Well Black Pumas were great. Though Eric Burton's voice was a little tired and after like what 7 nights in a row between Houston and Austin? So he didn't hit some of those super high notes, but still they were great to see. My only disappointment was their encore as I felt like they should have done something more banging, or just close with "Colors." But a really good show as usual, where they really make the audience be a part of the performance. It was also a lot better from a comfort level than the 100 degree outdoor show when I first saw them at Mohawk a few years ago. Burton jumped down into the crowd multiple times. Took time out to take a selfie with the guy in a wheelchair in front of us, and just generally loved the audience as much as they loved him. As usual Adrian was happy ripping along in the background for the most part. The opening act Danielle Ponder was really, really good. Different than my normal musical fare, but she was also super engaging with the audience, and she had a big damn voice. I could totally hear her for example singing the theme song for the next Bond film. In fact I told "the guy she spoke about meeting on a plane" that if I were her manager I would send a tape every day to Barbara Broccoli in hopes of making that a reality. Besides the fantastic voice she had a story to tell. Most interesting is that up until two years ago she was a public defender in NY and decided two years ago to make the leap to music and quit her job. Great fucking decision. Anyhow if you see her on a billing take the time to see her, she was the perfect opening act for the Black Pumas. God I love live music...

The correct answer is how many pieces has the pizza been cut into? Whatever that number is, is the correct answer!

I've got one floor ticket to the Black Pumas tonight. Had a last second bail out. If you are interested in going you would have to meet me downtown as the tickets are will call.

What will be interesting is the hear Twitter AI Gronk argue with non-twit filled AI engines. Gronk - assumes all glass is bulletproof for example That really smart people always say really stupid shit. Assumption #1 being that people on twitter are smart. Gronk is gonna be one confused fucking AI engine...

Right now I have to think we are probably the one team that nobody would choose to face first. Our offense was on fire today and the defense was incredibly stingy. And the score as lopsided as it was, truly did not reflect how lopsided this game was. We did not even play close to a perfect game, yet totally destroyed a team that I think FSU would have struggled with for example. We are peaking at the right time, and all we need is that next opportunity. Basically all I want for Christmas is two more games!- 6759 replies

My son wants to be a boss, what degree should he look into?

There is only one gig that guarantees you will be a sit around and do nothing millionaire! How he becomes the Aggie's head coach is the question... -
Why is it, that in my mind I see everyone in the pic, extend their little finger and begin to rotate their thumbs in a circular motion?

Wish I took pics of our turkey it was a beast to behold. But here is a great Turkey Pot Pie the wife whipped up with homemade crust. The brittle is Pistachio Brittle which is not particularly cost effective at $19 a lb for raw pistachios, but it's different and it's delicious. Finally some lamb rack I got for $7.00 a lb at Sprouts! that I saw when picking up the pistachios at Sprouts. It was a sell or cook in a couple days deal, but $7 a pound, vs $18.99... I should have bought more. Bon Appetite

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
horn4life replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
I personally hope like hell Quinn comes back, as it would be best for his long term career. I would love to see him adding a little weight (muscle) to his frame. He needed to lose weight for quickness and endurance last off season, and I think another season at UT would help his long term prospects. That being said, the kids got a great arm and would be a great backup in the NFL. But if he wants a fast track to actually being a starter? Another year in burnt orange is a no brainer to me. NIL helps a lot in all likelihood, in allowing some flexibility on this decision. I think add 10 pounds of muscle, stay healthy, and play to his potential, and I don't see how he's not on the Heisman short list? What experience brings is consistency, and while Quinn has gone through 3 spring trainings (1 at OSU) and is finishing off his second year as a starter consistency is pretty much the only criticism. I do think that NIL brings out more boobirds, which were already there to begin with. But in both the Alabama and Tech game we saw what the top end of Ewers potential is. And lucky for us it's really fucking high. I must admit, I had hoped for more consistent consistency. I also realize injury has hobbled him. But I am also concerned he may have played dinged and gotten himself into worse trouble? That's what I thought at the time. But I can't crap on a kid wanting to finish out a game, it's what all competitors want to do. My dream is that Quinn is healthy, plays another lights out game this weekend crushing Okie State, and we actually get a shot at playing two more games (prayers, fingers crossed, deals with the devil entertained). The only way that happens is if Quinn puts on a show!!! I know he can do it, and if we can keep our defense fresh I think we can get some style points in the Championship game (prayers, fingers crossed, deals with the devil entertained). If my prayers are answered it will be Ewers largely writing the sermon. You have to think last week's game has given Ewers additional confidence, and likely made the whole team even more confident. IMHO Ewers having a fantastic game is probably the most important style point, we can have beyond a lopsided score to get into the big dance. Everything seems to be coming together at the right time as far as opportunity. Now it's just time to go out there and fucking take it! Hook'em The only downside to my dream scenario is we likely lose Quinn. But that is a price I am willing to pay. ((prayers, fingers crossed, deals with the devil entertained) -
Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

Elko is a good hire for the Ags. Simply because most of the folks they truly coveted were not going to come to Aggieland. A&M hired, Duke's head coach. Let that fucking soak in for a minute! You drop a $78 million dollar bag, and Duke's head coach is what you get? Good Luck Aggies. The guy has lived in A&M so he is aware what a social wasteland CS is. So that is certainly a positive. Elko also also fits the profile for A&M, especially when silhouetted against the harvest moon. In a way it's a historical bookend. How can anyone forget the Chick-fil-A Bowl where A&M led by Johnny Manziel beat Duke 52-48 on New Year's Eve in 2013? So the Duke hire is sort of a bookend, now in 2023 a decade later, and $100 million in buyouts gone... These Aggie Jokes write themselves don't they? -
Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
horn4life replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
FINALLY!!!! Finally we got to see the sort of complete performance where we got to enjoy a game from beginning to end, without a concern that we have squandered a lead and could very well shit the bed. My wife was laughing at my behavior yesterday as I was practically giddy, being able to enjoy a game without the stress of impending doom. Quinn lived up to the hype, for the first time since the Bama game IMHO. There is so much talent on this team that blowouts like this one should have been MUCH MORE the norm, than the exception. That being said this was a 5-7 team two years ago, and getting guys like Quinn on the roster helped bring in other great players. So big tip of the hat to Ewers on finally showing us what Texas should do to opponents that are overmatched at nearly every position on the field. I will also say that if Texas had been able to finish games like this one, instead of giving back huge leads to tighten up the score... there would be no debate at all regarding Texas being in the CFP. That's why the killer instinct, is so important. It's always, :just win baby!" But in a subjective evaluation, like the CFP style point matter. But fuck, whatever, it was just fun as hell to not be worried in the second half about a collapse. And it's a shame we spent most of the season fidgeting uncomfortably in the second half of so many games this season that should have been blowouts. But 11-1 is amazing. I personally think our win over Bama was the biggest win in all of college football this season. But that was also a long time ago. Quinn's performance versus Tech was awesome. But think of how much experience we could have gotten for our backups had this level of performance been consistent all season on the offensive side of the ball? Great, great game! Keep it rolling Quinn! -
While we lost, I think it was great experience for the team. We clearly had matchup problems, but beyond that U Conn simply is currently a better team than we are. This is not to say we might not be capable of beating them at full strength, but the rain of 3 pointers after eating the entirety of the clock was something you simply have to tip your hat to. There is a reason for our ranking gap. But you have to love the fight in this team. Overmatched we actually brought the game back within reach a few times. Our scrappy defense helped create the extra opportunities needed to begin to close the gap. I think the main thing we need to do is look inside a bit more often earlier. There were open times under the basket where we could have gotten good inside shots with Onyema but without a quick early pass the disappeared nearly instantly. The thing about these passes is it forces the defense to collapse inward, are high percentage, and tend to draw fouls. Something we need to look for even when our biggest men are not in the game. IF the bag man hustles to get in place, thorow them some bones. It's good B-Ball. Dillon Mitchell is gonna have a great year. The extra muscle looks great on him. Hook'em!

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
horn4life replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Hell, I guess if you want to believe... who am I to shatter your fantasies... Bottom line for the is Quinn is a very good QB. I also think it's silly to think Maalik Murphy isn't remotely close with two games as a starter under his belt coming in at midseason without a year of prep as the starter. I think it's very hard to completely dismiss Murphy as many, many have done off two starting performances where the kid actually was brilliant for a half and sucky for a half. Basically I think we have a pretty damn good QB room. With the amazing surrounding cast the Texas QB has on this current roster, the fact our starting QB is not shredding the opposition brutally with a degree of consistency is consternating. I also think that because Quinn is not completely healthy it has changed the play calling as well to some degree. Hope Quinn is finally fully healthy and can put together a game this week that blows me away, and blows away the pollsters! Our ability to dominate and then let the opposition back into the game is a very, very, very bad habit (especially when trying to get into the playoffs). QB play seems to be a key function of this frustrating inconsistency. -
Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
horn4life replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
My opinion, though basically worthless is this. 1) Quinn came back a little too soon. He's not all the way healthy and his under throws have been both scary and ground gaining on interference calls. 2) IMHO he came back early because he wants to go pro, and playing dinged up is better than not playing, for a number of reasons. Now maybe it a burning desire to play? Or he thought he was healthier than he was? He played hurt when he should have come out to begin with so thre is certainly an argument for that. Maybe he's just an uber competitor and can't stand not being on the field, again played injured, so argument for that. But in my mind he refocused this season because he thought the could make the leap next year. And sitting on the bench, is not going to get him to that goal. But a win, is a win, is a win. But fuck, can't we ever just put up points and put the hammer down on offense? On a positive note, the uncertainty of our games is helping keep the Jack Daniels Distillery chugging along! -

Hoping to give this a bounce and get the thoughts of others with more experience. So this may be insane, and if so tell me the reasons! (I did come up with this idea last night after a few adult beverages) Long story short is we have a big trip planned at the beginning of Summer, and that's gonna cut into the wife's vacay to the point I am thinking of doing a travel trailer tour on my own, with possibly my daughter working my way up to Yellowstone over a week. Then having the wife fly into Bozeman or Jackson hole. So she can enjoy the park for a week, not burning dwindling vacation driving with me in the travel trailer. Thinking of that second to last weekend in August to actually be in Yellowstone area. I am totally flexible, beyond needing a space for the trailer. I about to reserve a spot at Fishing Bridge RV park, which actually has full hookups, for like $100 a night during the time I am thinking, just as a safety to have make sure I have a slot if this pans out. The ability to drop the trailer and have a home base with all our amenities is appealing. The long haul for me? Not as much, but I could so some stuff up and back that the wife would not be as interested in. So thoughts here would be good as well. So how should I do this? Should I just drop the trailer and use the Fishing Bridge RV park as a week long home base? Or am I better off perhaps staying there a day or two and stay near (but outside the park) to be nearer to other parts of the park? We mainly just want to hike and take in nature. Will likely do most stuff on our own as we will be up and rolling like fisherman to be where we need to be to be at the front end of the crowds. Going right as school starts is part of this thought process. I have a National park pass so I can go in and out from outside the park as easy as staying in the park depending on what we are doing on any given day. So what are your thoughts? Assuming I am crazy enough to make that drive solo. I am totally flexible and wondering what I have to do inside the park, and spots of interest on the way there and back to make my travel not monotonous.

IMHO Campbell would have bee the best hire they could have gotten. A legacy that was moving from the NFL to his old team. That wold be a big enough splash to get kids to at least listen to the guy. The fact he left at 7-2 would have been a coup! I think he might have won and recruited well using a I know what it takes to play in the NFL, I was head coach there last year. I took this job to win by developing players just like you." could have been a strong recruiting pitch. Enough to dispel the bleakness of each year living in College Station? We will never know. So onto head coach options 4,5 and 6 by the end of the weekend. I just honestly cannot wait to see how the contract is structured. A good case study in, "Can an Aggie Learn?"

I'll be honest. Everyone is a badass who has size/muscular advantage. So the same guy making a swaggering challenge, will sit back in their seat when they don't feel they have advantage. Sort of like insisting on a little step behind a podium, because in that instance you did not have bravado, you were pleading for accommodation, because you were shorter than your opponent. And then that "bravado" Markwayne sells would seem silly next to the considerably taller man, in his debate. But when you party is the party of white trash clicks... Markwayne is a hero! And in case you didn't know this, Markwayne is even tougher on the internet! True story!
