  1. Statistics. How you ask the question is key. 1.Violent crime is up under Biden. Near all time highs? No. We still don't have the revised numbers from 23 or 24 "To give people an idea of the size of the change, when the 2022 data came out in September 2023, they initially reported that violent crime had fallen by 2.1% in 2022.… That's the final data, supposedly, for 2022. The revision of that final data that came out last month (October 2024), now claims that rather than the 2.1% drop, that there was actually a 4.5% increase in violent crime that occurred in 2022. That's a 6.6 percentage point change there," Lott told Fox News Digital. 2. Inflation has declined to near historic averages after 3 years of historic highs. Average Year-Over-Year Inflation Biden vs Trump 5.2% vs 1.9 % An average of the year-over-year inflation rate for all months of each presidential term. Carter 1977 - 1981 9.9% Ford 1974 - 1977 8% Biden 2021 - 5.2% Nixon 1969 - 1974 5.7% Reagan 1981 - 1989 4.6% H.W. Bush 1989 - 1993 4.3% W. Stock Market - about the only thing working the last 4 years, I have no idea what the gains look like when adjusted for inflation 4. "over the last few months" - before an election, not the past 4 years
  2. When do they make their decision? https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-ask-new-york-appeals-court-toss-nearly-500-mln-civil-fraud-judgment-2024-09-26/ Members of the five-judge panel on the Appellate Division - the mid-level state appellate court hearing arguments in Trump's appeal - appeared concerned about possible overreach by James. Two of the judges interrupted Judith Vale, the lawyer arguing for New York, during her opening statement to ask if there were any other examples of the state suing over private business transactions between sophisticated parties under a law aimed at protecting market integrity. "Every case that you cite involves damage to consumers, damage to the marketplace," Justice David Friedman told Vale. "We don't have anything like that here," Friedman added, saying that nobody "lost any money."
  3. The no name Republican got a 32% of the vote which seems shocking. It took SF and LA two terms to kick out their DA trash, hopefully he is primaried next term or removed via lawsuit. Austin always trails behind these California cities and trends.
  4. She was the best CC member Austin had, which is sad. District will get what they vote for.
  5. With UPS no longer shipping Firearms from individuals, are gun stores/FFL holders offering shipping services?
  6. -to-56-amid-rising-homeownership-costs.html Yikes, that's alot of people getting priced out I’d argue interest rates and home insurance premiums (+property taxes in some states) are as big of hindrance, if not a bigger hindrance than a downpayment. You have options for a one time downpayment. Not much you can do about the other two.
  7. Im guessing Lando felt the same for Max in Q1?

  19. CNN — Michigan prosecutors charged a Chinese citizen with voter fraud and perjury after he allegedly cast a ballot in the 2024 election, authorities announced Wednesday. Sources familiar with the matter told CNN that the 19-year-old Chinese man who allegedly voted is a student who lives in Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan. Authorities said the man isn’t a US citizen, and therefore can’t vote in federal elections. The Chinese man – a student at the University of Michigan – cast his ballot on Sunday and then reached out to local election officials later that day in an attempt to get the ballot back, according to a source familiar with the situation. The man registered to vote at the polling place on Sunday, the source said. He used his university ID and other documents to demonstrate his residency in Ann Arbor while filling out a same-day voter registration forms, the source said. The Detroit News first reported the details. It appears that the student’s vote can’t be nullified after the fact and will be counted. Washtenaw County Clerk Lawrence Kestenbaum told CNN ballots can’t be retrieved once they have gone through the tabulator. Unlike vote-by-mail, ballots cast at in-person voting locations don’t contain any identifying information about the individual voter, making it impossible to determine which one belonged to the student, Kestenbaum said. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/10/30/politics/michigan-chinese-citizen-charged-after-illegally-voting not caught, self reported. Vote still counts
