  1. TEXAS! With a booming, knowing and authoritative voice!
  2. Texas 41 - K-State 27 281 punt yards(one blocked)
  3. I guess... on the bright side... It will likely take me a decade of Sark's bad calls, to get me half way to my hatred of Greg Davis's play calling!
  4. Reminds me of these lines in"a Time to Kill." The GOP today is so screwed up because of one primary reason, the ability to completely toss out intellectual honesty! Trump was the greatest thing to ever happen for the racists in our country.
  5. Hell the bathrooms were unbelievable! They remind me of the BIP bathrooms at ACL where you could actually feel cold air for a few minutes to cool down. We got three long weekends in. Or more accurately my wife got two, and I got three! Love leaving the Travel Trailer at IB MaGee for the month where only tides and weather determine if we are in Port A or Austin. We got down on the 5th, and managed 3 straight days of early La Playa. It was funny because the hostess told the other waiting patrons hoping to get in for the first seating that they needed to be more like us, as it was our 3rd day in a row. Unfortunately I missed out on Flounder the first weekend at the Jetty as my buddy caught three a couple yards to my right, and the guy a couple yards to the left caught 4, and me... a big zero. But the next weekend caught two nice slot reds one day, and put buddy's kid onto another hanging on the beach with us. This last weekend I was solo. We raced out prior to the bad weather the week before and I was regretting not just taking an hour or so and getting the trailer ready to pull home. Which left me seeing today's cold front looming and supposedly sketchy weather this last weekend. Instead met my BIL on Thursday afternoon and we ate at Virginia's and then drifted over to see Selfie at Shorty's. We got a good laugh at their "Legalize it" song, and their "Vamanos a La Playa, Let's go to the Beach" as well. Fishing was sketchy in the surf even when the water looked promising, so I tried something new and hit up the Jetty nubs sticking out from the beach down at the old fish pass. It's dangerous fishing because of the big drops and uneven footing, but the risk was worth the reward. In about an hour I picked up a single trout and red slot fish. I was supposed to go home Sunday morning, but the last warm day in Port A, lured me to fish the AM before heading home. I woke up at 5:45 and got a pint of large shrimp at Deep Sea Headquarters. Apparently the right side of the Jetty is preferable, and that left me with the much more precarious left side at the end. After an early slow start I ended up with a limit of redfish ranging from 24-27-1/2 inches. Besides having to change a tire on the trailer (new ones dammit) I got home about 8:45 that night. But it was worth it to catch the limit and enjoy what might be my last Port A fishing day this Year. My first limit in a while-
  6. Well Pot A weather did not cooperate as much for me this year with the early and late cold fronts, But I did have a good day Sunday morning at the Fish Pass Jetty in Mustang Island State part. I have usually fished the surf in the higher numbers but had never fished the little jettys of the closed in Fish Pass. Dangerous as all hell were I found my perch, and nearly impossible to land a red without help. As where I was standing the drop to the water was about 10 feet. But it was worth it, caught a nice limit of Reds which I haven''t done for years. Thanks to the folks around me who helped me land the fish. Anyhow these 24, 26, 27 inch slots, made my trip!
  7. Times like there are why I was so disappointed in our Wyoming game where we should have run up the first half score to get Maalik some live game snaps. I think the kid has shown he has talent, and the real question now is how will he handle the pressure? Both emotionally and from the defense. I also wonder if we hamstring him by conservative and predictable play calling. I understand some conservatism, but this offense doesn't work if you make too many conservative calls. I am rooting like crazy for the kid, because I am always rooting for any kid that comes in under a microscope of pressure. These are the opportunities that every backup dreams of, so it's up to Maalik to take advantage and plant his own flag. Hell I hope the kid does so well it makes getting Ewers healthy much less of an issue. Hope he can take advantage of the opportunity in front of him and become "a Longhorn Legend!"
  8. The problem is you have American elected government officials that do not care at all what the truth is. they have repeated lies over, and over, and over until now the GOP as a whole is the most misinformed group of voters probably since Hitler was elected. So truth has taken a big fall from grace, because American politicians have proven that a lie is as good as the truth when sold repeatedly by people in power. Hamas is in power. So they say whatever, and this is reinforced again and again. Just like here in the United States. Sadly it was less than a decade ago when the truth really did matter in the US. Now we are a lot more like the Middle East where you CHOOSE "your truth."
  9. 41 texas 20 Houston 271 passing ... 351 if we get Malik in because we performed like Texas used to
  10. I would say, what we all know. This is a Republican party made up of 10 year olds! Except that would be an insult to 10 year olds...
  11. What I want to see is in a game where were are heavily favored to actually get WAY ahead in the first half!!!! Because I want (like I do every year) want our second string QB to get meaningful playing time! Instead we have... well we turned it on in the 4th quarter... I am hoping for a game where we play to our level, not down to their level keeping it agonizingly close. This is a game where we ought to kick ass early and often, so I am hoping to see our second string QB after the first series of the second half.
  12. 1) we spend more per capita than any other industrialized country 2) We have more uninsured than any industrialized country. 3) Republicans believe that there is actually some sort of tax cut solution involving millionaires that will create better health outcomes! 4) Republicans actually have a fantastic healthcare plan they are going to let us know about very soon! It should be wonderful as it has been in development for roughly Half a Century.
  13. I was ALWAYS worried about Oklahoma, I am every year, because it's a rivalry game. We gave away 14 point on interceptions, and failed to make a goal line conversion that costs us another 7. But if you want to put money down on Steve losing 2 more regular season games? Refer to GIF.
  14. So the Aggies really haven't shit the bed? Instead they profusely farted the bed... with the same outcome as shitting the bed?
  15. What you need to understand that this is now the GOP model to run the country. A model where the minority can rule the majority. The GOP hasn't won the popular vote for a first time President since George Herbert Walker Bush, and they don't honestly think they can win the popular vote anymore nationally. So the only route to power is the ability to say NO to everything. This is how they have screwed up both the House and the Senate. The Dems are not much better, but I for example don't think the Dems would have blocked a Supreme Court Nominee for a year. Dems still put the country first, when push comes to shove. The GOP? Look at who the fuck they have elected? The dumb fucks can't even choose a leader, instead it's just say NO! Like little fucking children, refusing to eat vegetables and holding their breath turning red in anger. But the solution for the GOP is the same for the vegetable refusing child, force them to eat their vegetables. It would be easy honestly, just pick a trustworthy moderate Republican and get the support of the Dems in the name of the country. But... better to burn down the house than eat vegetables is their childish logic. There is a reason the GOP does nothing but create massive deficits at the federal level, they are a party of petty and very small ideas. Better to scream, yell, stomp our feet and hold your breath! What a bunch childish of assholes!
  16. Usually I just do stuff on Saturday that I have put off because of the football season, and Port A fishing. But it's always more about dislikes primarily, but I will occasionally root for a tea mI don't particularly like, but they are such big underdogs, I can tacitly root for. them. Army vs. Navy (for Grandad) Alabama vs. Auburn (for our power ranking) Michigan vs. Ohio State (liked their helmets as a kid, and Ohio Staters are shit knuckle dragging fans) USC vs. Notre Dame (for the alter boys) Florida vs. Georgia. (Dad swam for them) Miami vs. Florida State (even though my folks met at FSU, a loss here helps my boys) Cal vs. Stanford (smarter players) Oregon vs. Washington. (honestly don't give a fuck) Arkansas vs. Texas A&M (gotta choose the toothless that have actually won something other than an internet poll) Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss (the slightly classier racists) OK - well that was a fun waste of 3 minutes!
  17. I sort of see her shaving off a beard of hair every morning off her cloven hooves...
  18. Yeah he just took an extra long stride changing directions, with the leg on his eye side. Having seen enough dirty soccer play over the years, that was purposeful.
  19. I just wish that there were enough smart Republicans in the house, that they could elect a smart Republican Speaker... Can't wait to see the actual House vote.
  20. Well then FUCK YOU! NOW... you feel at home....
  21. I knew you were listening! 😉 best off menu item on the island imho. Rolling down manana. And while Saturday will be windy, great to go down and get set up for the month. I'm thinking the warm water may push the good fishing back into October because of water temp. If you guys are gonna watch the game somewhere I am likely in! with a little wife convincing, or me solo. I'm gonna try to put on my UT sneakers with ATX - HRN on the back of them. Weather won't be "beach weather" but Sunday evening and Monday look promising. And next weekend you could be standing at The Pig Party AND watching the eclipse (clouds permitting!) I still think that it would be greatness to get La Playa to let some Horns rent the parking lot and have a tail gate... across from the Blue Water Cowboy... maybe next year...
  22. IS there anything that the GOP house can do besides fuck up the markets with thier endless childessness?
  23. Of course weather is going to get cool right at I head down this week. I need to go get the trailer set up at IB MaGee for the month, and while weather won't be perfect everything will be ready for the bounce back. I watched most of the OU game last year at Stingray's but their food is blah. Does Shorty's have more TV's now at the new location? I was thinking maybe grab Kody's for lunch, and then drift somewhere else. I would say Gumbles, by I am still in my refusal to sell out to the man and trying not to step foot in there protest mode.
  24. What does he think he can't learn on his own? IF he actually wants to be "a boss" he needs to simply convince you and your wife to invest in his business venture, double the amount you would have spend on College. His entrepreneurial bent, is the primary and in a way, sort of the main part of being a boss. Challenge him! Ask him what he thinks he will gain working for others that would be more advantageous than 4 years of working building his own business? I would also challenge you to seriously think of bankrolling him to at least some degree, if a legitimate opportunity presents itself where he could indeed be the boss? Not to shit on an education nor the experience that work can give you. Most folks that become "Bosses" in some manner learn to profit for themselves, in the same business they were in prior to going on their own. Now it may very well be that going to and having the college experience is important to both him and you all. I also the know the idea of him not going to college is an odd and likely unacceptable thought to you and your wife. And nothing wrong with that. I guess the question I would first ask him is. "Do you want to be a boss? Or the Boss?" The answer is important. Oil Trading... not sure at all how that leads to being more than a boss, and likely never the boss. He's got the inclination, and unless he is in love with some particular field, just get a business degree. But again, I knew a Stanford MBA that bought the company I worked at, and that guy had no fucking idea what he was doing. Sales drive everything, and if you can sell you can do anything. So get a degree and learn to sell. Or manage a business as well or better than the competition. All are paths to being the boss, rather than a boss.
