  1. I guess the good news is... the name is Sark.... Not Jimbo....
  2. I had honestly forgotten that the GOP elected a soon to be convicted child molester in Hastert then last time they ousted a speaker. That has to give Jim Jordan an inside track to the speakership. Right? Assuming that watching kids get molested is nearly as powerful as Hastert's actual molestation in accumulating Republican speaker votes...
  3. Hey Kevin.... thanks for going to Mar A Largo to suck cock for this... and endangering the fucking country you whore! The really, really, really good news. Is that in a few days the millennials feeds will begin to trend about a joke happening int he GOP leadership. They already think that the GOP is a racist and bigoted party, Republican "leadership" clearly has the dumb box checked, and I for one and hoping millennials get their accurate opinions of the GOP reinforced.
  4. There is only one way that I can think of to most certainly reduce the total number of votes cast! followed with a little dash of...
  5. Just flipped to Fox and saw they had "others" rather than have Jim Jordan's name as getting the votes. Basically Fox is all in on getting McCarthy in. But funny to me they don't put up the name of the other person getting votes other than McCarthy. too fucking funny
  6. Welcome to the clown car that is Republican leadership! The problem with the GOP is the only thing they represent is the word no. No Ideas. No Principles. No meaningful legislation. No leaders. No bravery. No Leader. No plan...
  7. my NYE roast $9.99 a lb Ribeye roast from Sprouts. Love that there they cut it and tie if for you, and the all natural was a better grade of meat. 9.5 lbs. Should have made one more cut before taking the pic as the outside top edge looks more well done than the interior slices. Still delicious.
  8. Also in fairness to Republican Economic Trickle Down policies. They probably did work at least to some degree up until probably 1950. But unless you are 90+ years old you have never seen a GOP tax cut that created more revenue than it took off the table. You have never seen a GOP tax cut that created the number of jobs predicted (even remotely). What you have seen is a massive shift to a smaller concentration of wealth into fewer and fewer hands.
  9. First off, there are no longer any "Conservatives" in the GOP. They borrow and spend more than Dems. They don't build nor fund infrastructure. They don't fund the maintenance of existing structure. Apparently you are now a "Conservative" in the GOP... If you can spell the word? I think the main thing millennials see from the GOP is that Republican "freedoms" always seems to come at a price of potentially hurting somebody else's freedom. Look at the GOP's focus on homosexuality and transgender children. Or on impoverished immigrants. The only truth forever about the Republican Party is they always punch down. And never providing legislation with any chance of passing on any important issue. Unless the GOP can get millennials to start watching FOX News propaganda with their grandparents all day long, not much hope for this generation to start shifting to a party that embraces racism and bigotry. When you see flare maps, understand that the GOP gets a lot of money from the Oil and Gas industry and the GOP is a corrupt entity. Thus no need to even glance at flaring, and the assorted light and air pollution. Just cash the checks, and blame renewables when Oil and Gas fails in the snowpocolypse. If there was such a think as a conservative Republican, it might be different. But conservative now is a lot more likely to mean racist, or bigoted than anything to do with fiscal responsibility. And millennials see that.
  10. Just don't any of you dumb fucks start chanting "Big 12... Big 12..." I sort of like TCU at +13.5. and sure as shit am not rooting for Georgia's brain trust of fans.
  11. Has a Texas QB ever been given a longer leash than Ewers? For some reason I think some of the back of the end zone passes should be lower than the uprights of the goal. But that's just me. And I never bad mouth any of our kids. But Ewers is semi-pro, so he can take the obvious criticism.

I always loved him at Texas and so very happy for him that he has found a degree of success in the NFL. My heart broke for him when he blew his Achilles, with the Texans. Of course a LOT better to be at Carolina than in Houston at this point...
  13. now THAT should be the slogan of the Republican Party!
  14. Who is your audience? What sort of music do you want. I like .38 special but do I see them filling a 4500 person venue? Probably not? If you are allocating $50K fro up front band expense that is $11 a seat. If it's a complete sell out! i would maximize other potential areas of revenue if possible depending on the venue. 1) food and drink are those solely the venues? 2) parking 3) sell sponsorships for shirts or whatever you need to supply for the event. Again I am figuring out my audience first. I figure the first band is... Suede...
  15. You know, I think I have decided that Texas rolls in this one. Or rolls barely over the finish line with a win. Either way I think that the team is very, very close to truly having a "next man up" mentality that can actually be backed up by the personnel. I am excited to see Johnathan Brooks for example. I hate not having our two best running backs, one of the better combinations in the country. But I have to be excited about the kids getting opportunities. I think Washington has motivation and not the player attrition that Texas will have, but I think we are going to see some new kids step up into the limelight. What I do not see if Washington rolling Texas. Not to say it's not possible, but I think the team is a LOT more of a TEAM than they were even a year ago. The leadership of guys like Bijan and Roshon for example cannot be underestimated. This game will show us a lot of whether that leadership and dedication has been permanently instilled in the team, as the younger kids step forward to take their place in the line up. I am very optimistic about this game. It probably means more to Washington, as simply playing Texas is most team's "Superbowl." However,I think it is going to be very exciting seeing the new kids step up and take advantage of opportunities. I also expect some brutal mistake by the new personnel, that gives Washington some easy points. That will be when the adversity comes. The response to that adversity will tell me a lot about how much the team itself has evolved. Simply as much of the leadership on the team is sitting this one out prepping for the NFL. I think we are going to be happy with both the outcome and what we see from the next group of kids stepping into the shoes of some very, very good players. I am fervently hoping to see a new group of team leaders take the reign. IF that happens, we are really on our way to something special as long as we can keep the two deep full with talent. Team leadership is the single biggest factor in most championship level teams. Coaches cannot be the motivators, nor the standard enforcers. To me seeing who steps up to fill the leadership roles vacated by guys like Roshon, Bijan and DeMo is the detail I will be looking most closely for. But you are going to need to see some adversity to see who really steps forward. Hook'em!
  16. There is one way you can for sure win if you are headed to SA.
  17. Say what you want about Card, but I guarantee he also could easily throw 45 yard incompletions. With less hair and a LOT less cash. πŸ˜‰ I wish card well. He was limping most every game he started in. I hope he kicks ass.
  18. All Robin hood is for is to allow millionaires toy ranches and farms with Ag exemptions, and shift the bill to city folks. If the toy ranches and farms had to pay property taxes then the need to shift money into these "poorer" districts would be unnecessary. But hey when you can spend $20,000 on some pregnant cows, sell the cows for close to what you paid and avoid property tax on a $5,000,000 property, that's a bargain. Now this is in no way denigrating to actual ranchers and farmers who make their living ranching and farming, but a lot of taxes are not collected because of folks taking the ag exemption whose income is nearly entirely unrelated to ranching. And the income supposedly produced that created the exemption is far less than the tax avoided. Of course there is also shit tons of money in the state coffers, but it must be spent without any accountability on "the border" instead. But hell the bottom line the only children the majority of the Republican party cares about from a legislative capacity is unborn children. What needs to happen is parents and ESPECIALLY younger voters need to vote on education. When that changes Texas will move out of the basement of school funding.
  19. First and foremost. Set your thermometer 10 degrees cooler than the temp you want to pull at. I use this as my "go on alert" alarm, to start watching closely. Even a smaller roast will go up 5-6 degrees from the time you pull it. Seems like the bigger ones rise like 7-10 degrees when pulled. But hopefully you are going to have leftovers! If not buy a bigger damn roast! But other than the usual sandwiches we have doing two things mainly with the leftovers. IF we used Hawaiian rolls then I keep 3-4 of the rolls intact and create one larger roll. Then we make Philly Cheese Steak, by browning the Hawaiian rolls in butter, and cook up some onion and shrooms in a pan and add in the thinly cut ribeye to finish. We put the cheese on the to side of the toasted Hawaiian roll buns rather than melt it on the meat in the pan, simply as the control on the narrower Hawaiian rolls is tougher to manage. But if you have both leftover roast and horseradish sauce, try making some quesadillas! We have been making quesadillas of late with the leftovers. Pick your own cheese, but I am telling you, the ribeye quesadillas are the frigging bomb. And they are frigging something different! I think I like them actually more than the cheese steaks. So instead of that roast beef sandwich, take a look at the leftover cheese from the charcuterie board and make yourself a quesadilla, and dip it into the horseradish sauce. Delicioso! PSA - Sprouts has Choice Angus Ribeye roast for $9.99 that I believe they will (or already have) cut the ribs away and tied it, until the 27th. HEB by contrast has the same cut for $15.99 ending today the 24th. Think I am gonna grab one for either the Alamo Bowl or New Year's Eve. Good eating this holiday season!
  20. Yeah I really wished I would have saved my tix. While I NEVER INVITED ANY AGGIES (not cool enough) in high school all I did was buy 10 tix, sell 8 tix to my friends. Saw a LOT of those shows. The ZZ Top Jeppenson Stadium show stood out as I had that ticket... then we took the family vacation that week. Sorry to disrupt the joke show that is A&M. However, I can assure you that when you glance at PTINS ticket montage above, the one thing you DID NOT FIND at those shows.... was fucking Aggies! πŸ˜‰
  21. Glad I popped in, but never took history of Rock and Roll. Did see U2 at Club Foot when I was working there in 81, the at Opera House in '82 to flex... πŸ˜‰ Clash at Austin Auditorium when it was basically a military storage like facility where UT would host the frat's fight nights. Saw Tom Petty at Opera house after winning tix from KLBJ in Fall of '79. I went to tons of concerts in HS but Austin was a lot smaller than Houston and the ability to see quality in a small venue is a jewel that should never be passed up. Music is another reason I could never, ever, ever consider attending A&M. How would you like to be a Ag Grad and spend the rest of your life seeing your Alma mater reinforce it's reputation for stupidity again, and again, and again. Every time they get optimistic, the cruel reality of Agginess always rules the day. Hell they even years ago claimed to be able to turn salt water into gold... If you can believe that fucking stupidity. Ags are never to be hated. They are to be mocked, with likely many episodes of repeated head shaking and laughter... That's is what Aggies are all about, something to giggle at!
  22. Oh and I would like to nominate Bulevar in the old Z-tejas Arboretum location as perhaps the champion of overrated in Austin. Maybe it's me but when you start getting into the $30+ dollar range on pulled pork pabil, and Roasted chicken... you start to lose me. But hey I'm not from Cali....
  23. I wil chime in on Chuy's simply because damn it they used to be damn good. Of course this was the early days when the Barton Springs location was basically the kitchen and the hubcap room. They sponsored our T-shirts for a soccer team (Austin United) and it was important that we went after games at Zilker to help them keep the place open. Back then their Fajitas, especially chicken really were the bomb. What was genius and I still miss were the "Banditos" a mixture of cheese and green chile wrapped in a wheat tortilla (might have been rice paper) and deep fried with Jalepeno ranch. That was some good shit. Of course that was a Looooonnnng time ago. Now Chuy's to me is a kid's restaurant, with parents and the unknowing making up most of the crowd. Sad though because they used to have really good quality control. But as they expanded... the suckery did too. I will say the one place I do really miss is old Shady Grove. I used to have all the recipes, and lost the damn things. But that Veggie Chili really was the bomb. And Veggie is NOT my usual go to.
  24. I prefer to think of this candidate as simply a natural extension of the "morals and principles" held by the Republican Party as a whole.
  25. Forgot to put the back end of the roast that I had to cut off. My first Cowboy Ribeye on the grill.
