  1. If you actually think Spo is getting fired you're in the group of most mentally handicapped posters here
  2. Official, think it's a little lame to do it the night of, just bury it during the 1st round games
  3. He's the brother of the shitty center from Arkansas, and is only slightly better. I wouldn't be stressed facing him.
  4. They literally just finalized the extension in the last month. They could give him a 2nd new contract but I'd imagine it's not something they'd be happy about. I do think that living in reality, May is probably not just going to leave Michigan after one year though.
  5. The Stampede: Looking at notable Texas DL targets Elite ATH Jalen Lott shares latest he's hearing from Texas after staff changes
  6. Shocked the buyout is this low. I'd go after him hard
  7. 8 digit buyout and he doesn't have the skins in March. Don't think he'll be an option.
  8. Still some dipshits here who think RT hasn't had enough time
  9. Word was that Nova wanted him. I probably wouldn't have given him that much (and the facility was already in progress) but that school has been desperate for the success they're having this year
  10. Literally every team loses over 50% of their roster year over year but thanks for checking in on basketball midway through March
  11. I think in a world where everything is equal Texas probably gets in based on resume. If I were the committee I just wouldn't want to send a 14th team from a conference that didn't play anyone OOC and who are propped up by winning 6 out of 18 of their conference games. Feels like a poor precedent.
  12. Even the last basketball hiring cycle here I clearly remember a handful of people kept saying "make Jay Wright say no"
  13. If you're right, then what does it matter/why do you care what Gerry is saying? This feels like a pretty black and white issue that we'll have the answer on in a few weeks. It's not like us posting the pros and cons of paying a buyout/wanting x coach changes anything
  14. Going from one of the best up and coming coaches, having him die to cancer, then hiring Rodney Terry would complete one of the most awful years for a basketball program I've ever seen
  15. There is literally no precedent for firing a coach that has even made the Sweet 16 as far as I've been able to search. I promise you can hold yourself together for a few more days until we're officially dead without crashing out.
  16. He absolutely would, but it'd be a Kevin Keatts situation. It's uncomfortable, but this is why the "ideal" is a Woodson/Hamilton situation where you announce Terry is done after the season but he finishes the year out so you can't have Haith steal the job with a miracle run.
  17. Trashawn Ruffin (from NC) visiting UNC
  18. Nakos immediately followed up to say Tech isn't out of it fwiw
  19. Totally valid, and I'm not saying I wouldn't give him a call or that I wouldn't be fine hiring him in a fully formed process. He's just not going to be my #1 by a long distance where I'm not considering other options. I do think some of the Bulls o/u has some noise to it where they just don't tank where rational teams tank in order to try and be the #10 team in the conference.
  20. Look at Louisville which was quite literally the rock bottom of all p6 programs the last couple years. I'd be pissed if we weren't good immediately under a new coach. I don't really get the fascination with Donovan. It's been 10 years since he's been in the college game and, while not totally his fault, he's been with the most lifeless, directionless team in the NBA for 5 years and hasn't really had a year you'd say he's overperformed over expectation ever? At least Snyder has shown more ability to win and improve teams more recently but neither guy is inspiring and neither is leaving an NBA job so Snyder is almost definitely out of the picture and Donovan feels like a 50/50 at worst to stay in Chicago. It also feels like we'd be buying Donovan at the lowest his stock has been. I also place way less emphasis on recruiting given teams focusing way less on high school recruiting and have been on record wanting a competent offensive minded coach since before Beard which we haven't seen in Austin in at least the last 15 years. That kind of leads to Wade who fits the mold of great recruiter, mediocre at best coach that we've had. Very cool that he's outtalenting teams in the Southland, that's not the a performance that should lead to being hired at Texas.
  21. The Stampede: Top recruiting priorities for new Texas assistants
  22. I've applied for jobs with them before and I still have no idea what they do
