  1. Got their QB and the jaggy OL
  2. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jayson-kent-1.html 1 year of eligibility
  3. I've compared him to both Johnson and Tyson but I was purely responding to the Chris Beard aspect which fit Tyson more Very concerned, either Scott was misled on what his role would be in which case RT is a bad recruiter/communicator or RT decided recently that Scott wasn't good enough to be on the court his freshman year in which case RT made a bad talent evaluation and wasted resources recruiting him at all and taking his commitment. Either way some of us are pointing out that we're clearly mistreating these top 30-75 ranked recruits in some way and should not be recruiting them going forward since they'll expect playing time which we apparently refuse to give them so we should only be recruiting 1 and done types and projects actually willing to ride the pine going forward.
  4. Where's mommy moving him this time?
  5. Jaylon Tyson was literally a clone of Scott's circumstances, high 4* who got next to no minutes with us, leaves and immediately blossoms into a guy who's a likely 1st round pick this year. Was he as good as he is now as a freshman? No. Was he worth getting minutes as a freshman and playing a role and being able to contribute to winning basketball. Probably.
  6. I see it as high 4*+ guys expecting to come in and play as freshmen, then don't and leave (Johnson), or see that RT is recruiting over them with transfers and aren't interested in playing that game with RT which is totally understandable. High school recruiting strategy/roster management feels like it's some serious ass right now. RT has to be honest with himself and the recruits about their role, actually play and try to develop them, or stop trying to recruit this type of player though.
  7. RT's management of recruits leaves a lot to be desired so far. Kinda predictable given how many combo guards/2's we've looked at in the portal already
  8. From Oklahoma's 247 site: I'd like Garrison but I don't think he's worth treating as the #1 end all be all like Oklahoma is. Can probably allocate resources better elsewhere
  9. Didn't he say this already in an interview after the loss? Either way, official now I guess
  10. Discusses his recruitment a little here
  11. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jordan-pope-1.html
  12. Scruggs: Crystal Ballin': A 5-pack of predictions for 2025 targets
  13. Well here's confirmation OSU is out
  14. Ignoring the Aggieness of thinking the SEC is somehow some mega conference you have to survive in basketball which it really isn't. Here are schools that starters from Final 4 teams began at: East Carolina Loyola MD Illinois State Winthrop Butler Garden City CC Ohio St Peters North Dakota State Cal State Fullerton Southern Illinois But sure, the big Texas basketball program is too good for a guy who was the best player on an Indiana St team that should have made the tourney last year. And I'm sure you would rather have Dillon Mitchell on the floor, who can't shoot from beyond 2 feet, in crunch-time over a guy like Avila who can be an offensive hub.
  15. Griffen info supposedly comes from Jamie Shaw at On3 but I can't find anything connecting Isaacs, Wolf, Youngblood, or Stojakovich. All of them are good enough players and have no need to share any of the team contact info with reporters though There's definitely a very big through line you can connect between players we're interested in and them growing up in state. Really don't want to be in the Pop Isaacs business after we just got done dealing with Arturio Morris's heinous shit https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jayson-kent-1.html Hadn't seen but this is Kent confirming he'll be here this weekend. Another take I'd like but wouldn't automatically assume he'd be the starter.
  16. Obviously means he's most likely going to one place (SLU) but it's not like it prevents him from talking to other schools, just that he has to make 1st contact which it seems like he's done
  17. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/julian-larry-1.html Really like this possibility and I think it signals what we think will happen with Hunter
  18. Carey Booth did an interview and broke down the teams recruiting him and maybe he's not a priority but when this is the best you can say about RT/the program compared to the other schools well lmao
  19. https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/texas-linebacker-no-longer-part-of-the-longhorn-football-program/ Surprised it hadn't been posted but Burrell gone for association with the Sweat accident
  20. Tyrie is a very funny case Awful competitor, so he's thrown in eliminations at the start. Because he sucks he loses, because he loses so fast he can't make connections, because he can't make connections the cycle continues. Might need to hang it up. Ayanna is a psycho and it's a shame we lost Janelle because she couldn't handle that? Leroy not being able to deal with her bizarre rant was hilarious though. Washed Tina/Veronica/Rachel trying to do the mean girl schtick AGAIN with no numbers and without being good at challenges is also very amusing.
  21. Check cleared, all good. Darius Terrell gets some egg on his face with his post so the saga was worth it.
  22. I do get it, that he was definitely a selfish player, but he was also a selfish player who was the best player on a 5 seed that won their conference tourney. Wisconsin had one above average 3 point shooter and their strength was post players with limited/no range so you have limited opportunities in that sense. The number that really stands out to me is that he doesn't turn the ball over at all really for a guy with his usage. Obviously you hope he develops more as a passer but he's also got decent size for a wing and it's not an either/or proposition with Hunter, they're completely different positions.
  23. I struggle just looking at his profile deciding how good he is. Probably best or 2nd best player on a very bad team in a decent conference. Being able to have a positive net rating is a good sign but holy shit is this dude inconsistent. He has games of 0/8, 0/6, and 0/2 (in 39 minutes!!!) from the field which are insane disappearing acts for a teams leading scorer then followed it up with 27/26 points against CSU/UNM, 2 tourney teams. Would probably be happy if he's not expected to start and play in that 20-25 minute range. He actually has a teammate from Dallas that looks like a better fit for us. This is a fun highlight for his season though:
  24. It was from Scruggs on 247 yesterday, here's the specific blurb
