  1. Wow. Great swim ladies. McKeown hit a different gear in the last 15 meters. Damn
  2. Been waiting for this one! Lets go Smith!!!
  3. Heilman did well. So young, definitely looking great for the future!
  4. Bingo. This is the truth. While I was with the Texas women’s swim program, one of our swimmers swam for her flag but lived and trained her whole life here in the states. Another fun story, while working with that young lady training for the Olympics I stopped her practice completely to work on streamline because she literally did not streamline ever. The head women’s coach at the time saw that I was correcting her and changing her practice so she fucking reamed me on the pool deck in front of the team. She was very possessive of “her” Olympian so when the assistant (me) attempted to help she fucking lost it. Fast forward to the finals at the Olympics later that year. Guess who didn’t streamline on their last turn and lost the gold medal? I guess that dumbass assistant might have known something after all
  5. European men have one every individual event so far. Dressel maybe? We will see how things shake out
  6. Many years ago, I had some swimmers qualifying for junior nationals at aggy’s natatorium. A few college swimmers were trying to get their NC cuts and they did a laser measurement of the pool. Turns out aggy screwed up their measurements with the bulkhead! The jokes just write themselves for those goofballs
  7. This is true. Australian trials pools is even more shallow yet had better times. Women’s 200free as the example. It is part of the equation for sure but my gut is saying something else is off too
  8. Good article from swimswam today: https://swimswam.com/other-facts-to-consider-when-looking-at-slow-times-in-paris/ This Olympics is slow!!!!! Slowest men’s 100 breaststroke since 2004. Among many others. It’s been bothering me watching these swims as something just seems off. I can’t figure it out. But I’m reaching out to some coaching buddies to pick their brains.
  9. Looking historically at longhorn men in the 200, I would say Eddie coaches it and has trained them that way. I don’t have data but have years of my eyeballs watching Eddie’s men swim this event. I do agree tho, Hobson definitely should get out faster in the first 25 meters
  10. You are not wrong for feeling that way. We have always had a rivalry with Australia so in my mind they are on the same level as OU This would be so awesome!
  11. Australia going to be tough to beat here
  12. 100 breast is my personal favorite event. It’s what I swam and was the stroke I coached for many years. I’ve got fucking goosebumps from that race. That is what the Olympics are all about. No one set any records. No one ran away with the race. It was a dogfight of sheer will and it was so damn beautiful. Congratulations to the men and coaches that worked inanely hard for that race to happen They fucking better be
  13. .02 separating 1st and then a tie for silver!!!! Damn. That was badass
  14. Wow. This is why I don’t bet on sports. I really expected Armstrong to throw down
  15. Lane 6 from China is blowing this out! Armstrong fucked up bad
  16. Murphy looked great off the turn and underwater but didn’t close well. It’s just a semi but his finals seeding might be closer to the outside I am definitely interested to see Armstrong in the next heat. Would love to see him crush this semi
  17. Women’s 100 breast final is wide open. King looked a little off just then but she’s set up well going into finals. She’s shown up big before and can definitely do it again
  18. If Hobson can go out in 50.5 he has a shot. He’s a back half swimmer. Should be a great race!
  19. 1:44 top seed Popovici. Hobson will need to get out faster in the final to compete for gold
  20. Popovici is so damn fast in the 200
  21. Hobson showing his back half speed. 2024 national champ!
