Where is the RV wash? I know there is a truck wash on 37 south of San Antonio at 1604 loop, but it's usually filthy as hell. So by North Beach you are talking about the trun towards the beach right before the guardhouse?

Thanks for the Pics Troph! Beach looks wide and flat. I was wondering how the signal booster worked, or didn't. I know that triangle weight wasn't holding. 😉

Perhaps a spare case or two of beer, and extra tow straps... in case of disaster. The farther down you are, the more valuable the beer is.I agree with the use of some sort of riser, or wooden platform for the tires. I think honestly if you had trouble, somebody would likely stop and help you out. Especially you if are standing out front with a case of beer! I agree on the FLUSH YOUR SYSTEM suggestion. You can always put some water and bleach in on the drive down. The Padre Bali Park is you closest water fill and dump station..

Well as usual the Catholic Church is paying super strict attention to the slightest of details. Strange how they accidentally didn't notice all the child molesters who were doing a lot more than changing a phrase from "I" to "We."

A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]

I think what I have enjoyed the most the last few days is the Trump Organizations insistence that their accounting firm declaring all their accounting work for Trump and Co the last 10 years is unreliable, is a good thing??? With the Trump Organization proclaiming that this revelation should stop the investigations into their potential dishonesty in valuing real estate in a fraudulent manner... should now disappear because of this announcement. The good news for Trump is that he has a wonderful business selling his merch to the stupid. And will have a internet platform to specifically feed lies to stupid people. -
Remington Arms has settled with Sandy Hook families
horn4life replied to Gil Bang's topic in Cloak Room
I am armed to the teeth. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for me to own an AK, KS, or AR15, as their only purpose is to kill PEOPLE. Most murders are with handguns. But a lot more people kill themselves or loved ones every year, with guns for "defense" than are actually used in defense. We were smart enough to ban assault weapons, but the Republicans proved themselves to be whores, and now AR15's have completely flooded the market as one of the most popular and expensive weapons around. The money does not mean shit to Remington. Same way they feel about more dead school kids. It's about math. -
We have enjoyed our stays at IB Magee, close enough to where you can walk to beach, pier or Jetty (1/4 mile?) with the dogs. We usually end up just driving down the beach so the dogs have some space and we just surf fish, eat sandwiches and have beverages. You don't always catch keeper fish, but you usually get something to tighten the line if you make any real effort. Learn how to use a bobber stopper, to make a sliding cork to vary the depth, and go fish the Jetty? The sliding cork lets you have a better chance of the bait drifting though the area holding fish WITHOUT hanging up every damn cast. Though to be honest I have no idea where to fish now that they have added so many more granite blocks and smoothed the structure out so much at the port A improvement. We have also enjoyed taking folks to the Packery Channel if you head toward Corpus. Just to walk out onto the jetty. It's short, and it's smooth with hand railing the whole way out. I guarantee sea turtle sightings at either jetty if the water is halfway clear. If your kids are younger especially, go cut some PVC to make some pole holders, and take them and the dogs down to beach and learn to surf fish. Eat at La Playa... just cause I can't...

IF Mueller were Durham, Donald Trump Jr. would be steadily moving towards prison. Mueller did not see his job as Partisan, I don't think an honest assessment of Durham's work can looked at from the same lens. What is ALWAYS an easy bar bet? Ask a Republican, "How many questions do you think Trump answered, relating to obstruction of justice in the Mueller Investigation?" Then tell them the answer is none. Then ask them, "How many questions did Trump answered under Oath in the probe?" Again answer correctly and tell them none. The lack of a grasp of factual information is so baked into being a Republican now it's just who the party is.

If Russia is so fucking good at Chess how would you explain their long game of shrinking the USSR so effectively? Now if you want to say the US is war weary because of our Iraq mis-adventure, and the endless occupation of Afghanistan you would be right? But Biden knows weakness invites more aggression. The reality is also that bushing an aggressive stance is probably good politically for Biden. The long game question to me is does Putin want to risk it? He knows he can take the land. To be honest he already got the primary security access he wanted by taking the Peninsula. It's more an ego thing to me than a strategic thing at this point in the decision making process.

It will be very bloody over time. As ultimately if you can't win hearts and minds you simply cannot win. But I cannot say this in a vacuum as Russian Propaga is not unlike Fox News, people believe lies if they hear them repeated enough times. My fear is that Putin does not currently see a way to falsely declare "Victory" and that makes me nervous. The coming weeks (hopefully not months and years) will be interesting. There is no doubt that Russia can take the ground. It's the "at what cost" contemplation versus the "save face" contemplation for Putin. That is about the only thing in play. IF Russia does invade and China truly allies themselves with them, I think you start seeing a repatriation of chip making. I did like the mention at the security briefing that Russia and China only make up about 20% of the World's economy. At the same time China (surprise) did not honor the purchase commitments promised with Trump. So if this shit goes down, it may very clearly draw economic battle lines, and unify the West in a desire to move more and more manufacturing out of China, and limit technology exports. China is a great copier and thief but not great innovators. Russia is operating on a 1950's energy economy, and even with a big financial war chest the costs could add up quickly on both ends.

The little Pugg Goals were the shit. Pop up in seconds and small sided game on. Sounds like you found yourself a nice pickup game. I set up a casual game for whoever wanted to play at a nearby park for my girls team when they were like 11, and the more the merrier. Parents, siblings, boys, girls, just keep making the field bigger and goals a little wider as the numbers increase. Good times.

Putin can absolutely do this. The only question is the cost. He is MUCH better positioned financially to weather sanctions, but how long and expensive will war be? I think Putin has also underestimated Biden's resolve, and ability to get our allies to hold together. The really bad news is Putin has a few chips left to play, if he is bluffing then he's not getting the outcome he wants. If he isn't bluffing, then he has made a tactical decision that he can take and hold Ukraine, and that over time the allies will fracture in shallow self interest. Biden does not make the decision of putting troops in harm's way without a contemplation of the human costs to the military and their families. I think he also knows that if you do not stand up to a bully, you invite the same behavior over and over again. I think that surprised Putin.

When I started playing indoor in an over 40 league when I was pushing 50. Indoor was so endurance draining that 5 minutes was enough to gas you (IF you were playing hard.). The funny thing was we had a shitload of folks on the team, but at any point in time we had a handful of injuries. Hamstrings were very popular in our group! I used to also go play with some Turkish guys just 3 v 3. But I was older again by 10+ years and was always the weakest link. Which bothered the shit out of me, but those dominating days were long gone. Pickup games can be awesome, but only if everyone is chill and there isn't the one A Hole who thinks it's the olympics.

I opted for a 25% starting point with my vote. But I do agree that premium surcharges might be the most effective as a more gentle carrot. Ny biggest problem of the displacement of those who need treatment for the usual maladies and TRUE emergencies. A slow and steady steam of the stupid into the emergency room is simply not a cost effective model. So there are real costs involved that oftentimes are going to be picked up by the taxpayers simply do to stupidity. I was surprised to see so many say pass all the costs through, but I get the frustration.
-
There are basically two ways to change behavior. The carrot and the stick. We have for over a year been trying to convince folks to be smart and protect themselves and help our country get back to normal. I think now it's time for the stick. So what is your opinion? Time to start passing on some of the costs as an incentie to get a FREE SHOT?

Ran into my buddy the other day, and he asked me if I knew the Council Member. I laughed and said, "Yeah, her handle was "FitLump" on the BBS i frequent." Well apparently she was stalking the poor guy. His wife I think texted her to knock it off, and then she starting calling him from another number. He's getting a divorce anyhow, but he was like WTF a stalker. I guess she's low hanging fruit, or just really loves low hanging fruit, if you get my drift.

Thing$ $till not going well for Joe Rogan, I $ee.
horn4life replied to Parliament's topic in Cloak Room
I don't have a real problem with Neal Young pulling his music but I wish Rogan would just change for the better. Rogan knows his audience, and overall they aren't that bright, IMHO. He is trying to make money, spotify is trying to make money, Neal Young said, "I may lose money, but damn somebody needs to bring attention to this bullshit." Funny that the right wing snowflakes that while more mightily than a bitter North wind, think that "this" sort of cancel culture is bad. I personally don't like cancel culture much at all, but allowing people to vote with their pocketbooks? Spotify should have seemly told Rogan he needed to better vet his covid related guests and be certain he was not endangering his audience with mis-information. Rogan could have given his mea culpa and then it all could have gone away. The problem is that nothing at all was ever going to happen, unless money became involved for Spotify. Rogan has his deal, and this shit will likely make a good portion of his audience even more loyal IMHO. Everyone wants the money and nobody wants accountability. Maybe if you don't want content accountability, you shouldn't get the money? -
Dude! In Texas that's the only sort of infrastructure you can get.... without a toll....

The depth and breadth of the stupidity of the anti-vax (nearly all trumpers) folks used to be mind boggling. But the reality for these folks is they are so emotionally invested in lies they believe that the TRUTH cannot be allowed to creep in. This is simply darwinism. Where for the first time political choice is a factor where the "failure to adapt" is a mental rather than natural selection. I wonder if the slow and steady march of the unvaccinated into hospitals will eventually come with a big additional financial burden for the unvaccinated? Seems like some of the costs of the stupidity, should begin to get passed onto the stupid, at some point.

You really can't blame the GOP, since the tilted hard towards a more reliable racist base, this sort of Gerrymandering is their best bet. I wonder what the GOP majority would look like if they had the same districts as they did 20 years ago?

Thing$ $till not going well for Joe Rogan, I $ee.
horn4life replied to Parliament's topic in Cloak Room
Strangely I can remember a time long, long ago when the GOP often relied on factual information in decision making, and did not wholesale and embrace lies as a means of day to day rationalization for a myriad of uninformed political positions. Rogan is EXACTLY what a lot of males in the country want, and escape from reality. Joe Rogan is likely going to weather this, unless a couple more big names start hopping in with Neal Young. Even then Rogan will have a huge audience, because a large swath our our country WANTS to be misinformed. Because the misinformation, reinforced the misinformed opinions they already hold. Same as Fox News, lies don't matter, dollars matter. I wish the GOP as a collective was better informed. THE GOP is simply a minority race identity party. If you doubt this statement? I will give this as my evidence -- Unless you are 60 you haven't voted in an election where a first term Republican President actually received more votes than their Democratic opponent. -
The Bottom line on Kavanaugh is that the ALLEGATIONS, were not at all investigated by the FBI. There simply was no search for truth. But fuck, without lies is there even a GOP anymore?
