call. $40 pot.
3x. I bet $25, call. $90 pot.
5x. I check, he bets $65 of his $125 stack. I call to see his AQ. He definitely let me off easy.
Today:
I raise over a few limpers to $15 on BTN w KcTc. BB and limpers call. $60 pot.
AhQsJd. Checks to me and I figure, “why bet?”.
Qc. Checks to me and this time I bet $25. Only BB calls.
Qh. Motherfucker. Chk chk and he has a Jack.
On the Q9 hand, why are we checking river??? This is a definite bet. This villain is going to check back lots and lots of hands that he will cry-call with. I am definitely getting it in on river for $60 more once he bets, but calling there is not as big of a mistake IMO as checking in the first place.
On the KT hand, defffffffffffffinitely bet flop. As to "why bet?", two good reasons. For one, this board almost surely hit the limpers, so get paid. We should check-fold hands like 66 on this board. Why? Because betting is going to be pointless, because someone has a better hand than us, and they are going to call. So bet here, and get called. For two, if it missed them, there are not many, if any, cards that will come and give them a good hand. Only possibility is someone having something like 66 and turning a set. Miniscule chances. For three, if the preflop raiser checks a board like AQJ and then raises later, it just SCREAMS strength. For example, say I have QJ on AQJ here and you check back flop. Turn 5. I lead, you raise, I'm pretty happily folding, whereas if you go bet-bet, I'm calling both bets for sure. The only way I would say we should ever check a flop like this as the PFR that we blast multiway is if eff stacks are shallow enough to get the money in in 2 bets. So here with a $60 pot, if we bet $40 flop and get one call, there is $140, so we could reasonably jam $125ish on river. So if we are $165 or so effective or shallower, we can check, then just call turn if led into or bet turn if they check.

Plus, complainer or asians may think your raising light v. lunatic to isolate and be more aggressive pre-flop. I wouldn't get cute there and call even though I understand the line of thought as well.
You mean you wouldn’t call pre right? You’re calling the flop bet, not raising, yes? -

There's a certain shamelessness to the way blOU runs its offense to pad QB stats. Hurts would never have put these numbers up at Alabama. You can't tell me he's anything but a system QB at this point.
What way is that, efficiently? Knock the competition all you want, but Hurts has come out of all 3 games early, even though the UH game was close enough to leave him in with no one batting an eye, and he played one drive in the 2H against S. Dakota. 10 of Hurts' 13 TDs have come in the first half of games.

Peterson finished 2nd that year, Ced (RIP 🤘) finished 6th. Blame the voters if you want, but no one who finished 6th in the voting has gotten an invite.

Absolutely just call. Beautiful flop and spot. Raising just drives out low to mid pocket pairs. You are literally never raising this flop 7 handed as a bluff, so no one will buy that. If you raise, hands like 77-99 would be suicidal to 3-bet. Are they value-raising or kamikaze bluffing? They are WAY more likely to fold to your minraise than to reraise.
Fun hand from Reno - I limp behind K5cc on button, 6 to flop, AT9cc. Checks to me, I bet $10, 3 calls. Turn Ac. Checks to me, I bet $30, 3 calls. River offsuit 7. Check to me, I jam $105, one guy jams for $80 total, another tank grumble-folds. He shows 7h7d for the rivered boat. Flop call is horrific. I can't imagine a possible world where it goes $30-call on AAT9ccc and a player is still live behind you, and you toss in 30 bucks with two red sevens. Obv rewarded. Tank-folder had trip aces, and confirmed he's paying off my river jam if dumbass 77 guy isn't in there.
I swear to Christ, 75-80% of the time when there's a wait how the fuck did that happen hand at the table, I'm on the losing end of it.

Honestly, 24th feels about right to me. Does anyone really think Texas is currently much better or worse than that? It's possible of course, but all available evidence seems to indicate otherwise.
You know you're fucked up on this when even the Sooners are responding with LOL no.

That sounds fun lol. I’m in Reno for a golf trip and may have some fun pokah stories this week, prolly won’t match that though!
I don’t see why you folded the AQ when they have literal random hands. You also say “tourney, sure” but you could actually justify folding in a tourney (kinda, depending on all factors) bc tourney life is a thing, but in a cash game it’s just pure cold EV (presuming you aren’t underrolled and have cash on hand).

My guess is it is more like Chipotle barbacoa, meaning "spiced shredded beef" but still should be pretty gotdamn tasty.

My favorite moment of the offseason has come and gone - the announcement of the new Big Tex foods, finalists, and winners!
https://bigtex.com/plan-your-visit/food/big-tex-choice-awards/
They all look pretty intriguing to me, not sure I wanna chance State Fair shrimp, but the taco cone looks elite (and won best taste - savory), and the Big Red Bread has great potential IMO (and won best taste - sweet).
Wish we got full descriptions of the semi-finalists as well, the Texas Fried Frito Pie Burrito Dog and Fried Southern Bourbon Bread Pudding sound promising!

Goes 2500-call in front of me, I jam TT from BB for 24k first guy calls off for 19k, second guy for 23k. First guy AA, second guy 55. Blank flop, I turn T of spades, but River is the 4th spade and AA has As. Massive cocktease there for huge pot. I win the side pot and have 7500 left.
Next hand two limps, I complete T9o from SB, BB check. Flop 998cc. I ck BB ck limper 2500, other limper call, I jam my 7k, BB call 7k, first guy folds other limper call. So 26k in the middle. Turn 5. BB ck other guy jam she tank folds. He has 76 for turned straight. He had 4 outs in the deck since T gives me boat. Now I have 10 outs to redraw but miss. Calling bottom end of OESD on paired flush draw board with 2 players putting in a lot of chips is pretty bad but hey!!!
Prettttay frustrated. -
BB is away from table, MP limps, I complete SB with T3ss. 4k in pot. Flop T43hh. I ck he 1500, I jam 19.4k to rep a draw (last time I ck raise all in I had OESD) and he can never fold if he limped a monster but he folds.
-
Two limps, I complete A3hh from SB. I ck call down against the same lady that went berserk on ace high flops twice before on A5Accs 6s 8d and get shown AJ. She can’t have JJ or QQ now? #cmonman. Still 24ish.
-
Open KJ to 1200 UTG, loose caller, and guy who normally plays pretty big cash (bought in $4k in uncapped 1/3 last night) calls BB. Flop T98. Ck I ck loose bets 1700, BB call, I jam 10.4k, loose tank calls, BB tank jams, loose tank folds A9, BB has T8. Q ball on turn. Board pairs river but it’s a 9. Full triple to 35k. Leggggggo.
-
Jam 3800 from CO with 33 at 200/400/400. BTN call he has A2hh. Such a bad call. 3h in window which is interesting but flop is QQ3 and we hold. Nice to get rewarded!
Dallas officer kills man after mistaking apartment for her own, police say
in Daily Texan

Ehhhhhhhhh. "A person commits [manslaughter] if he recklessly causes the death of an individual." The combination of not checking what floor you are on in an OMG SO CONFUSING apartment complex plus shooting to kill with no evidence of threat to your life plus ability to retreat certainly can be considered reckless or criminally negligent. It can be argued against also, but no chance it is so deficient it is tossed on appeal.
As I stated, it does also meet the definition of murder, but the argument that these facts absolutely can't be manslaughter or CNH doesn't hold water to me.
EDIT to add: I know for tort law, "reasonableness" standard is based on the actor. If that also applies to crim law, reasonable behavior for her is colored by her training as a police officer, access to police radio, etc.
