  1. Yeah, Kazmir was Cy-Falls and was the 2nd pitcher drafted from that high school that year. Clint Everts was drafted #5 and Kazmir #15.
  2. There was a Shaggy poster that was infamous for proudly posting a picture of his “cooked” bacon. I just know I want it cooked more than that I hope he didn’t die from the ptomaine.
  3. Oh, so it was a joke. And you are well known around these parts for irony. Got it.
  4. That was the definition of a hanging curveball on Bregman. As Geoff Blum likes to say - but didn’t on that one - Hang it and Bang it.
  5. Yeah, I was watching that live and did a double take. Had to rewind to see if he really said what I thought I heard. That was awesome. Hinch rivals Bregman in the arrogance department. I love it.
  6. Great defense, speed, occasional power, and - so far this year - ability to get on base. Perfect reserve outfielder.
  7. Yeah, I was talking about LAST year. Right. No. I heard somewhere around these parts that Marisnick wasn’t worthy of a roster spot. So far, THIS YEAR, he’s proving that theory wrong.
  8. Damn that Jake Marisnick. All he does is get base hits when he gets to play. Worthless, I tell you.
  9. Happy for you sand aggies. Now go finish it.
  10. I don’t know. I read somewhere that Mike Khrushchev-ski sucked shit through a straw for his first 4 years at Duke. The rest is history. Seeing as he has sucked shit through a straw for 4 years, Shaka is obviously about to go on a 40-year run of excellence. Right? Right?
  11. I remember Baxter as being the original Round Mound of Rebound. Derka, your Dad is a damn good writer.
  12. I want to win. Ill say a prayer for Owen Meaney.
  13. Maybe we ought to dial down the new aggressiveness on the bases.
  14. As a young man I used to go to a lot of Astros games in the Dome. In the late ‘70’s I could sit in the Yellow section directly behind home plate for $3. Pretty high up, but a good perspective. Saw Ken Forsch pitch a no-hitter in the second game of the season in 1979 from up there. Good times, indeed.
  15. Fuck the goddamn sand aggies, but fuck Michigan more.
  16. That is awesome. Still, back then - ok - $3 - not that big of a deal. I remember. But now? $20, $30, hell, for game 3 of the World Series we paid $60.
  17. Matt Galante was tasked to teach Biggio 2nd base in 1992. Doran came back to help after having been traded a couple of years earlier. Biggio gives Galante most of the credit. But Biggio was a hell of an athlete to be able to switch from a Major League catcher to a Major League 2nd baseman. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/astros/amp/How-Matt-Galante-turned-Craig-Biggio-into-a-6401507.php
  18. Jake with a walk and a single. Works for me.
  19. Ex-Astro Tuffy Rhodes would like a word with you. Ha ha https://www.google.com/amp/s/ftw.usatoday.com/2015/04/karl-tuffy-rhodes-opening-day-three-home-runs-1994-npb-japan-mlb/amp
  20. Verlander’s got a hell of a lot of movement on his breaking balls today.
