  1. https://247sports.com/college/texas/article/derion-gullette-texas-longhorns-football-recruiting-marlin-teague-portal-transfer-ncaa-enters-steve-sarkisian-jeff-choate-johnny-nansen-230477946/ Link to their article. Weird Scruggs didn't tweet it out.
  2. Good news guys you don't have to defend him anymore
  3. Jason Kidd, Jim Jackson, Toni Braxton or Tony Parker, Brent Barry, and Barry's wife might be examples people here might be more familiar with
  4. Stampede: 10 of the most notable visitors expected for the Orange-White Game (aka the most filler type article you could write)
  5. I've been curious about that. I figured that normally you'd have most dudes waiting to see how the spring game goes or using the spring game as an opportunity to show out before entering the portal but I guess since ours is on the late it's not as much an option when things move so fast and spots can fill up.
  6. Eh, I frankly am much less concerned with the athleticism as much as rim protection. There's not many college centers that can take advantage of that and you can get away with both issues for the most part with athletic wings which we'll have more of and less 6' nothing guards. Good place to add that Florida has a 7'6 dude coming in though.
  7. What the fuck do you want us to do about that now. Basically nobody thinks RT is a championship winning coach but I would rather be excited for good players coming in than poopooing them in their commit threads. Whether you like it or not he's here for almost definitely at least 2 more years so take it to the Fire RT thread. We don't need to deal with the tired schtick.
  8. That's the idea behind getting the 3rd of the ISU trio. Think we need 2 more bigs still (I'm assuming Mitchell is gone), a starter and someone who's able to be more of depth, Garrison and Wolf are the others we've been connected to besides Avila.
  9. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/julian-larry-1.html 2 down 1 to go. 1 more year of eligibility as well
  10. This is where I start to get a little worried about the RT roster building project though he'd be the best of the transfers we've had so far, lotta ball dominant types only one ball This was from Eric Henry at 247 who frankly is almost always useless but reading between the lines Doesn't seem like Hunter and Mitchell are expected back
  11. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tramon-mark-1.html Out of nowhere it feels like! 1 year left
  12. I view him as more than depth, absolutely at least a rotation player type at 20-25mpg with a chance to be a starter depending on who else we shake out of the portal
  13. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jayson-kent-1.html 1 year of eligibility
  14. I've compared him to both Johnson and Tyson but I was purely responding to the Chris Beard aspect which fit Tyson more Very concerned, either Scott was misled on what his role would be in which case RT is a bad recruiter/communicator or RT decided recently that Scott wasn't good enough to be on the court his freshman year in which case RT made a bad talent evaluation and wasted resources recruiting him at all and taking his commitment. Either way some of us are pointing out that we're clearly mistreating these top 30-75 ranked recruits in some way and should not be recruiting them going forward since they'll expect playing time which we apparently refuse to give them so we should only be recruiting 1 and done types and projects actually willing to ride the pine going forward.
  15. Jaylon Tyson was literally a clone of Scott's circumstances, high 4* who got next to no minutes with us, leaves and immediately blossoms into a guy who's a likely 1st round pick this year. Was he as good as he is now as a freshman? No. Was he worth getting minutes as a freshman and playing a role and being able to contribute to winning basketball. Probably.
  16. I see it as high 4*+ guys expecting to come in and play as freshmen, then don't and leave (Johnson), or see that RT is recruiting over them with transfers and aren't interested in playing that game with RT which is totally understandable. High school recruiting strategy/roster management feels like it's some serious ass right now. RT has to be honest with himself and the recruits about their role, actually play and try to develop them, or stop trying to recruit this type of player though.
