California cops ‘frustrated’ with sanctuary laws stopping them from working with ICE over twice-deported criminal
The comments from Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux come following the death of Gustavo Garcia, a 36-year-old who police say embarked on a 'reign of terror' robbing a convenience store, shooting and killing a person and firing at buildings before crashing a truck that he had stolen. The day-long crime spree that began Sunday in the Fresno area also left five injured, including one critical, and Lindsay Police suspect Garcia was involved in an additional murder there.
During the chase Monday that ended in the crash that left Garcia dead, he drove the wrong way at speeds of up to 100 mph and hit four other cars – something that he appeared to have done on purpose, police said.
“We are very frustrated with the fact that the way the laws are set up currently that law enforcement hands are tied,” Boudreaux said Wednesday, noting that in years past, Garcia – who had been in police custody shortly before the rampage -- would have been handed over to ICE in cooperation with them.

That breathy voice thing in girly pop music has become extremely annoying. I'm not sure what artist everyone is copying that from, but whoever it is is the current form of the Dave Matthews/John Mayer cartoon voice virus.
Fuck. New one for mouthwash covers “Lean on Me”. It’s an abortion

Wait...I thought we WANTED to tax the rich more, instead we have a left leaning state trying to help the rich keep their tax cuts. Hypocrisy is thy name

It's a city ordinance thing. In Austin there was recently a discussion about this and they have approved them only on a small handful of trails. They are considered motorized vehicles and are not allowed on the Town Lake hike and bike trail and most others. People take them on it anyway and are generally a nuisance on the trail.
Fools need the lariat. Shoulder check incoming.

Yeah, why would poor, downtrodden people want to seek asylum and a better future in THE GREATEST COUNTRY OF ALL TIME?? No idea why that could be more appealing than a second world country for the place to restart your life
So it’s not about “asylum” what so ever. It’s about shopping for the best deal. All of Central America and Mexico have the right to an American tax payer funded asylum hearing according to you. Of which the overwhelming majority will be denied because they are simply economic migrants trying to cut the line and game the system
Can’t have Medicare for all or fee college with unlimited illegal immigration. This isn’t an asylum caravan. Build the wall

Huh? How would the self-employed afford insurance without the ACA? You know private plans were even less affordable pre-ACA? At least private plans that actually covered jack shit and didn't leave people applying for medical bankruptcy once they got sick.
This is 1 million % False

Again, you show your ass. HE was going to baggage claim to get his bag. WE did carry ons and passed by him to go out to leave in an Uber. That was the whole point of my post. HE was trying to quickly get off to then wait around for a bit to get a bag. But nice try on your gotcha post. Was coming home from DC and Philly. You would've hated it. There's lots of minorities up there.
Probably had to take a shit

A recorded message reminding them they are a POS would be a nice touch. But needs to be a paint ball bomb instead of glitter and boric acid instead of fart spray.

Best thing fox ever did was put the tracer on the puck in hockey. I think it should come back.
FoxTrax was ahead of its time and was trying to be a solution for standard definition TVs.
They ended up repurposing the tech into the first down line in the NFL and pitch tracker for MLB

Maybe I’m misinterpreting what you mean, but I hate leagues like that. I can’t be in a league that doesn’t force you to start 1 QB, 2 RBS, 2-3 WRs, 1 TE, and at least one flex. Guy invited me to a league that started one rb. Went against everything I’ve ever thought that I knew about fantasy football
We’ve done the 1rb, 2wr, 1 TE,1 flex forever. It’s great. With a short bench there are tons of winning combinations, not just the team with the strongest two (or three RBs). 12 team league and a 6 man bench. No IR. Way more combinations and strategy compared to other leagues

I didn’t see it mentioned but the Meal Simple section is awesome. A lot of fresh ingredient meals, entrees or sides that are ready to heat and eat.
My favorites include:
Chipotle lime chicken breast, broccoli and potatoes
(Santa Fe?) Chicken breast and broccoli
Small strip steak and potatoes
Bacon wrapped asparagus
Chicken, bacon, Mac n cheese
Chicken Tortilla soup kit
Our H-E-B in hut to just tripled their space dedicated to their meal simple stuff so I know I’m not alone. It’s great when I work a later shift and used to spend my lunch eating fast food somewhere. I can get a better meal in a half hour with half the calories and no waste since I’m cooking for one.Have found the quality of these varies greatly. My shitty HEB at Parmer and Mopac are damn near inedible (they look it too)

My friend who is a self-employed architect was paying 68 dollars a month meeting certain requirements (keeping blood pressure under control for one) a couple of years ago. I'm sure it's gone up since. My first year purchasing insurance through Obamacare I was paying 101 dollars a month for a Blue Cross/Blue Sheild of Texas silver plan.
Of course anecdotal evidence adds virtually nothing to understanding the ACA, which had they kept the Public Option would have been essentially a hybrid/compromise between the Clinton Universal Healthcare Initiative and the Republican counterproposal, but since the discussion is obviously going there, figured I throw it in.
Lol. Were You claiming a negative income? I’ve seen over a 500%increase in premiums with a drop in overall coverage

I don't know why I punish myself .... I think you're spot on, but IMHO there are two things I'll add that I think makes some difference in today vs. yesterday:
- Proximity: Asian and European immigration inherently limited by logistics; as the Caravan shows, basically all of Central America can walk to the U.S. and claim "asylum;" by the logic of many, we should just effectively annex Central America.
- Political correctness: somewhere during the last 20 years many liberals intelligentsia decided it was racist to expect immigrants to assimilate, so we spend lots of our tax dollars ensuring Latin American immigrants never have to assimilate culturally or linguistically; my grandfather was spanked and sent home from school for speaking German and told not to return until he knows English; today, he would have gotten a scholarship
I love legal immigration, and I think one of the greatest things about America was the concept of the Melting Pot, which is probably today racist and national socialist. I always thought Texas did a particular good job of it. IMHO, too many extremists on the Left focus too much on our differences and the resulting Identity Politics. Practically, I just think it makes sense to work toward a single American culture as opposed to encouraging everyone to express and monetize our differences. Unfortunately, I guess that makes me a racist and national socialist, etc.
Travis county is floating closing 12 schools due to lack of funds. Travis county champions having two full second language programs all the way through high school in two districts.
What is the cost per student? Illegal immigration has consequences. If you are cool with children footing the bill, Ok, Hookem.

All good until the soccer fantasy wet dream.
8 conferences of 10 teams for Division 1 college football only. The rest play D2 with own tournament.
.....
9 confernce games in a round robin format. Top two teams rematch at a neutral site in CCG.
3 OOC games for seeding and let’s be real, big money match ups between conferences. The SEC can still make their charitable contribution to D2 if they do choose.
(They tell us it’s philanthropy to play the FCS ya know)
the regular season couldn’t be more important. It effectively makes it a 16 game playoff with the CCGs being the first round.
1 more game for two teams.

Show your work. This only effects the top 20% of US households. The middle class won’t notice.
The TPC estimated that the top 20 percent of income-earners get 84 percent of the benefit from the SALT deduction, but they get 67 percent of the benefit from the property tax deduction alone.
Twenty-five percent of tax filers in 2015 claimed a property tax deduction, according to IRS data.
Taxpayers in certain states are still more likely to take the property tax deduction. “Just six states (California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, and Florida) claim more than 50 percent of the property tax deduction,” the Tax Foundation says.
As for the House bill’s $10,000 cap on the property tax deduction, the average deduction claimed was about half that in 2015, the TPC says. But “the average amount claimed for taxpayers with incomes above $200,000 was $10,250,” the TPC says, with higher averages in some states.
