I nominate Ray Wylie Hubbard's "Screw You, We're from Texas" -

If this game was at UT and we still had all natural Turf with a 4-0 lead, there would be two helicopters hovering over left and right field. 😉 -

The one thing I found interesting earlier was that the clock on the game is still running. So when they do restart the game could later be called complete with fewer than 9 innings. Hopefully they can get back out there. They have lights so... what would be the latest time for a potential restart today? -
It's hard to do. But it's always good to know where your neighbor gets their information. I have to tip my hat to Tucker. He is truly a whore's whore. He cares about nothing but his bank account. He will say anthing t any point in time, because he is a whore, just like Fox news. But it's always good to listen to tucker, just to hear how fucking stupid your neighbor is. You can actually listen to Tucker and complete the sentences of your white neighbor's endless grievances. So listen occasionally to the lies and the racism of Tucker Carlson. Occasionally listen to what Tucker tells your neighbor to think. . It will not only help you remember what a whore is, but it will help you tell neighbor what his or her "thoughts" are before they come out of their mouths. It's actually sort of funny. If you watch Tucker... you know what they think before you do. Sort of funny to me that you can watch a whore on TV at 7 o'clock on Fox and know nearly exactly what your neighbor "thinks" in the morning. I think that is fucking funny! That your neighbor is that fucking dumb and gullible. I would feel sad for the stupidity, except... I HATE STUPIDITY!

One thing that I think Biden should seriously consider is building a national refining capacity. Maybe take over the refinery shell abandoned last year? I have always said (every tie we have high gas prices, JUNE of every year) what good is a strategic petroleum reserve without strategic refining capacity. Each and every year gas prices go up because of a known supply squeeze created every single year as we convert from winter to summer fuel blends. Now I know for those that don't know a fucking lick about economics the price of gas (this one time) is the President's fault. If prices were low we know that Republicans would be using the exact opposite logic. But I think we should have national refining capacity. Think of the billions it could save consumers. And it would help out the oil companies that lament that the price of goes up every summer. Without strategic refining capacity what good does a bunch of oil in the ground really do? If you really want to lay blame for high gas prices, you should put it at the feet of Former PResident Donald J. Trump, who sat back and did not utter a peep when his fanboys Putin and the Murderer Saudi Prince decided to flood the market with oil to destroy the US fracking industry and US World oil production dominance. Because... for you non-economics folks... it's ultimately supply and demand. Trump let the US get rolled by Russia and the Saudis. Of course Jared got $2 billion last month so maybe for Trump is was worth it. The GOP honestly does not give a shit if the working class folks are struggling with high gas prices. If there was a solution they would be against it! Because it's purely about political power, and NEVER about the American people.

Biden should simply tell the truth. We inherited the biggest damn mess any President has ever inherited. Thousands dying every day from Covid. A President who just tried to get his supporters to overthrow democracy. A new vaccine to slow the covid deaths, but with almost no planning at all to get the vaccine distributed. A NATO alliance weakended by the former President's love affair with Putin, and massive deficit spending. Wow... What a difference four years made when the former President inherited the strongest economy with the lowest unemployment rate in decades for an incoming administration. They added massive debt in tax cuts for billionaires and millionaires on the promise of increasing Job growth, but they could not even match the job growth they inherited. And that was before the incredibly botched covid response that cost many thousands to die needlessly because the former President viewed covid as a 2020 election problem rather than a health problem that would kill a million American citizens he was charged with protecting. So basically we had a hell of a lot of mess to clean up. Just like President Obama and I did when we took the office. I wish I could make inflation go away. But we wanted to create a job making machine, and we did. With the lowest recorded unemployment rates in modern history. The worst thing is a lot of good could be done in Congress but every action is blocked by Republicans in the Senate. You can't get a vote for anything without a Republican Senator blocking it for one reason or another. For Christ's sake, it took an invasion by Russia to get Republican Senators not to block the ambassador nomination to Ukraine. Think about that for a second. We have solved the employment crisis, brought normality back to the nation with smart covid policy and vaccine distribution. In the United States we allow private business to manufacture products rather than the government. So we cannot turn on supply chains that we do not control. But we will solve this problem just like all the other ones we have inherited. But it will not be instantaneous.

I also think the Dems need to link Mass shooting "Gun Freedom requirement" to the "women can't choose what to do with their bodies" because of sanctity of life bullshit. Something like this. "Each day there is another Republican Sponsored mass shooting. While at the same time the same politicians that demand total freedom for fun owners to the access to the guns for mass shootings, believe a women's right to personal freedom ends at her ovaries. THink about that for a moment?" I would repeat this over, and over, and over. It is a very difficult position to defend. Because there is no logic to it at all. Women are the biggest swing block of voters, and IMHO this likely the best way to motivate younger voters for turnout in an off year election.

Actually I think President Biden should say there is not a pile of dead children large enough, then qualify for the usual GOP bullshit logic, and say there will never be a pile of moms, dads, kids, babies, or any other fucking living thing, that would move the GOP to do anything, but nothing. I honestly also think that Biden should come out every fucking day there is anew shooting (which ironically is every fucking day) and begin calling every mass shooting a GOP sponsored Slaughter.
-
I think the President should be honest with the American people. There simply will never be a stack of dead children tall enough for the GOP to to take any real action to curtail anything but guns being the leading cause of child mortality in our country. There is simply no a pile big enough for any real action. No line of caskets long enough.

I have replaced quite a few ice makers and usually the part is pretty cheap, and the access is tight, but that $600 seems high? Part is usually $75 - $150. Did you guys have the icemaker in the bottom as on French door? Or the Door mount? The reason I ask I I got a great deal on a bottom freezer French Door refrigerator from Costco, but they put a small dent on it. Five minutes ago I agreed to a replacement. But if the fucking icemaker is going to take a shi, I may have to rethink. For me having the garage fridge is about as much about ice as it is refrigeration. I took out the ice tray of the last fridge and put in big plastic file cabinet bottom. it would hold a little over 10 lbs of ice. Saved a lot of annoying trips to convenience store. SHIT TONS OF FRIDGES ARE ON SALE UNTIL JUNE 6th!!!! Costco has some very steep discounts as does home depot and lowes.

I was just curious about the experience of others. Mostly I have gone with two brands, Price Pfister and Delta. But I am curious about your experiences with other brands, especially from a durability and service perspective. Now I see so many different brands and styles of stuff that I like but the brands are obscure and I figure if something goes wrong over time it's a 100% replacement cost. I like Delta mainly for Shower Faucet installations as the tend to build their future products to be compatible with the existing behind the wall internal valves. So if I want to change the appearance later I can easily do that because of this compatibility. The only customer service interaction I had was some missing parts that they replaced for free. I think I had to pay for a replacement part later that got damaged. I also like that there are a fair amount of compatible products like towel bars and toilet paper holders to complete a makeover pretty easy. In the past I have bought Price Pfister simply because I liked the style of the faucets for the kitchen and bath sinks. Past that I knew nothing. But what I will say about Price Pfister is their service after the fact is some of the best I have experienced. When they say "lifetime warranty" they really mean it. I have needed to order things like a replacement o ring, and they send me the entire valve with new cartridge inserts free of charge. They even sent me a brand new unit on a discontinued Kitchen faucet model that broke after like 8 years. So if I like the style I have been drifting towards them, but styles like with any line are limited. What are your experiences, especially from an after the sale and durability perspective? When I go to faucets direct or build.com websites there as so many brands that I just don't know what is a good brand, and what is shit. Though I do like some of the styling. Any brands you particularly like or dislike?

I have done a few in my lifetime. As has been said it's more of a purge of volume than anything. Here are my hints- 1) Putting pricing on shit is the worst, and too time consuming. Divide up into groups by dollar amounts. I used drop cloths and tarps to stack shit up in rows on a $3, $5 and $10 amounts. 2) For men's shirts "If it's got a collar it's a dollar, if not 50 cents". 3) The larger or heavier something is the more negotiable on price I am 4) When it gets close to the end try to get somebody to buy "everything left, but you gotta take it all." Usually you can find somebody with a truck that can't resist and end of day mass firesale. 5) Spend the proceeds all on Whiskey or Food that same day, celebrating your junk removal! If you are going to do it have fun with it, and try to move that shit. Discount ANYTHING but you need them to buy somethingnelse for that discount. As you goal is removing volume! In my area putting up a few signs is enough, and bargain hunters are out and about early. In fact I have had folks in my front yard as I was dragging shit out at like 7:15. Only warning at all I have, is that you will sometimes have larger groups that want to steal your shit. They sort of overrun you, for distraction and little shit can disappear fast. If you don't give a shit, then no worries, if you have things of decent value then simply keep those things close to keep an eye on.

Sad that is so easy to predict the deceptions of law enforcement. I honestly wish it was not the case. Uvalde teacher closed open door

Unconscionable Corruption Can't Buy Off DUI
horn4life replied to Harrison Bergeron's topic in Cloak Room
DId he text some shit about overthrowing the Government? I guess it would sort of silly to point of the Stupidity of "Unconscionable Corruption." But party on Garth! Out of Curiousity- What would you call a key person in an Administration that embraced a murderer Prince who had a critic Journalist Chopped up who never ran an investment firm, getting $2 billion from the murderer Saudi Prince? Just want to see how this "corruptions scale" plays out. Likely with silence right Harrison Bergeron? 😉 -
I was going to say much earlier that there will be some sort of Special DPS investigation similar to that of The Bonfire Tragedy. A predetermined verdict, looking for an explanation.
-
I sadly predict that this is going to end with more than a few suicides on the law enforcement side. Hearing the timeline on the 911 calls would certainly keep me awake at night. I can only imagine the second guessing and remorse for those officers standing in the hall. It's a tragedy for them and their families as well. And it's only going to get worse as the digging continues and the actual facts slowly trickle out. So many lives ruined because we allow mentally unstable or simply uncaring people, super easy access to the most power lightweight killing weapons in the world.

I would rather shoot myself in the head than go to the beach or river on Memorial day weekend. But you guys have fun and stay safe on the roads!

Interesting a lot of detail on the propped open door that teachers walked by, but when asked about "Where was the resource officer?" Answer; "We will have all those answers down the road." What is interesting to me is that timeline here BEGINS at the school, rather than after the shooting of the Grandmother in the face. 11:27 door propped open by teacher; 11:28 truck crashes, teacher runs for phone from room #132 (outing the teacher) then goes to door that remains propped open; 11:30 teacher calls 911 man with a gun as the kid opens fire on funeral home workers. 11:31 first shots fired at school. 11:36 killer enters school. I feel sorry for the guy talking as he is tasked with standing up and giving indefensible timelines for indefensible inaction. Hundreds of rounds fired initially. Basically the logic is that all the kids are already dead. And that guides the decision to not breach sooner. You will notice as this drags on that almost all the inaccurate information originally given will be more flattering to law enforcement. The information that comes out later that is accurate will most often be information that is unflattering. It is a horrible thing for anyone to have to stand up and address this shit. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy. But I also recognize why the door propped open was mentioned twice early in the press conference, and the timeline starts at the school rather than when Grandma gets shot in the face. It's by design.

Here's the deal, I do not think we will ever be a gun free country. But its fucking dumb as shit to pretend that "universal background checks" mean that your guns will be taken away. We used to have an assault weapons ban. The GOP helped pass it, BECAUSE it had an expiration date. Then the GOP tooks lots and lots of money from the NRA, and it realized that Gun owners were rabid about voting. So a few dead folks were worth letting assault weapons designed only to kill people in an offensive matter was a no briner for the morally corrupt Republicans in office, so they let the ban expire. Gun owners beame another largely white sliver of voters the GOP could cobble together, along with other single issue voters, like anti-choice voters. But the reason that the assault weapons ban is no longer in existence is simply because Republicans want guns as in issue, nothing about freedom, it's always about political power. I am armed to the fucking teeth, but there is no logical reason at all for ANYONE to own and SKS, SR-15 or any other gun that is designed only to explode flesh of humans. It is NOT a weapon of defense, it is a weapon of offensive war. Plainly and simply. When I hear the tired platitudes to mental health concerns I just fucking laugh. Hell the sort of person who does not understand that people without guns , will be unable to slaughter innocents without said gun, is IMHO mentally unstable. Simply because they cannot admit the truth. No guns, no gun deaths. AGAIN - I will point out that the same political party that wants guns for everyone, ALWAYS find cuts to mental health care every time the dollars are legislatively allocated. SO let's stop pretending that "mental health" is anything but a red herring to... you guessed it... NOT talk about guns. There is simply no reason at all that ANYONE in the US should be in possession of an AR or similar weapon of war. That a fucking 18 year old can buy them is ridiculous, but it's the sort of false and selfish freedoms that is all the GOP is about. The closest logical reasoning for having such a gun would be the actions of Trump supporters on January 6th. Past that? No logical reason at all. And even then the logic justifying possession is a stretch. What we do have is a form a mental illness within the GOP, where dead children are to be cried over, prayed over, and move on from as quickly as possible. So they can keep cashing NRA checks and get primary votes on the backs of dead children. If that's not mental illness I do not know what is.

The amount of money wasted is mind blowing. I watched the mind boggling waste of DPS taxpayer money after Hurricane Harvey. Eight DPS troopers, parked at an angle on the beach watching me fish. That was like a week in a row. As I saw the assorted news casts of the horrors, two things drift into my mind. The massive number of law enforcement that race to the scene of horrific things like this shooting, simply "to be part of it." Secondly is the cost of a shit ton of law enforcement folks standing around visiting. I am not saying that i do not understand the desire to "race to the scene" or want to "be a part of the biggest thing that happened here." Because I do. But when I see what must have been 4-5 times the law enforcement presence after the fact, as the number of children killed? And today there are like 3 officers, each representing a different agency standing in front of the memorial for the dead kids. I just do not understand it. Today we have lots and lots of police departments showing a presence as schools to make parents and children falsely feel more secure. A presence that will of course dissipate, long before the next actual theat. But damn the money in Payroll and "overtime" is fucking HUGE! Without anything but a pretend feel good moment. Anyhow I have always been a fiscal conservative with taxpayr money and what contribution does the mass police presence at these events do other than generate overtime for folks not doing a fucking thing? I mean we had over 100 officers at the Uvalde mass murder and with all those officers, they could not even get the basic details of the crime accurately to the public.

and why the Fuck is The University allowing copyright infringement by the NRA?
-
No Confusion, that's the crazy upside down bubble world Republican voters and politicians live in. Up is down, and down is up, for at least a news cycle. The bottom line is it is IMPOSSIBLE to find more than a handful of Republicans with any actual principles at all. Lip service to everything, action on... nothing. but trans.. gay..
-
I wish that just a few times in this century the GOP would actually put forward a solution to a big problem? Trans kids Don't say Gay Don't talk about slavery due to white sensitivity make medical decisions for women in direct opposition the the citizenry Prevent votes on any Gun Legislation and make STUDYING the effects of gun violence illegal with Federal dollars Shit I have been waiting just over 3 decades for the GOP to put forward a healthcare plan. I have been waiting for over 2 decades for the GOP to allow debate and votes on any sort of immigration plan. Now the GOP wants to do things they have been diametrically opposed to for 60 years, funding education and funding mental health. No fucking shit, that's the GOP's solution. Toss some money at the exact things they routinely dismantle funding for at every opportunity. They truly live in an alternative universe where they can pretend almost anything is the truth... except of course the truth.
