  1. Gusto's smash burger is legit. Get double meat and the tater tots.
  2. By definition it is a homicide, but he's yet to be charged. I assume it was going to be difficult to prove intent for murder, so I guess that's why FWPD sought a warrant for Injury to Elderly instead, since the victim was over the age of 65. However, this charge can be upgraded to a first degree felony under circumstances which I'm pretty sure were met. I did see he was charged with an Assault Bodily Injury-Family Member in 2012, but that case was dismissed.
  3. Hi-Q Locksmith came out to our house (Arlington Heights) a couple of years ago when my wife locked her keys in the car. I felt they were prompt, and fair. 214-938-0368.
  4. If you like weirdo and white trash people watching, this is ground zero! We go at least once every Vegas trip for the experience and are never disappointed. Additionally, Alter Ego is a local band that plays FSE and they are a lot of fun. Downtown is sketch, but I've never felt unsafe, however, if you're from a small town, you might be scared sh!tless.
  5. Wife and I were in the L.A. area for a wedding a few weeks ago and aside from the traffic, we had a great time. LAX is a mess too, but once we got our rental car, we headed to the Original Tommy's for a great burger experience. After that we ventured to UCLA to tour the campus and fell in love with Westwood. We stayed at an Airbnb in Santa Monica, had drinks at the quintessential SoCal beach bar, Big Dean's, and ate some amazing lobster enchiladas at Sol Agave. One night we went to West Hollywood for dinner and drinks at one of the Vanderpump places after spending part of the day at the Griffith Park Observatory. Overall, it was a good experience, and I could see myself living there someday if I could afford it.
  6. It's much better when they scramble the potato together with the egg, but usually they're too lazy to do that unless you ask.
  7. Was in L.A. last week and ate lunch at the Original Tommy's on Beverly Blvd./N. Rampart, just northwest of DTLA. 76 years in business and still cranking out great burgers and fries. No seats, just places to stand and watch traffic/people. Supposedly the place to go after Dodger games too.
  8. Deferred adjudication is a form of probation where the judge stops short of convicting the defendant and places that person on supervision. If the defendant completes the probation successfully, he has no conviction on his record for that particular offense, but if there are violation/s, the judge can adjudicate (convict), and then sentence the defendant to the maximum allowable (months/years) for that particular level of crime (i.e. 3rd degree Felony, Class A Misd., etc.). He will report to a probation officer in a unit that specializes in supervising sex offenders, but wearing a tracker (monitor) is up to the judge, and not an automatic condition of probation.
  9. Come on, give "Funky Town" some love.
  10. I haven't been myself, but I've heard great things about the Brick Vault Brewery in Marathon. It might be a cool place for a beer before or after dinner at Gage.
  11. In my opinion, Trevor puts out the best Q in Fort Worth.
  12. 1. San Francisco 2. San Diego (Mission/Pacific Beach) 3. Las Vegas 4. Vail 5. Northwest Connecticut (Berkshire Mountains)
  13. The first part is sad, but the hauling ass down the aisle while landing made me laugh.
  14. Nice work! That looks amazing! Too bad you were running low on lettuce though.
  15. I drove by there last weekend and there were many available. Good sign for the Optimist folks and their fundraising that they've been sold.
  16. The knife was so expensive he could only afford Miller Lite.
  17. I've never had a bad meal at Brix. Their brisket, pork ribs and sausage are top notch. As a bonus, they provide free Hop Fusion beer while waiting for your order.
  18. Wife and I went for an after drink Friday night at Toro Toro in the Worthington. As soon as we walked in I saw Casey Thompson and his family in one of the sitting areas. CDC and Hartzell were there getting their drink on. Shot the shit with CDC a couple of times. Good dude and says he misses Funky Town.
  19. Blue Goose on University. Fun atmosphere, decent food and drinks.
  20. Bowie Bakery for some pan dulce.
  21. Sorry, but I guess my point was that the food has apparently improved to perfectly fine from the suckage I had encountered during my visit.
