  1. Wife and I finally made it there Friday night and the place blew us away! Spicy cucumber salad, dumpling combo, bbq pork fried rice, and chicken broccoli were all incredible, and the service was spot on. Entree portions are good enough size to split if also doing appetizers. Unless you're okay with eating dinner before 5pm or after 8pm, reserve at least a couple of weeks in advance.
  2. Appreciate the House of Shields rec. Always looking for a new cocktail bar when in town. We usually stay at the Chancellor Hotel off Union Square, so it's not too far of a walk.
  3. That was a make-up call for this no call earlier in the game.
  4. Thanks. That's what I was looking for, however, I guess I'm sorry I asked.🤣
  5. No, I was just wondering his reverse sear time and temp numbers since I could see myself running out of propane accidentally too.
  6. That looks great! Can you give me time and temperature in the oven, and how long you seared on the stove?
  7. I'm glad they're coming back AND renovating. Good cheap eats, but the one over here by Railhead smelled like shit in the dining room.
  8. And then have said husband go to prison for 25 years.
  9. I haven't been yet, but I see amazing reviews for Family Car Care Center behind Serious Pizza. I have some work I need done soon, and that's where I'm going.
  10. Went to one of the soft openings this weekend for Gustos Burgers, who moved from their food trailer behind Tulips into the old Radler building on Magnolia. Really good smash burger if you like that sort of thing. Only beer and margaritas, but plan on having a full bar in the near future.
  11. Running the full track weekends only 10a-5p.
  12. I'll bet that BYU get together was a real party.
  13. I went a few weeks ago. The credit card machine was down and the place smelled like the plumbing was stopped up.
  14. If you are staying for the weekend and have some free time, drive the back way up to Old Mesilla, New Mexico, and stop at Chope's Bar and Cafe in La Mesa for some excellent Mexican food and ice-cold beer and Margaritas. Old Mesillas is a quaint small village outside of Las Cruces, and the drive up 28 is really nice. There is decent Mexican food at La Posta, and a really nice wine bar across the street at NM Vintage Wines.
  15. No, that last concert was an absolute BEATING through MIDNIGHT, and I live off Clover near 30! However, I didn't hear anything this time so I appreciate the steps take to prevent a repeat.
  16. Olivella's ?
  17. 1.a. Brix. 1.b. Panther City. These two places are .4 of a mile from each other. Panther City will likely have the longer line though.
  18. Hit the "new" Brix today. Got there at 10:30 and was first in line, but it got pretty crowded at opening. Indoor and outdoor seating or sit at the bar. Food was outstanding as always.
  19. Craft burgers are all just playing catch up with the craft BBQ joints.
  20. The other side of Camp Bowie on Horne across from Cash American Pawn.
  21. Probably. Didn't make it long at Blueblonnet or W. 7th. It was my first high school job in Austin, so I'm pulling for them.
  22. Mr. Gatti's coming back. Horne and Camp Bowie, where the hot chicken place was.
  23. He wouldn't commit to an opening date, but said they were getting close, and the fact they're about to start hiring, leads me to believe it will be sooner rather than later.
  24. Brix still throwing out some consistently great BBQ. Trevor says he's about to start hiring for the new location.
