You can get it real thin by using the backs of your wrists to lift and spin the dough slightly. The singing Mama Mia, Papa Pia may or may not have something to do with it. 😉 Basically I would use the weight of the dough on the edges to slowly do most of the stretching. I used the back of my wrists to slowly spin and later to toss just because I didn't tear the dough as much using the rounder larger than fingers back side of my wrists. I also found that the thinner the crust the more important it was that I brushed the dough with some oil to seal it before putting on the sauce and ingredients. We also would often pre-cook mushrooms for example to get rid of some of the liquid. I would often cook sausage links on the grill and poke a few holes in the casings at the end to remove some of the moisture there as well. Removing some of the juice/grease with the holes helped keep the pizza from getting runny, and after it was refrigerated you could cut thinking and consistently to get the thickness we desired. We were cooking mostly on a stone in our smaller top oven on our range. Usually at 450 degrees after a good long preheat. Not as good as some of the new blistering hot pizza ovens, but worked fine. Our cheat was to brush the crust edges with an egg wash to make it more similar to a hotter oven finish. While we always used corn meal to keep the dough from sticking the last homemade pizza I did last fall I used a new "cheat" instead of using corn starch. I realized that parchment paper had a flash point of 450 degrees. So we dropped the temp to 445 degrees and I put the pie together on a sheet of parchment paper on my pizza spatula. After it was put together I trimmed the edges of the parchment paper to the edge of the pizza crust and in she went. Again this is NOT in a super hot 800 degree oven, but a 445 degree oven. Pizza came out great and was super easy in and out of the oven with less mess to clean up from using the parchment paper as the base. I wish I had realized the parchment paper trick years ago, when a lot of our Friday nights were pizza with the kids.

From my years of experience from when my kids were young the most important part of pizza making is learning to toss the dough in the air while singing, "Mama mia, Papa pia, na, nana, nana na..."

All we really need to do is get funding for a shit ton of billboards simply saying: "Please vote Young People! Save Us from Rural Racist Republican Rule!" Young new voters are the only chance we have. The districts are so gerrymandered that nearly every slice of a city is diluted to where the rural (usually racist) vote can usurp the votes of the city dwellers. All the while Abbott and company praise the growth of the very areas they do not want self determination for. The reason that young people are the only way forward is fairly simple. There is no longer any accountability at all from Republicans regarding elected politicians. And because there is no accountability to can elect and re-elect an Attorney General under felony indictment avoiding his day in court for years upon years. So young people are the only hope.
-
Here's the deal to me. Do some of these kids not watch their fucking film? Especially when it comes to playing time. Do they have the drive and quite frankly anger it takes to outwork and usurp a talented starter to get your minutes. Hunter got more and more minutes as he improved over the course of the season, but he could have gotten more minutes a lot earlier with a higher level of play. Look at Marcus Carr this year vs the year before. He simply did not live up to the billing year one, but he worked hard and became the player that everyone expected him to be. Mitchell simply could not consistently play at a high enough level to push other more experienced players out of the way. And why was that? Usually... it's less than stellar defense, and an unwillingness to work hard to further develop your talent. Defense is the one really unselfish part of basketball. You need EVERYONE to play good defense. If you don't play good defense you are letting everyone else on the court down, as you are the weakest link. Basketball is the one sport where a reasonably talented player can cash a pretty decent paycheck if they have talent (even if their defense is weak) as there are so many international leagues out there you can make some pretty good coin for a couple years. I think because of the team size, the portal and NIL it will become more and more rare to actually build teams over time. It's gonna be attrition and replacement over, and over, and over. And in a way, that may actually not be a good for Terry as some coaches. As I truly believe he values his relationships and building them. And that may be hard to do with the disrupter that is the portal (combined with NIL). I will also say that with Terry's desire for defense nearly any talented player could benefit from improving their defense, and in turn their NBA prospects. Because of these uncertainties, that is why I say we will find out soon if Terry can recruit. I know he has recruited well in the past, but the portal and the NIL have changed the game dramatically. But like I said we are going to get a report card very soon, as players are now able to start signing on the dotted line up until May 17th. Hopefully we can get a signing to build some momentum shortly. We are in the mix for some good names, now we just need to close one or two to start defining the team for the remaining players out there. And we need more NIL money, (ask Miami).

Basically I am saying that as the Head Coach at UT we will find out how well he can use his new position as a recruiter. History is exactly that, history. Right now he has a lot of kids that left, many sort of expected. So we will see. Terry was always a hire that was a damned if you do and damned if you don't. For me there are simply not enough data points to make an educated guess one way or the other. But we will know soon as the portal will determine all. Terry could flop. But he earned the job and there simply was not a coach with a big enough splash to wash out the negatives of not giving Terry a chance. Doesn't mean the Basketball office would not like some good press rather than just exiting player articles.
-
So worst case scenario is 3-4 years of Shaka... 🤪 With all the moving parts in the Portal you can't tell what's what until the dust settles. Like I said a while back, we are gonna find out pretty fast if Terry can recruit or not. And right now some folks are feeling like their date to the prom just told you that they are going with somebody else and you are scrambling to find a date... any date! Right now things a looking a lot more tenuous than they were. And anxiety is rising. Let's hope and pray that Terry can indeed fill the slots in the portal. I know that Terry and everyone in the BBall office is hoping to hear something, anything positive.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2024: Bags Don't Beat Bankrolls

On the one hand I thought Morris would get the minutes he wanted because the pathway was there. But the DV charge apparently is not going away, so you have to factor that into things from the coach perspective. I think that Terry wants to build a team that is a family, and having part of the family facing a DV charge isn't the best advertisement for your "family values" that I think makes Terry attractive to recruits. Now you can always sell "second chance" love in justifying keeping a kid like Morris who I also believed had significant upside. But if that same kid who may embarrass the team, also has an attitude problem about not being able to push out Carr and Hunter for more minutes? That's a head case for me as a coach. Now I do not know this to be true, but I also don't think it's too big a stretch to think that Terry may not be crying over the loss as we might expect. I would expect that Beard would go after Morris, if for not other reason that to try and show he can take a Texas kid away. It's what I would do if I were Beard if just for the news cycle publicity. I honestly never want to lose a kid, and I am praying Hunter comes back because the second half of the season he finally started getting his Freshman year mojo back. Terry may know more about the NBA feedback and projections than any of us. I would expect UT to have a fairly good evaluation of this for any of our players that are potential NBA level prospects. So Terry may already have Hunter penciled in as returning. I am praying again and again for Disu to return and put on the pounds that I think will give him a prosperous and longer NBA career. I also can't cay that I am not a little nervous right now about our recruiting because there are so many moving parts. The good news is we are all going to get a pretty good idea of Terry's recruiting prowess or the lack thereof shortly. So hopefully we will all be backslapping exclaiming our praise, but you can't help but be a little nervous until all the ink dries.

Hey anybody replaced any decals? I have one shitty one on of course the front of my trailer. I scrapped most of it off last year and there is a little bit of decal at the top where it was hard to reach, and mostly just adhesive residue. I was thinking of buying one of the 3M discs to remove the residue as I worried about potential staining or gelcoat damage if I used goof off or something similar. I have the replacement decal, (which will likely suck as well) but just need to get down to a smooth clean surface before I put the new one on. Suggestions?

Why is Republican Heterosexuality so easily changed and influenced?
horn4life replied to horn4life's topic in Cloak Room
Perhaps I should have said that it is factually accurate that throughout all of history there has been homosexuality. Even when they masses could not read or be exposed to drag shows... I was using the "God Made" as a reference to the supposed beliefs of those that are afraid books will change their sexuality. I assume they self identify as "Christians." -
On the Nazi memorabilia. When I was young both my grandfathers served in WWII. Nazi stuff was like trophies of US victory. My Dad had a Luger, a Nazi youth knife, and some sort of officers larger knife. My Dad also up until the last few years was what a lot of folks would call a gun freak as I bet he has bought and sold several hundred guns over the course of his life. We used to regularly go to gun shows when I was a kid, and he went most of his life. But about 30 years ago he got rid of his Nazi stuff. The simple reason he gave was that the people who wanted the Nazi stuff now did not want the stuff as trophies, but as something else, admiration and sympathy for the Nazi cause and philosophy. Today you have Republicans saying "The Jew Prosecutor" over and over, when they say "Soros Backed Prosecutor." It's no surprise at all to me that one of the biggest republican donors has Nazi memoribilia... is that really any more of a surprise than Clarence Thomas proving he has no ethics? Crow pays bid buck to buys and collects things. Apparently he has a Supreme Court Justice in his collection as well.
-
it's all relative now. Compared to the rest of the GOP court? I think he does actually contemplate. I agree on the voting rights, but as bad as he is, he now seems more reasonable... because the rest are right wing political hittters.
-
Roberts is the only Republican on the court right now that I believe has a high level of ethics and an overriding respect for the rule of law. Instead you have folks like Thomas that don't ask a single curious question for years while accepting levels of largesse that ANY reasonable person would be see only as a negative stain on the reputation of the court. What we have learned is that if Republicans are given power they will exercise it to the furthest extreme. Extremes that fit within a parameter where lies don't matter, corruption doesn't matter, votes don't matter only power matters. Thomas has the power now, and he has never given a fuck about anything but himself. The court is just a way to get free trips, and put the rubber stamp of a non-curious jurist voting exactly as planned without contemplation. A shill if you will. What the Supreme court shows us today, is that if you want to corrupt the court, you can corrupt the court. Now you have to use corrupt means, you must disregard fairness and principle to achieve this goal, and that was what Republicans did. When a minority abuses their power to place three minority view judges to the highest court in the land with the fewest votes to affirm ever you damage the credibility of the court. Republicans currently are morally corrupt. It's no surprise Republican judges suffer from the same affliction.

Why is Republican Heterosexuality so easily changed and influenced?
horn4life replied to horn4life's topic in Cloak Room
DeSantis being married at Disney because, it wasn't "gay" then but is "gay" now is always good for a chuckle. I have always thought getting married in Disney World is absolutely moronic. I think it's more nerd than gay, because hell only a nerd homosexual would want to get married there. But I also was not a nerd, so there may indeed be a closer link to the potential of having a book change your sexuality if you are a nerd. So maybe DeSantis truly does have some sort of "fear" that is based on his nerd reality? -

So (channeling my GOP brain here) that TV can make people gay! You see Will And Grace has such an influence showing gayness that so many people became gay that now it is even OK to have gay people in tv ads! Cause and effect! Or the other options are just bigotry, stupidity and irrationality? I think the real reason... distraction, for political reasons. But again as I said my sexuality unlike that of so many Republicans can't be altered by a book, observation, TV show, or much of anything. But I guess I might be fascinated if indeed books could change my sexuality. I would endlessly wonder why? Not in a good or bad way. Just curious as to why a book could change my sexuality? The actual why? -
Just sort of an overall lack of urgency. I mean normally I expect nearly frenetic attacks for the first few pissed off minutes after an opponents goal. I saw maybe 2 minutes or sort of frenetic effort, then back to non-threatening possession. Not too much at all after either of the other two goals. They almost need to make some sort of radical adjustment, but that leaves them open to counters. Still maybe simply attack forcefully from the left or right backs the draw the defense toward the overload. Then try for deeper crosses to where the wing or attacking mid from the other side has a chance to slip in behind the shifting defense. The specific intention of having the field switching cross as the preferred result of the defensive counter is to try to protect the more vulnerable space created by the rapid defenders advance creating the overload. Of course reality might be a bad cross, quick counter, and fuck city. Anytime you try to build attacks out of the back there is risk involved. But for this team right now from the last couple outings we just are not getting many angled runs that can potentially get behind the defense. Right now our possessions simply don't put the other team on their heels very much. Again I will say how beautiful yesterdays goals are, and as I have said many times, sometimes the other guys are pretty damn good and make some great plays. Hope we can find a way to be more threatening than for just a few moments next game.

While the good guys aren't exactly playing the way I would want them to, I absolutely loved from the former player/coach point of view the goals Boanga scored from a technical aspect. It was as if he listened to every bit of coaching I have tried to pass on to front players. First is hit the fucking ball the first chance you get. Because about 90% of the time the extra setup touch means the opportunity is lost. First the quick low shot was lovely, while heartbreaking. His second goal was a great example of how easy it is to score goals if you are smart and simply anticipate. I screamed for years for players to attack the backside of the goal as that's where the easy goals are made. I scored one with my dick in high school off the bounce. How many times does a ball slide through and you can simple pass it back against the grain and make easy scores? And how many of those past balls across the middle just roll out to the sideline wasting an opportunity? Boanga just anticipated what often happens and put himself in the right spot for an easy second goal. His last hope eliminated crack was the low strike on the volley with his chest over the ball to keep it down. Exactly how it's supposed to be done, beautiful yet sickening as I finally changed the channel. I was pissed that we played so poorly and got fucking schooled. But the coach/player part of me was screaming exactly on those goal! Clearly to be a great striker you need to have the ball skills and ability to strike the ball. But the little things like attacking the back side and striking at the first opportunity are simply playing smart. And you can learn, practice and execute that at any level. Now LAFC with Boanga on fire is for sure a tough opponent, but most of our extended possessions were simply games of keep away. There has to be more overlapping runs and faster switching sides more frequently to create for opportunities for us. IMHO. And for heaven's sake possessing along the back line or passing the ball back is all sell and good to create a seam and an opportunity. But hell we were heading the wrong way more often than the right direction it seemed. Sadly we did have some early opportunities, but we were clearly outclassed yesterday. We need to press those possessions much more quickly forward than we did yesterday to get more opportunites, or even the hope of more opportunities. I will say one thing, I can't blame Stuver on any of those fucking goals.

Why is Republican Heterosexuality so easily changed and influenced?

The toenail thing if funny, because I used to swim in high school and my mother and sister conspired to remove and roll back my bed sheet and paint my toe nails while I was asleep. They thought I was going to freak out, and I just shrugged, went to 5:30 am practice. While a couple of the guys were sort of taken aback, the girls loved my being able to roll with it, without insecurity of my sexuality. Reminded me of how fun a coed swim team was back in the day. -
Now let me be clear I am heterosexual. Always have been, assume I always will be. I also think that it is silly to think that everyone is exactly like me. So I accept that God has made humans in all shapes and sizes and sexual preferences. I also know factually that God has created for as long as man has walked the earth some children with both men and women's sex organs, or conversely the lack of full development of either. Now nothing I have said thus far, can be factually attacked without complete and total disregard for honesty and facts. But what I do not understand is why is the heterosexuality of Republicans and their children so fragile? Now maybe my God made me so much more heterosexual in some way I do not understand compared to my Republican male heterosexual counterparts. But intuitively this supposition is probably not accurate (despite a lot of numerical data available to support this supposition). In my instance for example reading a book would not change my heterosexuality. Seeing a heterosexual sex act would not change my sexuality. Recognizing that somebody else is not heterosexual would not change my sexuality. Seeing a woman in man's clothing, nor a man in woman's children would change my sexuality. Having a man make a pass at me (has happened) would not change my sexuality. In fact honestly I can't think at anything that would change my sexuality (**life incarceration could, I believe over time condition a different sexuality, but I believe life incarceration could potentially change anything about anyone. Sexual abuse might also alter ultimate sexuality, or cause enough confusion to alter course is possible as well). Now having coached a shit ton of soccer over more than a decade, I can also tell you that many kids wrestle with their sexuality. I coached more girls later, and some of my most natural athletes later declared they were not heterosexual. I also remember talking to my 1st grade daughter talking about a boy in her class and calling him a "boy girl." Later he would declare himself homosexual. But I don't think in either of these examples a book, discussion, observation was the ultimate determiner of their sexuality. Any more than a book, observation or discussion determined my sexuality. But the one question I do not have an answer to is, Why do Republicans believe that books, discussions and observations could change their own sexuality? Have books, discussions and observations previously changed their base sexuality? Was there some point in their life that they consciously decided they would be heterosexual, rather than homosexual? Did they flirt with being trans before making this decision after seeing Cabaret? Did not seeing Cabaret, The Bird Cage or a drag show for example preserve their heterosexuality? Would seeing a drag show change them to homosexual from heterosexual? I hate to be so vacuous here and ask so many questions, but none of the examples that Republicans fear will make them and their children not heterosexual is something I would every worry about. If my kids were gay, I would probably assume it's genetic for example and love them anyhow. I would also know that it's harder in life to be gay than straight IMHO. But Rather than assume that either the way I raised them, a book, show, discussion or observation had changed their sexuality. Apparently Republicans believe the opposite? That at least for many Republicans sexuality is something that is fluid, flexible and easily influenced. And that is something that I simply do not understand. And my heterosexuality could never be changed by such influences. So help me figure this out....

I would not view the Apple watch as anything but another potential data point. I have the 8 and it does some cool stuff, but as was said previously the chest strap monitors are far and away the most accurate on HR, but that's also another data point. You can run tests on yourself for Afib with the apple watch, and I bought that model just because... WTF maybe it will tell me something I don't know one day. I love my Apple Watch, but hate that it is a pile of junk if not charged every day.
