Buttigieg/Secretary of Transportation Thread
horn4life replied to Hank Kingsley's topic in Cloak Room
Don't feed the morons. bottom line is this wreck, like any mass killing using an assault weapon is the result of the GOP's unwillingness to do anything but whine and whine and whine. Exactly like you hear with Biden, Buttigieg, or any other Democratic. Just complain like a motherfucker and never, ever, ever put forth any fucking legislation to solve even minor issues of importance. The ONLY thing of any consequence the Republicans have done is the last 40 years via national legislation is simply explode the deficit spending again and again when they INHERIT good economies form the Democrats. -

I'll bet you dropped some F-Bombs! All your really had to do was remove the front mount that holds the heating element in place to remove it. Little screw behind it is a booger to access though. Tight quarters to be sure, and I dropped the screws about 5 times trying to get them back in, but a lot easier than removing the drum. In my case I have done this surgery a couple times. And now unfortunately I have to do exactly what your picture shows! 😉 Have the box of four rollers one of those mofo's is getting noisy. Past all the electronic control panel shit dryers are pretty fucking simple, electrically. -
What's funny is your right to be a fucking verifiably mentally disturbed person and buy an AR15 to shoot up a school never falls into the "well let's arrest you and we will figure it out later category." Of course the "real danger" is that vape cartridge you thought was legal. I guess the only solution to the police abuse would be to carry around the receipt? But then they would just say, nope, receipt might be fake! Get an attorney and sort it out.... giggle... giggle... The reason drugs are illegal. Republicans sell fear as their singular most popular product. Almost all GOP fund raising the last 40 years has been fear based, and drugs fold right into that. Well... and the original reason for making things like marijuana illegal to begin with... brown people. The sad thing is most kids honestly have no fucking idea that the little vape pen the carry is the exact same legally as carrying around 5 POUNDS of marijuana. They are identical in the eyes of Texas law. Neither poses the level of danger associated with the level of punishment. It is honestly nearly impossible to make a coherent argument that the penalty matches the crime when it comes to vape pens. It is however, a great way for police to routinely abuse their discretion, and ruin lives selectively. Shit I think the vape pens are great, but not worth a felony charge. I wouldn't buy the delta shit simply because I know the police in general are not that bright and the chance of getting fucked over even though in legal possession are simply too likely for me. There is a solution PLEASE YOUNG PEOPLE VOTE!!!! SAVE US FROM THE OLDER WHITE RURAL (often racist) MINORITY THE GOP WANT TO RULE THE STATE!

Probably the only certainty is that we will host the first A&M matchup which will wrap the Aggies panties so tightly that their birthrate may fall in 2024. So Pods...? Or no Pods...?

The official 2024 GOP Presidential Candidate Clown Car thread!
horn4life replied to horn4life's topic in Cloak Room
Well I guess I should add Vivek's pic to the clown car. I guess the greatest thing about the GOP 2024 Clown Car... right now it's more diverse than ANY group ever elected by Republicans! Donald is saying AWESOME! The more clowns I can get into the car, the more likely the most dangerous clown can become President again. -
As we talk about scores and handicaps, I forgot what I dislike most about the game. The general lack of honor of so fucking many people. Anyhow thanks all! I saw the GHIN system. The place I am looking at has Trackman? simulator to get my lessons at. I figure 8 lesson in the next two months (twice as many as I ever had) will put me on the right track. They gal showing me the place said a lot of coaches like Trackman to coach from. Is that true? I am very ignorant here as I have never hit even a single ball in a simulator. But as I was telling my wife I will absolutely listen to coaching, but does this trackman system give you enough information to where you can help coach yourself? If that makes sense. Like does it tell you if the ball is spinning left or right? So I could see how minor position adjustments in my feet might for example change the spin on the ball? THANKS AGAIN all of you for answering my sometimes stupid questions.
-
So probably super dumb question. But I never really turned my cards in before to get an official handicap, and wondered what is the best way to do this since I will be playing mostly public golf courses around Austin. Seems like my Father-in-Law used to be part of MGA or Men's Golf Association in Austin. Any pros or cons to joining one club or another. Do you even turn the cards in? Or is there an App where you turn them in digitally? There is a large group that plays once a month I go invited to play with months ago, but I really need to establish a handicap before I play because they run it as a tournament. Plus I figure I need to get some rounds in while I suck! 😉

Warsher Lid Closure detector- Cletus related

That little fucking wire was hard as shit to find during covid. The supply one supply house in that I found one in, told me that one of their regulars bought 47 of the last 48 they had. I got the 48th. Shit you had undetermined, as lead times all over the internet. I felt damn lucky just to have the part. Assuming it's the part with two different size female clips that so often burns out. I miss my old beater gas dryer that I tossed when replacing with the the "newish" front loading set. One a side note the wife was putting in some enchiladas this Sunday and it looked like the oven light was flickering on and off from the living room. I was not the light. Instead it was the electric burner failing as the burner rod began to melt. It looked like a welder when the outer bit of metal burned away. Glad as fuck we were not cooking something big where we put it in the oven and do outside chores. So after having my whole house flood 18 months ago, the oven could have easily lit up and at least smoke damaged the whole place we finally have put all back together. Good luck with your appliances boys and girls! Might be a good time for me to check my dryer vent hose, before some other appliance tries to ruin my life. -
Hell if I didn't have the "pull it out of my ass luck" you would for sure be right! Actually if I am playing for low score, i'm conservative as hell. But I will also absolutely attempt shots that are low percentage, but because usually there is a lot of money on the line, and it's do or die. About the only time I have ever really tried to work the ball at all has been really with foot/ball position on my 3 and 4 iron rather than thinking I can move my strike point 3/8 of an inch with any degree of consistency. Thank God I can putt and can read the green usually pretty well. My lines are usually good, but my touch on speed is definitely off. But that will take care of itself with a little more practice, with consciously firmer putts, along with pro side, not low side adjustments to stay higher on the hole to make it "larger." The wind on the green was definitely fucking with me today when I was practicing. I do have two paperback copies of "Drive for Show, Putt for Dough. Memoirs of a Golf Hustler" on the way. Great read if you have never read it! Since the only reason I used to play was gambling it was a great guide to some of the psychology of successful golf gambling I was unaware of. Highly recommended!

My future Golf Buddy had some hand me down Taylor made RZB's that are probably 8 or so years old. But light years ahead of my old ass beaters. The larger more forgiving club face definitely reduced the mis-hits. Though the grips were worn and my hands were slipping some, the technology was a considerable improvement. In the past I have really preferred a corded grip on my irons. My buddy did not like these because of the steel shafts, and is moving to a set with graphite shafts. I need to hit some new technology Irons in both steel and graphite to see if I want to move to graphite shafts on my irons. One question though. Will a larger face and graphite shafts make it harder to work the ball with a draw or fade? I am assuming more forgiveness (flex) makes this more difficult? Was definitely getting a LOT more distance on the RZB's. Whatever I go with I am going to have to rethink the distances from what I used to use to calculate years ago. I also liked to use my 4 and 3 a fair amount back when I could sort of work the ball on longer approaches, and my 5 wood for more straight away shots. I can see how with a bit of practice, and some better technology in equipment, I should be able to shoot bogie golf in no time. Mainly I just don't want to be the asshole slowing down everything searching for my ball in the woods every other hole.

It was probably for Fall 2022.... knowing Aggies...

Seems like the agent I used was in Liberty Hill and I think I got her name from Outdoorsy? Anyhow I was surprised, but you have to think there is some sort of referral kicker back to USAA. So somewhere there is some additional margin. I did almost no research, but I thought I would get a quote on the coverage that would at least give me the option to rent if I wanted to. Probably never will in all honesty, but I wanted to know the cost of the option. I was surprised it was less. On a more- Hey this is sorta cool... I bought a pair of these aluminum shovels, because I go to the coast a lot. But for an RVer a lightweight option for that once or twice you really wish you had a damn shovel. But on sale for $30 for the pair at Costco. But very light and really good for the beach, as truly nearly all aluminum. Anyhow, I'm tossing one in my truck and one in my trailer. About the only thing I can see that might rust would be the pin or the spring for the handle extension. .
-
I was doing the same thing. Then I think I got the same Progressive coverage, with the ability to rent the unit (I never have), insured the trailer for $24K vs $15K and paid less than my rate from progressive via USAA. I need to actually review the policy on the level of insurance for contents. As i just realized my items coverage for my cars is only $250. Then it rolls to my homeowners. But with a 1% deductible there I gotta have a lot of shit stolen to cover the deductible.

After seeing Nikki Haley basically say, "all my policies are the same as Donald Trump" and I agree with everything he says. Why is she running? To raise her profile for 2028? To be Trump's VP? I honestly don't understand announcing and then basically saying Donald Trump and I are exactly alike! Wouldn't you think she would have something to differentiate herself from the only other challenger in the race? I mean something right? -
How fucking funny would Texas vs OU, A&M and LSU be with... A&M vs Texas, OU, and Arky. Hell one of you photoshop geniuses create and leak a memo... It would be worth is just to watch the complete mental breakdown of the Aggie base for a few hours.

So I guess welding Aluminum is a leap above all of this correct? I have always wanted to learn welding just to add it to my quiver of talents. I go to the coast a lot and have come up with some ideas for a hitch based carrier that would covert to an elevated rod holder and tray for surf fishing, with enough height to run out shark baits. But I would need to weld on a couple of triangular shaped convertible mounts onto the square tubing to enable the conversion from hitch carrier to elevated rod holder stand. I assume welding aluminum is a lot trickier?

Fuck John McCain. I was actually considering voting for McCain at one point. But McCain did the most dangerous thing any Presidential candidate has ever done in my lifetime. Nominated somebody completely and totally unqualified as his Vice President because of his own personal desire for power. As the oldest man running to that point there needed to be some minimum bar of quality and competence. McCain discarded that reasonable guideline and put the country at risk. In fact I dare say that that McCain's embrace of the lunacy of Sarah Palin certainly helped pave the way for Donald Trump. Up until that point I had a great deal of respect for McCain. But the danger he put out country in with Palin was simply not worth the risk. And he knew it was risky!!!- 727 replies

Anyone who say Buechele was a bad QB is a moron. Now you can say that with the shit O-line Texas had building the "run for your life offense" around was not gonna be Shane. Totally understood why he left. And yes... it's a fucking shame that Texas hasn't put more QB's into the NFL. there is a fucking two letter word reason... OL!

Well since we now officially have two candidates in former President Trump, and former Trump convert Nikki Haley, officially in the race the GOP really needs their own Presidential Candidate thread. You know that Mike Pence is in... because God told him to run. You know that Mike Pompeo is in because he lost weight and never answered questions under oath like Hilary Clinton did for hours. You know Ted Cruz is in simply because he has shown himself to be a man completely without shame, and extra low T when defending his wife's honor. Here is an image of who CNN thinks is looking at joining the race. But those first two spots in the clown car are now confirmed. DeSantis is in obviously. I don't know about Governor Abbott, if you were him would you want the national media laser focused on his response to the two biggest crisis he has faced in Uvalde and the power outage. In both cases he led with lies... Tim Scott will likely toss his hat in, just to let Nikki Haley know she ain't that special. Youngkin and Sununu could be decent candidates, but they are not nutty enough for the main stream GOP and likely one or both will keep their dry. Larry Hogan falls into this same category along with Asa Huchinson. I think Chris Christi is old news, but he might hop in just to fuck with Trump. Krist Noem might run, only because she is so vacuous that he probably believes she is just what America needs. Will Hurd? I seriously doubt it, but he might as a protest and just to raise his profile for the future. Liz Cheney - I would almost like her to run just to try and put a more serious percentage number on the dwindling sanity and reason within the GOP. She is the most interesting to me, as like Trump she might actually be able to garner an unshakable core percentage that while unable to achieve victory might put her a position for a real run in 2028. Add Your clown to the list! The scary things is that the more clowns there are the greater the possibility of a traitor President returning to office.

So went and hit a few balls and I know it's time to upgrade my gear, just because Iron technology has evolved so much in the last 30 years, I would now be at a clear disadvantage. The larger more forgiving faces on the irons alone would be worth the upgrade. I looked at a few online suggestions and since I love my Cleveland wedges, I thought their Launch Halo Irons might be a possibility. They got very good reviews. I also have liked my Callaway products and the wife said there was some gold stuff at Costco. And low and behold there was what seems like a very affordable set or graphite shafted Callaway Edge Irons, woods and an Odyssey Putter which is similar to my old Ping I like already. What do you guys think for a moderate upgrade to improve my game from my '90's tech. Costco Callaway 10 piece golf club set. For $579 with the putter seems like a decent deal. Same kit on Amazon was like $720 and up. Any suggestions or opinions on other forgiving clubs for an old duffer getting back into things? At least my shoes are comfy!

Well now that I've seen the framing.... It's sort of cool ain't it Luke?

pretty sure it's not to code as the idea is little heads not fitting anywhere through the gap and then the little one panicking, and strangling. I would fix it if it were me. Too bad you did not know sooner. I might ride the contractor a bit to help you out here, saying that honestly he should have known. Even without permits pulled that's a potential liability issue if some little one does strangle post remodel. DO THE MATH. It's honestly pretty simple. What IS a common mistake is to not properly account for the thickness of the flooring on the first step of the run. Saw some townhomes off MLK that had stained concrete rather than the hardwoods they should have because of this. Otherwise that first step is too short and the rise is not to code.

two small venue shows I just got tix for. Heavy, Heavy at C-boys in March. And a SoulHat reunion show (short Frosty)with Patrice Pice at Antone's to honor Johnny Walker who recently passed away. Might be the last time ever to hear "BoneCrusher" live. Walker used to play it on KLBJ on Friday's at five to start the weekend. Classic.
