  1. Winning (spring games) is hard. Particularly for our edgE rushers going against perhaps our best tackle since Leonard Davis. However, one data point in favor of Sorrell is that I think he MIGHT have turned our first play from scrimmage into a sack in an actual game. Either way, it was a solid rep worth noting.
  2. Y'all, it was the spring game. Chill. That said, do we have any takeaways on positions other than QB? Did any freshmen look impressive?
  3. This will be the balancing factor. Not every recruit wanting to take an official visit every single weekend will have an equal number of suitors. Only the elite 5 stars will get that treatment.
  4. Imagine you're gaining some recognition in your career and multiple companies are recruiting you to come in and interview for an executive position and then go out to dinner on their dime, but there is some dumb law that you can only interview with 5 companies. Let the kids have as many damn visits as they want.
  5. I just can't wrap my head around how he was just live streaming that shit. He deserves to suffer the consequences he has coming.
  6. We already knew this, but Maalik is huge.
  7. I went to high school with a Trey Owens so this one hits pretty close to home for me. Hook’em Trey!
  8. I’m guessing Trey Owens will at least be a solid 4 star by the time it’s all said and done. He’ll be a good developmental prospect for sure.
  9. Seriously though, if our lawmakers want to investigate something, they should lead a federal probe into why Texas doesn’t have a gymnastics program. #nocloakroom
  10. Unless, Quinn can totally fix his deep ball accuracy struggles, I hope we can make it a major focus to target Whittington, Sanders, and Cain on intermediate routes much more often. Those types of throws are already Quinn’s sweet spot. Let’s emphasize that.
  11. I’m not a baseball expert either, but I played through high school. In my mind, baseball more than any other sport, hinges on consistent and continuous player development. You just never know when you’ve maxed out someone’s ability to recognize and react to pitches, their arm strength, etc.
  12. Sydir Mitchell was also playing but not sure if he ever got his name called. I just had the game on in the background while making dinner, so I could have missed it.
  13. So they’ll probably get drafted high and never enroll at Texas? Just want to make sure my expectations are accurately set.
  14. I understand why people are frustrated with him, but how about we stop shitting on him until he’s actually gone. If I had to guess, I’d assume the coaches are giving him through spring practice to shape up. If he doesn’t, he’s cut off. Perhaps we give him the same timeline.
  15. There’s no reason to believe that TCU can’t become the Clemson of the southwest. They’re going to leverage this championship appearance (and possible national championship victory) as well as their conference record against us to pull in some metroplex trophy fish ‘croots for years to come. That said, there no reason why we can’t simultaneously be perennial top 10 teams, but they will be a thorn in our side long after we change conferences.
  16. Wow, we had a bunch of emotional pansies posting in this thread last night. Quinn played a really solid game. I have no doubt he’ll develop this off season and at least raise his floor quite a bit.
  17. Off ball is the crap we had Joseph Ossai doing his first two seasons. On ball/edge/EDGE is what he was doing in year 3.
  18. I guess once they’ve gotten you to purchase the diamonds, complimentary rearranging of said jewels is a no brainer.
  19. Texas Recruiting Notes 2024: Porn Stars, Gorillas, and 6-Stars?
  20. I can't wait for Sark to pull the classic Dad-coach move by not starting him the first game to appear unbiased, and then starting him at shortstop/pitcher - uh I mean MLB - the rest of his career. Should go well.
