  1. Wife and I went for an after drink Friday night at Toro Toro in the Worthington. As soon as we walked in I saw Casey Thompson and his family in one of the sitting areas. CDC and Hartzell were there getting their drink on. Shot the shit with CDC a couple of times. Good dude and says he misses Funky Town.
  2. Blue Goose on University. Fun atmosphere, decent food and drinks.
  3. Bowie Bakery for some pan dulce.
  4. Sorry, but I guess my point was that the food has apparently improved to perfectly fine from the suckage I had encountered during my visit.
  5. Glad they have improved their game, because when I went 2-3 months ago, the food (cheese enchilada plate) had no flavor whatsoever, the salsa was runny/tasteless, and the tortillas were like rubber. I was shocked as to how different the food was between their two locations.
  6. Great. Headed next weekend to MGM for NBA Summer League. Delta will be gone by then right?
  7. Put on those glasses to make sure you grab the fork and not the pistol before you start eating! Nice looking steak BTW.
  8. Their Q is great, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  9. I think he meant the side dish and plate presentation.
  10. I agree, but a $2.50 train ride to the airport is pretty sweet though.
  11. I don't Uber like I used to but my understanding is that there is still a driver shortage. Try Lyft? Lyft was $13. Still kind of pricey, but better than $40. I have never used Lyft so didn't even think about them. Thanks for the recommendation.
  12. Anyone know why Uber X would be quoting a $44.00 fare from Arlington Heights to T&P Station (4 miles) tomorrow morning at 5:45am?
  13. The slice is freaking huge! Like the size of 2 large slices. Very little pizza sauce so it tasted dry. Pretty cool vibe though.
  14. Get ready for a lot of different answers! With all due respect, you don't have to reverse sear or sous vide to cook a quality steak as most here seem to believe, although I understand why people do so. If you have a grill and can get the temperature to 450-550, you are on your way. It does take a little practice, and I did so with less expensive prime top sirloin, but have gotten it down and it is so much easier. Just my opinion, and it won't be very popular. Either way good luck.
  15. Hit Brix yesterday. Very solid. Nice bark on the brisket, and big meaty pork ribs. Also, free Hop Fusion beer while waiting for your order!
  16. Gonna need a lot of business to pay that cable bill.
  17. Actually, went to Tulane's for the first time yesterday after work. Dark interior, friendly bartender and good Happy Hour drink prices. Plan to return.
  18. Check out Toque Mexicano at 5822 Camp Bowie. Great food, big portions, and amazing friendly service. If it's your first time, they will bring out samples of literally 11 different salsas/starters etc. Chips are homemade too. BYOB.
  19. I'm right there with you on Griff's.
  20. Burgers N Beyond on W. Allen is an excellent old school burger with great fries too.
  21. I love you man! Lol!!
  22. Nice work, but you're no caveman if either one of my nemesis, sous vide or reverse searing were involved! What seasoning did you use?
  23. You have a good eye my man.
